So I ask you, how is it coming along where you live?  Is it fully legal, coming close to being legal, or illegal with no change in sight?
So far it isnt totally banned here on my country and besides we do have several physical casinos existing which means its totally legal but i do hear out that online gambling operators is prohibited to make out some business on here which means there are still some restrictions.

So far i dont any adverts neither on outside billboards or tv ads about gambling but you could actually see those establishments clear as day but they arent really making that much of an exposure.

Addiction rate on our country isnt really that too severe but for sure there are people who do really fall into this problem.

Gambling is illegal in my country.
Although there are so many online gambling sites that we can find here and although there are so many gamblers, it doesn't mean that our government will legalize gambling.
Well, this is still illegal and there is regulation.
But, although it is illegal, it doesn't mean there are no gamblers here, we can find so many people playing gambling, both offline, online, playing in this country, or even playing gambling in other countries.

In the Philippines, the government recognizes PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation) as the main establishment responsible for gambling games in the country. Ironically, as compared to our customs, it is one of the three (3) establishments that provide the highest revenue in the country due to a number of players active in the gambling world in the country.

Though I have yet to see online gambling in the country, the facts state the truth about its potential for revenue growth. If the government taps into this industry more, it can outweigh and bring more good than harm.

in my country gambling is legal and this is something very good, for any offline or online casino to want to operate in my country it is enough to have a license issued by the government of my country that the casino can operate, some casinos are sponsoring the league from my country's soccer team. people in my country love the lottery and many other games that involve betting, that's a good thing, you can't be giving orders with people's money, they work hard to earn money and they have the right to do whatever they want

Its already legal and casinos are everywhere in my country, even in pandemic people are still playing on the casinos or even online, we are into gambling even if we don't have much money we always gamble since its also available in streets, that is also legal in some way. Online gambling are also growing in my country, the government already regulated this one and they easily gave out license to operate, no wonder many are already operating now.

I think there's no difference here from the past even without the pandemic they are still against to some of the gambling games here in my country. Although, most of them are raiding gambling arena because most of them are not permitted to operate but the problem lies on the government asking more money for a permit that's why some will just illegally open the gambling area as long as it's hidden.

But overall, I would say there's not much of a restrictions on gambling as long as they provide enough papers to the authority and they are all good to go.

Gambling is completely banned in my country, but there is access for online gambling. Apart from this there is permission for casinos to be run on specific locations. Nowadays we can see more and more number of gambling platforms getting promoted through different social media platforms. In particular YouTube promotion is much done for these platforms. On the other side government is with plans of banning, because quite often we get news of suicide out of gambling losses.

I am just kind of curious how legalized gambling is coming along in whatever part of the world you live in?  I'm from Illinois in the United States and we just recently legalized many forms of gambling.  It's progressing pretty quickly too.  I'm hearing a lot of radio ads, seeing ads on TV for different sports books and what not etc.  I see this as great progress.  Free will is something we all deserve and though I know gambling can cause serious addiction etc, that shouldn't be up to our governments to decide whether we should be allowed to do it or not.

So I ask you, how is it coming along where you live?  Is it fully legal, coming close to being legal, or illegal with no change in sight?

I've only know legalized gambling here in Philippines but only for those big establishments, small operations and casual gambling that's not seen by authorities remained illegal. Like what I observed at my local place a small community barangay, heads and tails a coin dropped on a plain stone was still difficult to chase by local police due to illegal issues. However, online sabong betting started to become popular but I don't think we'd come to an issue for legality or not, hopefully there's a cryptocurrency adoption with this because I felt anonymous and comfortable rather than betting using gcash or any remittance center.

It's very much legal here in our country, in fact, it's our government that runs and managed the casinos and betting lotteries here, we are a third world country, and these casinos and betting lotteries are a big help to our economy, this is where the government gets the funding for various health project, it's a business and job-generating industry and our government also is fully supporting Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) they are giving the government the much-needed tax and the foreign employees are spending their money here to sustain tourism and business operation.

