An e-mail account is not necessarily unsafe.
People can choose to make e-mail visible in order to get contacted, especially if they don't spend much time on the forum.
The forum offers a method to recover account even if the e-mail is compromised, but for that one has to put a safe bitcoin address here. The method may be slow, some specific steps need to be made, but one can be much more careful at keeping safe a bitcoin address than an e-mail account.

Some people can enable email 2fa, this will help them to many extent. But actually some people's email can be hacked and be used to reset their Bitcointalk password in order for hackers to be able to compromise the account as many people do not enable email 2fa and not practising security measures. So why not just still prevent this than enabling your email to be seeing by other members. Enabling email is not advisable.

Email is another contact option and most of the professionals using email for their deals so there is nothing wrong if you keep the email visible to everyone but be ready to tackle the phishing links which will be sent to you if they feel you got money and they can breach your device and steal all of them.

There are millions of public email addresses posted by private or business parties worldwide. The fact that they are public doesn't make them vulnerable unless someone targets them, finds out things through social engineering, or bruteforces a very weak password.
I think that when you register a Bitcointalk account, the option to hide your email from the public isn't turned on by default. You have to do it manually from your profile. I might be wrong, but I think that's the way it works.

You can't really hack someones account just by knowing his email address, however you can expect to receive more spam and phishing emails.
This member was probably not using only one email address for everything, but this was his public bitcointalk dedicated address.
This account and that his email address are not active for years (since 2014) and everyone have the option to hide or show email address on their profile.

the possibility of claims from people who can hack the e-mail account is possible. with the excuse of forgetting the password or someone else's account being hacked. but the forum has a security system to better activate such an account. it will not be easy to claim the account even though you have successfully hacked the email.
there is also a type of user who enters the original email when registering an account on the forum. and I guess it won't be a problem even if the email gets to someone else.

Although it is usually preferable to hide your email from your profile, especially for those whose email is not safe enough, some people choose to display it for the sake of offline contact, as indicated by other members, and some may not even know how to turn it off.

Telegram ID can be easily manipulated nowadays so I see  reasons why some users choose to display email instead.

Actually displaying email on profile or not is the user's own choice whether he wants to be known by many people or not. Yes, it's probably best not to show it especially if you don't want to get a lot of spam in your emails or other scam attempt, so you have every right to hide it from the public. In addition to email, you also have a preference to be able to show online status or hide it in your account. So this is an option but I believe there is a risk if it is email.

OP, if you care about privacy then you shouldn't show it but if you don't care or can anticipate anything that might come into your email then you shouldn't worry about that. The account you are asking about has been inactive since May 30, 2014, so maybe the email is also inactive and I don't think you need to worry.

If you're willing to do searching, then you'll also find plenty of Legendary on this forum that also have their email show on their profile. One of the most famous is vod.

Enable to display your email address on your profile page is not bad if you know how to secure you email and protect yourself from spam and phishing emails.

For newbies, they are more vulnerable to such attacks because they don't know how to protect themselves. They easily to open emails sent by strangers, click on links and their emails will be compromised.

Most attacks aren't very sophisticated, though depending on the type of person you're receiving spam emails or misleading information could potentially compromise your security. Though, I think most people with common sense know the telltale signs these days, and the users that would fall for this type of spam, would likely be compromised in another way even if they didn't expose their email address.

Email addresses were made to send, and receive information over the internet, so yeah email addresses were actually designed to be revealed to other people. Of course, if you care about privacy, and not exposing your email to every Tom, Dick, and Harry it's probably best to hide it.

I do agree with your last statement though, emails were originally designed to be shared among friends, obviously with how things have progressed with the internet, they've become so much more than that, and therefore its common these days to put your email on your website etc.

Another good idea is to have more than one email address and designate each of them for a particular purpose, that's cause nowadays there is absolutely nothing you can register on the internet without putting an email address, thus instead of you to use just one email with many notifications and messages coming into it from different sources, have a couple of emails and stipulate them for one thing or the other, so you know the sort of message you'll be expecting in each of them, in my opinion, that could be helpful to easily spot unsolicited spam/phishing attacks/messages.

This should be quite common for anyone who cares about their privacy and security, although most people usually only have one email with a very weak password, and then use that same password when creating an account here on the forum and anywhere else. Whether such an attitude stems from laziness or people may think they should not have more than 1 e-mail, I certainly do not know.

When it comes to email security, I would warn everyone to be careful which option they add to recover their account, because if you use your mobile phone number, you need to know that hackers can use it through SIM swap and thus gain possession of your email and everything connected with it. It is safer to add the e-mail address of another account, and if you want additional protection (free&encrypted) I suggest ProtonMail.

That's good advice for anyone regardless of whether the goal is to maintain privacy or to increase security.
It's good if we use 1 email for 1 different platform if we care about privacy and security. I have been doing this method for a long time where I will use a different email between forum account, exchange, gambling site and other social media and make sure each site also uses a different password. The same method can also be done with bitcoin and I think we would be advised to use 1 address for 1 transaction if we need to maintain financial privacy.
