Well, I am more or less inclined to the multiple income kinda guy and has always tried to add more and more option to my portfolio. I am very much up for the business first and then for the job. I am a biotechnologist by profession and im doing pretty good at vaccine manufacturing plant however at the end of day it is nothing but 9-5 job and you have to be there all the time anyways. I am slowly starting to look for good business opportunities and sooner or later I will start one small business for sure. Though not considered as business but I am selling my Pencil Arts everywhere and whenever get the opportunity I would go and show it in the exhibitions. I am working on the full fledge working of the same, and hope that some way other I will convert it into the big business deal.

Personally i will do both, maybe for some people who have shortcut, they can open business in a short time. But for ordinary people, they need to collect money to be used as capital to open business, and where to start it? it is have a job. Doing something in  step by step really needed because even we already have money, opening business is not simple as it seen, it need research to be success and not guarante it can made us successful directly.

Why would need to choose if you could do both? Its not really impossible to do both as long you do know how to manage your time and of course your funds or capital. Doesnt matter on how you've done it because

Most people can't choose between having a job x or y, or between being a employee or employeer. All they can do is to take the opportunity that is currently opened to them with the hope something better will be disponible after some time. Of course the business owner position looks more interesting for most people, because they imagine it is an easy duty where all the have to do is to order people to do things.

But in fact, owner and manager positions are the most difficult, time and responsability demanding ones. So it's really not for everyone, and even though most people would like to have access to the benefits and advantages of those positions I'm sure they wouldn't want the negative aspects and renounces those same occupations also demand.

Sometimes it's better to be just a well paid worker instead of a manager with a restricted budget a lot of headaches.

what people want when study is certificate to apply in many company, and when get a job, they have good position, and salary. in my country, company apply people who have connection with other worker, its hard to dig new potential from newbie, like just who want to fill this position. not all company play like this, good manager will do like system and what you have for the company.

If you are not yet capable of managing your own business, you can always apply for a job and save funds to achieve your target. But if you finished taking up other courses, of course, you can apply a job base on your qualification. Why not choose both?

You can maximize your time by doing these two things. You have a job whether it's high paying or average paying then after your shift, you go to the business that you're building. Just have someone that you whom trust to run the business while you're out.

And just go with the process of establishing it, once it's already good and stable, you can decide whether to stay on that job and keep going. Or, you will become full time on your business.

This is the mindset in society in general. We grew up to go to school and then get a good job, a high position, and also a high salary. especially if we succeed in becoming a civil servant (government), in my circle this becomes an extraordinary thing and is the target of many people.

When we finish our studies, we have a big hope to work in a good company with a good salary. But not all people can get that chance because they need to compete with the other candidates. The best thing that they can do is keep trying to search for the job but they also need to search what business can boom in the next cycle or will be needed every time.

So they will have two opportunities that can help them to make money and even if only one thing works good for them, they do not have to worry because if they still insist to search for another source of income, I am sure they will get that someday.

The key in this matter does not complain to about everything that you do and keep trying more and more because who knows, one of what you did will give you the answer to what you need to do it later.

Unfortunately that your restaurant business crashed and that was because of covid-19 restrictions which is understandable people were not allowed to move around, restaurant business requires physical presence. Your restaurant business was not the only one that suffered, all others that requires physical patronage suffered and got shot down. Big companies too were affected and they downsized there labour force and directed working from home for few and this opened people's mind to working at home and seeing also the opportunities online. My suggestion therefore is you can look up some of these opportunities online and develop a business idea from it as alternative as you do your restaurant business. Diversification is better than putting yourself in just one line of business.

Several times I made a business from agriculture, fisheries to a supplier of vehicle spare parts, but this has not been able to make me successful because business requires patience, when the shop is empty I can't wait and choose to try another business, and because I'm not focused it makes me lose money and now I focus on work and plan to do business again if economic conditions improve.

Business is always better but when it comes to business 9 out 10 won't survive even 2 years from their start up so be ready for the failures if you want to become a business man.

You can also put it another way. If you take a normal job, you want to live a normal life. But in the very rarest of cases, you can become rich in the process.

Life is like a dice, my outcome may favour me but when it your turn to roll it, they may not favour life. This is the same with been an entrepreneur and working as a job person.
I will pick business if I have the capital and environment that will favour my kind of business ideas, not some kind of place that my profit will be making a negative value to my sweat.
If I have a Job in well paid company, I will also but will later abandon the job if I save enough to start a business.