When it comes to gambling the only legal activity is lotteries and casinos. also, cockfighting has been temporarily banned but they were allowed like normal boxing. other than that is not allowed and people will face some serious charges depends on the money they've bet. But village gamblers are often free with this because they only bet small amounts of money but still they are gambling and usually the government doesn't allow it. but when there is nothing to get, they leave it and no one really bothers about them.

I'm from the Philippines. Gambling here is generally legal. We have all kinds of gambling here. We have resort casinos, state lotteries, horse racing, cockfighting, poker houses, and so on, but I believe that the bulk of gambling money is moving within the even larger world of illegal gambling. Is the end of these illegal gambling operations in sight? No, because the illegal gambling lords are often the most powerful and influential people.

Free will is something we all deserve and though I know gambling can cause serious addiction etc, that shouldn't be up to our governments to decide whether we should be allowed to do it or not.

This is highly debatable. And I can't fully agree with it.

Thats true, Im from the same country and gambling as you mentioned is legal in our country. The Government is getting taxes from these casinos thats why they can operate legally, however at this moment I think they're not fully operational due to pandemic. Just want to add that there are some LGUs (local government units) who banned any form of gambling just like here in our place. So if we want to gamble, we need to go in nearby city.

Where I live it is legal.

All forms of gambling I can think of. And it has been that way for as long as I have been alive, I doubt if at any time in the past it was forbidden.

But banning gambling what it does is move it into illegal environments, it never ends it. It happens as with the dry law, it surely reduces consumption a little, at least at the beginning, but the State loses control, stops collecting taxes and leaves gamblers alone in the face of danger. With legal gambling, you have options of self-exclusion and responsible gambling, but forget about it when it is illegal.

Gambling is not allowed here, but even though it is prohibited, some people still play traditional gambling and play in a secret place without the police knowing.
Those gamblers are smart enough to move their gambling places to many places and when they want to start gambling, they will announce that to the gamblers to go to the place they already set before.
I think gambling industries became big when the government legalized the use and made people have free will to play gambling where the government approves.
But the underground gambling place will remain there as many people will not just playing gambling but also doing other transactions.

It's fully legal here but you have to get a license to run one we have horse betting cockfighting online we have lotteries almost in every locality here and casinos here are managed by the government-appointed commissioners, casinos are part of the tourism here in our country, the government is relying on revenues to sustain the health sector, our people accept this because the poor are the one that will benefit.

You meant "freedom"? Unfortunately even in most developed countries also, option of gambling is given to people which is the reason why and how underage gambling and overtime gambling are happening with the help of corrupted officials and casinos. Governments are just considering only the revenue generation from gambling but never bother gambling's negative impact to younger generations.

Is it fully legal, coming close to being legal, or illegal with no change in sight?
In my country, we are having mixed scenario. We have legal horse race but lotteries are fully banned and no physical casinos are available (as far as I am aware of) but all online gambling sites are accessible.

In my locale and country, there is no formal law or rule i know that prohibits gambling for people, just for the underaged. Gambling activities are fully operational and a thriving business, especially sports betting that has taken over, and some see it as an opportunity to make millions from their small input.

There are numerous sports betting outlets from different providers providing different "odds" for its users and they are all around , in almost every street that you get to.

ame from where am I, It's legal as the government uses this venue to collect taxes and provide it to aid those in needs. There are many poor people who ask helped from the government who are handling the facilitations of legal casinos here.

It's not hard to see or to play gambling from here, there are lots of available venues and with this pandemic even offshore casino managed to establish online access and allow their patrons to continue playing.

If there's a will, then there's always a way. That's a good saying that these casino owners understand and take into action.

Here in my country a gambling activities was legal like lotteries and casinos, even cockfighting, horse racing etc. which I believe allowed because of the revenue that it gives to our country's economy. However, due to pandemic any public gatherings are temporarily prohibited and here it born the most trending online cockfighting in our country which many cockfighting bettors enjoyed their time watching the fight inside their home while sending their bets through digital platform.

Gambling is allowed here but whenever I see any advertisement related to the gambling they add a disclaimer at the end which is clear enough mention that it can cause financial loss and serious addiction which is seriously a good thing because in the past they add this as a snap which won't visible there even for a second but now it is there for actual purpose.
