Ticker : DRI
A Fork of : Bitcoin
Chain Type : Proof-of-Work
Algorithm : SHA256
Total Supply : 24M DRI
Block Time : 10 minutes
Block Reward : 90 DRI
Halving : Every 133470 blocks (roughly 2.5 years)
Premine : 0 (Genesis block created on 17th of December 2021)
Port : 4441
Official Discord server: https://discord.gg/7dhvjuvBJY

Welcome to DRiyal (Digital Riyal).
- This is a Bitcoin Core fork (huge thanks to the Bitcoin development team).
- It aims at unifying the current FIAT Riyals used in many countries.
- THE goal is to replace the current MADA payment and hopefully many other FIAT networks in these countries.
- Premine is zero, I started mining this coin myself using my main PC (Haswell-E) just before I started writing this topic.
- Listing this coin on a couple exchanges (Graviex, Crex24) is the next step.
- Genesis block was created at unix time : 1639713804
- Basic block explorer is in the works and will be released in a couple of days, in the meantime you should use the wallet as a block / transactions explorer.
- Binaries provided are for Linux and Windows.
- Source code will be distributed when the network is stabilized around blocks 400~500.

DRiyal 2.1 Linux + Windows Binaries can be downloaded from the github repo:https://github.com/driyal/driyal

NOTE: The provided bootstrap file should be extracted into .driyal folder before launching the wallet. Otherwise your wallet won't sync with the network.

Don't forget to check the downloaded .tar.xz (Linux) or .zip (Windows) files against the SHA256 files provided.

- Next steps: Listing on an exchange and getting the block explorer up and running.

11/01/2022 : The blockchain went corrupted at blocks 1604 - 1605 - 1606 (And possibly other later blocks) which prevents new clients from syncing with the network and would prevent miners from receiving rewards upon finding a new block. The main nodes are taken down at the moment for a hard reset of the blockchain. A new daemon/client version will be released in a couple of days to prevent this from happening on the new chain. My sincere apology for the miners. The new chain will start with a lower difficulty to compensate for this unexpected reset.

For the moment, stop mining on the old chain. An announcement will be posted prior to the launch of the new chain so that everyone can get an equally fair start at mining. Thanks.

16/01/2022 The new chain will go live tonight, along with the github repository and Linux executables. Windows executables will be available too if they finished building tonight and passed the tests.

Link is empty.
I thought you mentioned a Linux wallet?
No need to mine 400 blocks to 'stabalize' a coin. 5-10 is enough, then add checkpoints and recompile the wallet.
Will PoS come to play in the future? Many new coins now are PoW/PoS hybrid.

Yes. Nodes are currently down for more testing.
Will release a Linux wallet by the end of the day.
This will be a pure PoW coin.

Your goal of replacing the MADA payment seems difficult to achieve here.
Looking at your project, I don't know how strong your foundation is.
Are you working with ME merchants or shops so you can introduce your coin?
Just to test if your digital riyal will be accepted by these merchants.
Because if not, how can you replace their current fiat system if no merchant is accepting your coin as payment?

Windows wallet?

Will provide a Windows executable when I get back from work.

Blockchain restarted?

Seems fine albeit very difficult to mine at the moment. Check blockhash of block 3220 :
Code:

At the moment I'm still early, very early on this project. And it is a VERY slow project development-wise indeed. However the first piece of introduction will be through a Point of Sale system I'm currently working on for a client.

Curious here, are you residing in the middle east or is a middle eastern native? Because what I have encountered here, sometimes they will create a specific project focusing like for example in Africa, Asia or Middle East, but they are not living in that area or is a native of that area. They just want to get the audience from that area. Because if you are not residing in that place, would be hard for you to get potential merchants or shops that will use your coin.

Good news: The block explorer is nearly done, the only bit that remains is displaying transactions.

Now for the bad news: It seems the current chain is corrupted. Mainly blocks 1604, 1605, 1606 were incorrectly mined. And since the daemon stops at these blocks I suspect that there are many others that are corrupted as well. Unfortunately, a chain restart may be necessary. For people who mined in the past few days, did you receive any rewards with the blocks you mined?

Excellent. If you received rewards today, kindly STOP your wallet, pack your .driyal directory (minus your wallet.dat file) into a zip or tar file and send it to me. It might be a problem with my seed nodes only.

Hello friend, I am interested in the currency and of course excited to mine some of them and keep them in my wallet, my question is the following: will it be possible to keep them safe in the wallet that you offer now? I recently lost my earnings with a coin after updating the wallet and restarting the block chain Sad I don't want the same thing to happen to me, I will support you by mining some blocks Smiley
