Yes of course you are in right track, i believe that the first thing or measure someone who is not acquainted to the environment have to do is to locate the rules and regulations of the community and read up and comprehend it stanza by stanza so that it will not be devastated or deviate from the community by been ignorant of the conduct before it will be victimized for broken of  law or the protocols of the community, i think this is primary concern of newbies first.
