I dont know if anybody collects Blockstream Wallets but they just released a Limited Edition Jade Transparent. I’ve used Blockstream products and they are extremely well made and high quality.

Description

The same great Blockstream Jade Hardware Wallet, but in a brand new limited edition color. The transparent green Jade not only looks great, but it will bring you back to your 90’s childhood.

Fully open-source for both hardware and software, Blockstream Jade secures your keys offline in combination with Blockstream Green, Blue Wallet, Nunchuck, Sparrow, Electrum, and much more. This hardware wallet supports both Bitcoin and its leading sidechain, the Liquid Network. Out of the box, Blockstream Jade enables you to send and receive Bitcoin and all Liquid assets issued on the Liquid Network. This includes L-BTC, major assets such as Tether (USDt), L-CAD, and JPYS (which Ledger already supports on the Nano S), and any tokens issued by other Liquid users.

Key Features of Jade Hardware Wallet

what i dislike about this is the same as several of the ledger versions - there is no external marking on the outside of the box - they tweeted about this late last year and was like "oops we didnt mark the boxes."

I have several ledgers I had to open just to verify that they were indeed the versions they were supposed to be.

thankfully i never plan to sell anything but if i did, an open hw is useless and diminished in value.

That doesn’t apply in this case as there is only 1 Jade Transparent version. In the case of ledgers that all look the same I hear you though.

talking about the box - look at the box it comes in, it matches the box the regular black one comes in. so how to tell the two apart? I mean they probably have them separated for inventory/shipping purposes but if I have one of each, how can I tell without opening them?

exactly lol - I was just stating that I wish companies would mark em - some of the ledger ones were - the pizza edition, the whitepaper one but not the doge one - the aabt one came in a different box so that helped id that one.  I have two x's though that have same box but different ledgers inside.

This wallet looks interesting (and I appreciate OP posting it, as I like to collect some of the more unique hardware wallets) but I would also recommend looking at Trezor and ColdCard wallets. They tend to get the most recognition for all the right reasons. Here’s a good write up on ColdCard- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405919.msg60552395#msg60552395

Thanks for the feedback.
So far Trezor is at the top of my list and that is probably what I will end up going with.
I still have some paper wallets that I printed out using my old Mycelium Entropy before regretfully selling it, facepalm. So have moved my few sats to them, still keeping my coins offline Wink

I did like the KeepKey at the start, but it was less desirable when the Chrome app was stopped and we were forced to use ShapeShift to access the wallet.

That thing does look nice!

Generally I prefere a Ledger over other HW wallets, too.
I hate it, when a crucial software is discontinued. Happend with older ledgers, too. They want you to buy their new stuff, but not interested in a fancy HW wallet with 32 bit color screen in full-HD. The less complex the better.

One thing to note, Trezor needs a passphrase to keep your wallet safe from physical key extraction due to it's lack of an SE

Blockstream Jade remains fully open-source, doesn't have an SE, but it is also protected from physical key extraction because of it's unique security model which utilizes a blind oracle for PIN unlock (however it can also be used statelessly like a SeedSigner without the blind oracle)

Let me know if you have any questions about it, disclaimer I work for Blockstream
