My opinion is always good for telegram. It’s the best instant messaging platform, that allows users to send multimedia text & make voice and vedio calls. I personally use it.

I am using Telegram, but I do not trust believe that they are really supportive of "free speech" (The Telegram founder is best friends with oppressive state leaders  Roll Eyes)

And you must be very careful because there are so many scammers on TG.

Sometimes people are impersonating your best friends with their pic and bio and using the letter I (capital i) instead of l (lower case L) in their name - looks exactly the same in the Telegram client.

I use Telegram too, I certainly prefer it to other solutions (WA from Meta) but I continue to use everything because many of my friends continue to use WA.
If there are other better solutions, surely yes, but they are little used, so I should have 100 IM, also no thanks.

Telegram is great for me, it's true that there are scammers-make fake group, but they are detected quickly, you can always report spam or block. It's easy to use and always available, PC, phone.Good stuff.

If you plan to use telegram apps on mobile or desktop, there is nothing stopping you because it is your freedom to do so. I just want to ask, what are you planning?

For me, this telegram is a place where other groups of scammers come together and create other communities and most of them are also pretenders. So be careful anyway.

Then I also found a reason why you shouldn't use Telegram:

Quote
1. Telegram Chats Aren't End-to-End Encrypted by Default
2. Telegram Collects Your Contact Data
3. No Individual Read Receipts in Group Chats
4. Telegram Has Limited Support
5. Your Friends Might Not Use It
6. Ads and a Subscription Plan
7. Miscellaneous Telegram Concerns

My opinion on telegram is that you should be careful about it. When I open telegram, I did not join many of the groups that I have found myself to be in when I return back to the application and most of them are about cryptocurrency investment, trading signals etc. Most of them have bad plans for you to scam someone who does not suspect it like I have noticed from the nature of messages that they exchange there. You can just tell that it is from one or a few persons. There are also some good beneficial groups, but they have been outnumbered by the bad ones, so you have to be extra careful.

It's the same case with me. I'm often added to groups I'm not a member.Yes, there are a large number of scammers. Often, fake ones with the same or similar name are created from the basic group. And on the other hand, it is very easy to use and the conversation is quick, you can see the notifications. In any case, you should be careful.

I use Telegram but I don't like it much because we need to input our phone number.

I think you can use telgram without phone number. It won't help your credibility though.
People who contact me without phone number have a limited time to show their number or get kicked.

Telegram and WhatsAup almost have the same functions. But Telegram can contain more participants in groups. I rarely use this application. But I think it is a secured social media platform.
It is rumored that whatsap has a back door for its Government and the most insecure chatting platform. Telegram has its defect especially from group chat, where anyone can pick your contacts, cloud storage of ones information on someone else's server and  is also vulnerable to malware that could compromise the security of your device or steal your data. However, Telegram uses end-to-end encryption for messages and calls,  "Secret Chat" feature that uses end-to-end encryption and allows users to set a self-destruct timer for messages, supports two-factor authentication and its code is open source, which means that anyone can review it.

For me, Telegram is a place where I can find a lot of important information on any subject.
First, I started using TG to talk to people about crypto. But later I discovered that there are a lot of interesting groups, such as travelers, food lovers, et cetera.
So literally, there is everything you need, and you can communicate with people from around the world.

Ok, so I've been reading the Telegram FAQ's, and, of course, everything is perfect, and Telegram is the best thing to ever happen to the Internet. And, of course, I don't trust that kind of marketing BS.
So I'm looking for opinions from actual users, and/or people knowing better than me (doesn't take much), or anybody who feels they can add something.

What interests me is security, privacy, and the absence (hopefully) of all the stuff that has made Mark Zuckerberg "sadly famous" as of late.

So... GO!

I very rarely use Telegram. I know lots of people like it, but here are my biggest complaints...

