As long as you are willing to hold your horses during market downturns, yes.

I think that LTC is still a good choice for a long term investment given its first mover advantage as an altcoin & its willingness to adopt new technology.

Just don't expect outsized gains like some of the other alts, but the flip side is that you do get a lot more stability. Make sure you do DCA regularly into your position, though.

So Litecoin still has a chance to rise high and probably, the price can likely increase more than $500 in the long-term. You should have the patience to hold Litecoin as the price seems slow to grow so you can buy Litecoin from now on and keep it following your plan. I have some Litecoin and still waiting for the price to increase later so I do not mind if it takes years to hit more than $500.

You can do it, but I have a few suggestions for you. Dont buy right now. before buying try to look at the chart. Try to find out the support resistance zone. Also, use some indication to find out a good entry. If you don't understand what I am saying, Try to learn some knowledge about Technical analysis. It would be very helpful for you in the future also. Litecoin is a good project. I sold most of my Litecoin at $80 and now it's almost 2x. I don't regret what I did, because I made a huge profit from this coin. For a long-time investment, this coin is a good choice.
