I honestly think Instagram is the best platform for younger or older clients to be reached as you can expand the reach through multiple hashtags. It is also a platform that blew up not so long ago and has alot of improvements coming our way.

The cost of purchasing a course related to IT proffession is quite on a high side in our world today, still lots of competition out there, a lot of people searching for clients using different advertising methods making it harder to find clients.
Like you obviously said, "a lot of people are searching for clients using different advertising methods", thereby making it hard for others like you to find clients to patronize you for your service. That means your lack of client is not that there ain't clients in the market but that you (OP) lack advertising method to use in magneting these clients to yourself, so why don't you start by offering freelancing as your own method not until when clients must have seen how good you are at what you do, then you can start demanding for payment for your services which they (clients) will definitely agree to pay cause they have seen your work and how good you are at it. They can also introduce you to their other colleagues.

Yes, Instagram is a popular platform, and there are also many platforms such as LinkedIn, Upwork, 99designs, and BEHANCE that the OP can work on as a web designer, but he needs knowledge and marketing methods to attract his clients, also he needs a portfolio to display his previous work and he needs to promote his services on social media and share them in the popular hashtags for designers Web, and he must build relationships with other people who are professionals in this field, and try as much as possible to be distinguished and try to show his experience and skills so that he is chosen and hired without hundreds of other web designers.

Yes, if someone has a budget and willing to run ads, then there can be no better place than Facebook and Instagram targeted ads. You can select your desired regions, target audience with interests related to what you are selling and other metrics. You can get good results if you know how to set up your ads.

Other than that, joining telegram groups and posting your skills also might get you better results as per what I have been observing in most exchange's telegram groups (but it might become as a violation of terms and conditions hence checking that well before might save you from getting banned).

Running ads on facebook might not effective and you might just waste your money for spending some amount with that since clients mostly don't go on that channels to find their workers. Maybe much better if he create or set up an account on linked which also display his experiences and for that he might get many clients that might interested on his services. Upwork, fivrr, bitcointalk and or designcrowd.

Facebook's orientation has slowly changed to a business platform rather than social since the marketplace feature was created. I read several reviews of FB ads users on Quora, especially those from countries with the most Facebook users, saying that FB ads are very effective. In my country (Indonesia), FB ads have started to be promoted a lot by several advertising mentors since the Covid season.
Since web design is a (in my opinion) generalist product, I'm more convinced that the OP is better with this method.

It is true that Facebook has now developed a good business platform for its users along with social media. But I think a web designer should keep a portfolio as well as gigs on various freelance websites. Because most of the buyers go to these places to find people for their work. I would direct the OP to consider these websites as the main source or platform for getting work as a web designer. Then you can use various social media as a side promotion.

The cost of purchasing a course related to IT professions can be high, but it's essential to consider the potential return on investment.
It's critical to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the industry, as this can help you remain competitive and attract clients looking for expertise in specific areas.

Though what you are saying is correct that a developer will need to have knowledge about all the latest technologies, programming languages, scripting languages, and everything important if they want to stay on top of the competition, he would also require a platform to showcase those skills to get clients who will hire him to work for them.

I think once a person has the skills required, they should turn to freelance platforms available online, create gigs and offer their services on different platforms, and keep improving their reach as well. Sharing on social media can also help with the cause.

Fiverr and Upwork are the two most popular freelancing platform in my region. The only downside is that those two platforms are now overcrowded with sellers than the number of active buyers. So to stand out amidst the competition you need to be able to pitch your skill better than the average sellers in your niche.

So to stand out amidst the competition you need to be able to pitch your skill better than the average sellers in your niche.
The biggest challenge a new seller faces on such platforms is not having enough reviews or a rating to be able to stand out among the crowd, and buyers mostly see the most experienced and reliable sellers for their work. So unless you are very lucky or have optimized your gigs or services so well that they appear in a lot of searches, you stand no chance at all.

Those who manage to get some ratings and attract some buyers initially will have an advantage that can provide them with more opportunities, but those who fail to do that will have to face a lot of struggle to get a single client.

Advertising platforms usually prioritize those who pay the most. You will only get low ad visibility if you choose the lowest plan.

By the way, what methods have you done so far?
Getting clients is not always through advertising, you can offer your services directly by contacting potential clients on social media. Maybe it's because you're only targeting big clients/companies making it difficult for you. I only suggest starting small to add to the collection of experiences on your portfolio page. You can also sell web templates on design marketplace sites like 99designs, dribble, or others and place your personal contacts so they will contact you for design changes or adjustments.

Even I think that web designing jobs are more and more in demand these days. Now retail businesses are starting to have their own websites to serve their customers.

So, that's right, there are many means for creators to sell their services via the internet, some via freelancer websites like Fiver but there the pieces are quite large and compete with seniors who are old and trusted, or through social media by way of marketing through their portfolios. or by contacting via Email by looking for an art director or similar.

How can you find clients offline when most businesses today that are looking for a web designer can easily be found on the web. It's true that F2F contract do really count and it matters a lot but with today's phasing and digital age, it's easier to find clients that are on this specific niche online. When you go offline and try to look for them personally, you'll walk and go through each establishment to ask them if they need a web designer? I don't think that's a good strategy and you'll be exerting a lot of effort from it and that's why it's better to use the resources that you've got and be online and look for them at many job marketplaces which both of you can meet online and have conferences and sign contracts online.

The best platform to get clients as a web designer is an online listing/profile on sites like Designhill, Upwork, Freelancer and others. Theoretically, these platforms help you manage your workload easier by selecting several clients at once and completing their projects together (instead of doing each one individually). Plus they provide a structured way to track how much money you make from these projects, which will help you measure how much time it takes to build your reputation.

Well, sometimes it does work when you walk up to a software house or a company and drop your CV letting them know that you are looking for a job and what position you are willing to work in, but as you said, it's not really required since almost all the companies even the smallest ones are available online or at least have their social media handles where they can be reached out.

I believe having interviews on-site is much better than having them online if you are interviewing for a job within the same city that you're living in because you may face problems in online interviews sometimes with an internet connection or any other issue can disturb your interview and you may lose the opportunity.

Where easy ways are already available why are you needlessly suggesting to take the hard way. Face-to-face meetings may work for other businesses, but for these jobs, I don't think face-to-face meetings matter much. And I don't think any company now sit for web designers like this to build their website because they can go to good platforms like Allready Fiber, upwork and hire highly professional or budget friendly web designers for them.

You are right that things have changed, it's not like the old times when developers or programmers needed to visit so many places only in search of a job, and they would give a lot of interviews every day at different places and offices. But today, the world has revolutionized, and you don't need to do those things anymore. From interviews to hiring or attending meetings, everything can be done online these days.

It would also not be wrong to mention that the competition has increased as well over the course, so as there are more facilities available for people to find and land jobs, there is also tough competition for jobs.

Networking is key in any industry, including IT. Try attending meetups and conferences to connect with potential clients and other professionals in the field. You never know who you might meet and what opportunities may arise.
