i guess gamblers have their own definition of "fun" thing here. because i can agree with you that dice is somewhat a boring game, there's not much excitement unless you will apply some of the known strategies and try to work it out. i also don't consider this as a game that you can really get profit of. if you don't know how to handle yourself, you will end up depleting your bankroll. so in case you will apply like martingale, you should consider stopping once you got some winnings. otherwise, it will only go back to the casino.

Making money from Dice games consistently is not possible in my opinion. I played Dice regularly myself and never saw a strategy that can make us money every time we play. The luck factor is big in dice games and with an negative expected value for the gambler we should be losing money in the long run. So relying on Dice games to make a living is not a good idea. Which doesn't mean that we can't make money of it. But in my opinion it is better to look at Dice games, Roulette or Slot machines as a potential addition to our bankroll, there is no certrain money involved. In what you have described here it means the 'guy' you mentioned is an addict. You can not be gambling all the time and not be addicted to it. And you said the gambler makes a living from it, it is then a source of income to him. Alot of people get addiction from things that make them money.
