But in the first place, do you think Vitalik will resort to that path? I don't think he will intentionally ruin what he created in this community. If in case he will do that, I am certain there has valid reason. But so far, I am not seeing that happening. Because once it happens, we know eth network will disappear. Firstly, very unlikely.

People have been speculating on what Satoshi will do with his coins for a very long time now. Hasn't happened.

Secondly, it's not like Vitalik controls 50% of the supply. The community will be fine - in fact there is probably a lot of people wishing that they can get their hands on cheap ETH right now.
