- Fair launch and no premine

What is Photonic Bitcoin?
Photonic Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency working on blockchain development and use cases while using a futuristic algorithm (Heavyhash). Photonic Bitcoin can currently be mined using CPU's and GPU's. In the future it will be mined by low powered technology efficient optical computing developed by PoWx Foundation. Heavyhash accompanied by oPoW miners will allow miners to remove electricity costs from the equation, allowing regions with high costing electricity to continue to mine and be a part of the Proof-Of-Work network.

We believe that Bitcoin uses far too much energy to run it's chain, thus Photonic Bitcoin will continue to develop over time to allow low powered and low costing blockchain movement.
Photonic Bitcoin will follow majority of Bitcoin Core's new implementations and hope to work with our growing community to build bigger and better for cryptocurrency.

Our team is dedicated to work hard and efficiently to deliver all expectations and more, not only do we wish for that, we also wish to build a community that will enjoy working with Photonic Bitcoin's team. Whether this be developing the latest and greatest API's, implementing payment gateways for websites or even as little as being on one of our social platforms (No contribution is too small!)

What is Heavyhash? Any why is it different
PoWx's goal in designing oPoW was to mimic the Bitcoin PoW construction (HashCash), maintaining the cryptographic security while ensuring that the PoW crypto puzzle is optimized for PoWx's “Target Paradigm” (photonic co-processors). As the major cost of PoW is evaluating the hash function of choice, the naive solution would be to find an optically computable hash. However, a design choice was made early on to avoid all-optical hashes and Physical One Way Functions - due to issues of repeatability and their poorly understood security properties. Creating a new hash optimized for photonic processing was also not considered due to the complexity and risk of deploying an untested hash function.

This leads to the selection of a hybrid design that composes digital hashing with low precision matrix-vector multiplication (intended for photonic acceleration) to produce HeavyHash. HeavyHash is an iterated composition of an existing hash function, e.g. SHA256, and a weighting function such that the cost of evaluation of HeavyHash is dominated by the computing of the weighting function. If the weighting function is dominated by the evaluation of a real value matrix-vector multiplication of sufficient size, it can be implemented with very high efficiency by photonic co-processors. The ratio of the cost of computing the hashes versus that of the weighting function is tunable within a large range due to their different complexity orders of magnitude.
Photonic Bitcoin has no affiliation with PoWx.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Even if your  goal is to be energy efficient as compared to bitcoin, we all know that people will still prefer bitcoin because of the established position in the market. So how are you going to attract crypto users to use your coin? Also, the common problem of new projects is the listing in exchanges. If you are only present in one or 2 exchanges, you will find out that adoption of your currency is very hard. So do you think you can list this coin in several exchanges?

That option will be available right at mainnet launch.

All is well now, we had a few issues with the pool on launch.
Happy mining!

Please note that this is a possible malicious clone of a legitimate project.

See www.PoWx.org/oBTC It reads:

***Please note oBTC is the ONLY blockchain we have ever published. Others using heavyhash are not affiliated with PoWx and are very possibly malicious. Any piece of software you get anywhere outside the PoWx GitHub may be malicious.***

Thank you for your post, all open-source code has been published on GitHub for everyone to see, we recommend all users to compile themselves and welcome it.
We understand your concerns but at this stage we will have to disagree.

It is still early days, we have a lot planned. What are we pumping and dumping? Developers do not have any coins, apart from those that we are currently mining once difficulty adjusted as we believe in our community and team.

Is it just me or this one being just a clone of Optical Bitcoin (oBTC)?
Same whitepaper, same algo, same total supply, close name (Photon - Optical), just modified block time. Nothing more, nothing less.

Are the devs merge mining this with OBTC?

But 1000+ blocks were mined within few hours, that’s 50k+ pbtc.
That’s kind of premine.
