Hello, I would like to warn you on scam qr code generator API It generates different address than it is supposed to. Here is my transaction with this qr... Wonder when they transfer it. https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/bc1qu649ujp32tsaklnqzgdqh9ztrcrnw8zkds9du0They don't answer emails or anything. BEWARE and always check more times that address is correct! Look at the scammers here: bitcoinqrcodemaker.com Wonder if we can do more, because this scam works for years now and still trapping many people (including me *sad evil laugh*)

Unfortunately, it seems that you have been scam already. So they won't answer back and probably those scammers are laughing their ass off because they got another victim. In any case, this is not the first time. It has been reported as well as early as 2020. I guess this will serve a big lesson for you and hopefully you will be the last victim. I wonder though where you get this API? {Warning}: Fake Bitcoin QR Code Generators. by @Baofeng

One of the staff tried this site 3 years ago and warned us here. In conclusion, none of these address generators can be trusted. The main target is, of course, who are weak in technical terms. But, I thought it was closed a long time ago, still surprised it's still open. -snip- Wonder if we can do more, because this scam works for years now and still trapping many people (including me *sad evil laugh*)
The only way is to report the site to the host/domain provider. Follow these tips. -snip- I wonder though where you get this API?
Easy to find. When I typed "bitcoin qr generator" on G-search, this site came second in the search results.

I am confirming that provided website creating a wrong qr code. Most provably the tools just randomly show the address what was input previously there. I have tested this thorough my own building app. I just randomly type some words and generate it. But when I see the result through my own build app it is showing wrong. What I have input: The result come:

It has not BTC logo, but it serves its purpose and works perfectly. But I wonder if these are really their addresses to harvest stolen Bitcoins or they are generating some random to "burn" these Bitcoins

It's just really not good to rely on Bitcoin QR Generator services while QR works mostly just by reading the blacks and whites hence generating your address on a simple text to QR generator would suffice. You can also check the validity of your QR just simply be scanning it and scanners are already available in any smartphone. Scanning it with your phone's camera would prompt you what the message or the link the QR provides which is obviously a tool to verify what you've generated. Hope no one relies nor promotes QR generators exclusive for Bitcoin that doesn't show warnings about its risks and consequences.

We used anyway the simple QR in the end It seems that this website has been in the wild for years already and could have caught a lot of victims: Registrant Withheld for Privacy Purposes Registrant Org Privacy service provided by Withheld for Privacy ehf Registrant Country is Registrar NAMECHEAP INC NameCheap, Inc. It seems that this website has been in the wild for years already and could have caught a lot of victims:
The address the scam site bitcoinqrcodemaker.com is currently producing on their QR codes currently does not have any transactions, although it is likely that it has used different addresses over time. This is one example as to why it is important to search for scams prior to interacting with any bitcoin related website or service, especially "free" services.

As far as I can see, you reported that the website is a scam, yet the website is still running. I can still visit the website. So it seems to me that namecheap has not received enough reports to take action on this domain. So more needs to be reported from the community.

So it seems to me that namecheap has not received enough reports to take action on this domain. So more needs to be reported from the community. I wrote them this (Just for inspiration): Hi, This website is scam and scammed me for 400$ bitcoinqrcodemaker.com We have a topic here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5364414.new;topicseen#newand here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5235014.0(I am sure there are so many more of them) How can such a scam still be working? For so many years??? Here is my scam transaction so you can see: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/bc1qu649ujp32tsaklnqzgdqh9ztrcrnw8zkds9du0Thanks for resolving this. Hopefully more people will email you, so you can decide easier and faster, before somebody will fall for it. Have a nice day Kevin

^^ Good, I still haven't got any reply from Namecheap though, it seems that we really need more users to report this to them and put some pressure to really bring down this website.
But I'm not surprised by the slow response though, typically it might takes weeks to get even one reply to them. So I will wait before I make a follow up email.

Oh wow, so this scam site has been up that long? That's incredible. Makes me wonder how much money they've blatantly stolen from unsuspecting people who've used it--and also what it would take to get the site shuttered. OP, just curious: How did you happen to stumble upon this site? They obviously don't advertise on the forum, so did you search for a QR code generator or something? Seems like that would be something a lot of people might do who aren't aware of how many scammers there are in the bitcoin space, and it'd be a shame if this particular site came up on the first page of results. This website is scam and scammed me for 400$
Oh shit....sorry you lost that much. Glad you reported them to namecheap though. Hopefully that'll be the way they get shut down--but unfortunately I suspect that if they've made decent money with this scam, they'll just hop on over to another domain name provider and set up shop again.

Better me, the person who is working hard and can make something back in future than complete bitcoin newbie that will end with bitcoin and tell everybody all he has been scammed, so they wont start at all... That is true They can hide ownership It's pitty there is not some Bitcoin/crypto focused scam list Or is there? Or it may be good idea for somebody to start I think this community could be strong enough to stop scams and to support good projects But still there is this "human shit stuff" - If there is good project, for somebody there is no need to support it if it works for them - If there is scam, for somebody there is no need to help destroy it unless they are scammed