1) Chats move way too fast once the groups get active. I know things get hectic when you've got 50,000 people all in one chat room. But leaving my computer for 15 minutes and having to scroll back through 200+ messages when I get back is just ridiculous..
2) I don't like the phone number requirement. Assign me a number if you want, but I do much more from the desktop than I do from mobile, and I don't like having to signup to a website using a mobile number..
3) I hate that people can just add me to groups. I'll be offer Telegram for like a month and open it up and suddenly I was added to like 3 groups I don't want to be in.

Those are the main reasons I almost never use Telegram. Kinda sucks because there are lots of crypto-related groups on there!

Hey, here is quick solutions for you

If you don't want to be added to group by other members you can done it by settings.

Also you can add time gap for messages using a bot like Rose. I usually set a time gap between users message 5 mins. Otherwise my 32K members group will be headache for me  Roll Eyes

Same situation brother. Nobody cares if their information got stolen. I think nobody even knows their information even got stolen. Although telegram is not 100% privacy protected. It is far better then meta related apps. They surely steals our data. I have seen these many times.

One thing I don't like about telegram is that it can be hacked. If you are a normal user you can easily get hacked via many exploits like malicious bots.

One time one of my friend fell victim to it. He couldn't access his account even though he had the number he registered with. The scammer would join various scam groups and mass texts other persons. They even dared to text the main user. Even threatened to hack the second account. Later we were able to recover the account but the harm was already done. It got blocked for scam activity, we couldn't text or join any group, the account got Scam tag. The account was completely useless.

Telegram is a vast platform. And it is filled with scammers. Although it is very resourceful platform. We can get our hands on anything. Still I would limit my usages. For family and stuff I use Whatsapp and for anonymity I use Telegram. I have to I have no other choice because even if I knew the disadvantages my friends and family doesn't.

Any piece of information can be extracted from any social media platform or chat applications like telegram, all you have to do is just to verify if the information is from a reliabel source. I don't actually throw away every information I get from any platform until I have verified it as false from authentic sources.

Do not hope to get informations from telegram alone and run with it. Loads of people exists in groups, its a mixed multitude, no one can vouch for what happens in there so be extremely careful while you're there

chat in telegram is public. we can see it all unless its pms afaik.and its not organized as discord where you can find particular discussions. if it weren't for those oinned messages, you'd be lost.

if you mean trusting telegram, i dont think you can fullly trust whoever created TG. you cant even trust Tor since it was onced used by the military. telegram require phone numbers which means you are already seen.

There is a good security because the number we have provided in the Telegram just we can enter through the number until we gave our number to any other.

The most I dislike in the telegram is that there are too many spam messages people are sending me and the way the are sending links one by one and some scammers are even applying for the marketing and just collecting information.

This thing mostly ruins my days and I don't want to open it even sometimes due to these spam messages which are on the top my chat and I had tried to find it not received but unfortunately I didn't find a way.

I don't really trust any social media information any longer and including telegram channel or group chat were people come together to interact because you can be easily be fraud from all this social hangout, after reading the write up of yours i notice that social media quick make someone famouy as  we are talking here, i prefer Twitter over any social media platforms

As without these Social Media I can't think life would be easy because if we didn't use WhatsApp how could even we interact with our relatives. I someone say we can talk by Mobile then how could we share a pictures of some some video through mobile numbers.

Another example is if we didn't use the Telegram app, as well all know most of the project marketing are now through the Telegram app. Previously there was not too much usage of Telegram but now a days after the start of the Telegram app mostly users do marketing through the telegram as someone wants to grow their community or someone wants to make their community etc. So, all these social Media have some use as its own place.

I think for beginners telegram is place that beginners can be easily scammed if time is not taking. Scsm activities are very common in telegram people just needs to be careful in telegram knowing that nothings is free. In telegram people will always want to prove that with them you make good profit in cryptocurrency and this is what some crypto beginners are looking for .do join telegram and think you can just benefit from meeting a stranger.

Telegram is very secure  I use it and I discovered they are very strict to their rules, although it depends on what the person want as for me telegram I found alot of Vita information, though there are some spaning that take place that can't be totally eradicated, this occurred generally in all social media.
