If you're starting a project in today's era and you don't have an announcement thread on Bitcointalk, then you probably aren't legit. It costs nothing to join this forum and there is a huge pool of investors/enthusiasts on this board. If your project is legit and offers value why wouldn't you want to let this community know about it? I wouldn't go and call some project a scam just because they don't have an announcement thread on here, but I would question it.

Not all project are Bitcointalk based advertising mate, there are even successful project that did not advertised here in this forum so for me personally? it is not the ANN Thread that will dictate if the project is legit or not instead this is just one factor for the whole bitcointalk community to have references  in case they are looking for some place to invest, but this not mean it is completely needed .
because even if there is a ANN Thread but the team wanted to scam people they will use the Thread to make their team and project legit as to lure investors that will end up a victim .

Well, some other legit altcoins do not have an announcement thread on the forum but still are doing well in the market and building a great community. But again for investors' safety sake, you need to look out for coins on the forum.

You confuse altcoins with ICOs. Good altcoins with strong fundamentials like BNB (Phenomenon of BNB (Fundamental analysis BNB/USD)) are here for years and are not going anywhere.
But if you are talking about new tokens that all they have is web page and promise of "staking, lending, farming" (magic words that attracts newbies), it does not matter if there is ANN thread or not ... its 99% scam.

For everyone's its a big advantage for a projects to have ANN thread but nowadays i don't know if it's still a big deal since most genuine and trusted projects can be determine easily through some trusted sites around the internet . And you know everyone's talking about whitepaper as well but now seems it's nothing, i mean the most important is if it's listed in eany exchanges and already have value in the market.

It's a shame, almost every project used to be on BCT, but now half of new projects don't even have a topic at all. This used to be the go to place to find new things, now it feels old and slow.

The majority of shit tokens developers didn't raise the funds to pay the exchange site in the past and that's why the choose to turn their project into the scam project that never get listed in exchange site. that's quite different with this time when so many dexs exist in the market.

The main purpose for the announcement thread creationg to increase the engagement between the crypto developers with the members of this forum. This forum has millions members that's why they are seeing it as an opportunity to get new supporters and investors at the same time through creating attractive announcement thread. You can't use the creation of announcement thread as a measure to determine how good or bad they are

ANN thread won't guarantee the projects good but indeed if they have it we can see and research more informations about upcoming projects but i will see ANN thread for the devs side that if they made a thread then possible their projects will be more popular because currently this is the biggest cryptocurrency forum which is there are tons of users available at here and the percentages to get a lot of investors will be open wide if the devs active to promote their projects through this forum

Even though it doesn't guarantee project success but it gives room for the project team to answer questions and give an update on the progress of the project, with ANN thread serving as an online office of the project and problems can easily be trashed through the thread.

ANN Thread is important part of advertising specially in crypto world towards Bitcointalk.org .. because accept it or not but this forum is the most famous and popular place to advertise your project and if you don't have ANN Thread here but you are broadcasting your project then this is something not right because it looks like the team is Cheap and has no funds in hiring one to promote their thread.

Does making an ANN topic increase trust rating for projects? SCAM is not modulated here, but the good point is the activity of many expert people who report it, based on their questions and responses that you get.

In short, a project that creates an ANN topic here and gets reviews from many trusted users with accurate answers is not a scam project, but it is difficult to guarantee that it will not turn into scam or is a profitable project.

BNB is a good altcoin??? BNB is a central coin that have price based on trust in Binance, and therefore it is more dangerous than paper money because it is not backed by anthing except an anonymous company.

Despite that, it is better (in terms of price) than scam/unknown coins, but it is not an altcoin.

Of course they do. Especially if they're maintaining that thread and as it only shows how they're respecting the forum and as well as the people that are engaging with their thread. And if the thread is not self-moderated, that means that they're transparent.
That thread can be commented with negative thoughts about their project and they can't delete it.

For example, a few months ago I knew about the Earth2 project. Although it has something to do with Ethereum (how the land is registered or something like that) it is not advertised that way, and it is not considered a crypto project (payments are made in fiat via bank transfer or card), so it has no ANN thread here, and I think that it is more trustworthy than most other projects advertised here in the altcoins section.

So, to me, creating an ANN (an hour of work is enough to do so) is no guarantee of quality or success.

The ones that are here are mostly concerned with marketing and making it popular for more funds sent to the team. But it's also just like having an AMA in the forum where users can ask about what goes on in the project because bitcointalk is the biggest discussion board on the internet.

Countless projects that are not here are also successful such as AVAX or Polkadot, but maybe they already have a private sale, and next thing we know people invest in it. Play to Earn tokens are not here as well.

I actually don't really care about this stuff.

Some altcoin developers simply are not aware of bitcointalk, and even if they are they may think that it is not suitable for their purposes of advertising an alt.

Which is entirely fair enough - so long as their other marketing venues is making up for it.

ANN plays a big role. It's a one-stop discussion place better than a Telegram group.

We will see the seriousness of the project if they will also establish an ANN here. It's not that hard to create in the first place. If they can't create that simple doing, how can they even run a strong project? Having an ANN is necessary for me. For all the projects I was involved in the past, all of them have an organized ANN thread.
