When you have to, you have to. Honestly I will probably cash out some in 1-2 years too cannot wait forever. Time will tell.

Hey, congratz. I dare say you are within 1% or less. How many people haven't sold anything since 2013? I believe 99% have sold some, if not all. But great efforts yield great rewards and you are an example of someone who has a clear plan and executes it come rain or shine.

I hope that in a few years you will open a post telling us how you have reached your goal. Although I hope you never sell 100% of your bitcoin, and seeing how you have followed your plan, I guess that will be the case.

I can not imagine how big your profit is if you are not sold your bitcoin since 2013 because that is too big a number on your wallet Grin

We must learn from you to become a real holder that will not impact the fluctuation of the price because it is not easy to manage our emotions when we see the price move. If you have other sources of income from 2013 until now and you always get an income, I am sure you will be easy to become a holder. But that will be different if we do not have much money and still struggle with our lives to fill our needs. That will make us spend our bitcoin to fill the need.

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!
If it is about BTC, I also have positive thinking that this willl be still a very worthy investment. But unfortunately, I have no big amount of BTC to hold  Cheesy
Only few
I am sure that it is not only about the amount but also about the trust to BTC for long-term investment, if worthy or not. Some people may say shit of this. but I do the same as you, I believe in Bitcoin that will always have great value, with worthy investment, without any hype promise or expectation. the value will be always continuing. Although this coin has been experiencing some bearish and bullish time periods, this will still have that value and worth

Means for 9 years you are still holding? as in never sell a single Satoshi? You are an amazing person mate because I could never take that waiting if i see my investment increased x5 . but you ? carry to hold the multiple increase happened in your funds.
also this mean that your trust in crypto is indeed that high that you can risk more value from your investments.

But I know that you will still hold for long but at least you have already let some close to you to learn about your wallet keys? because there are incident or some unexpected things may come and you must be ready and let them have your funds if things happened .

Man you are so great and this post is worth sharing, How i wish i have the guts to do how you portray your role being a Bitcoin Holder.

I'm not rich but at the same time I'm confident that I may never win the lottery, so BTC is probably my only chance to become rich and live a worry free life so until I see it happening won't sell a bit Smiley

Good mindset mate, I think I will go with it and hopefully I can be a good holder just like you.

Yep for those who are thinking of hitting a lottery, the chances are slim. So instead, it's better to invest on bitcoin, by all means possible, DCA or if you have capital from time to time and then just hold and protect it in your wallet. Maybe a good wallet like a hardware wallet will be a good one if you are thinking of doing what @virtualdn has done in the last 109 years.

If you've taken the ride from $200 to $30,000 without selling, might as well see how high it will go.  A smart man once said to run your winners long and cut your losers short.  Bitcoin has been a long running winner for quite some time now.  Not selling is better than many people who have purchased Bitcoin during that period.
At some point, if Bitcoin continues to rise or potentially stabilises in the future, then one can probably assume that most places are accepting Bitcoin at this point, and therefore there might not actually be any point in converting it back to fiat, considering the inflation that fiat will forever be plagued with.

I can imagine though if you are sitting on a big stack and will owe a ton of money in taxes, you have to be toying with the idea of moving to Puerto Rico right?  I've never been myself, but I have to admit that spending 7 months there to save a bundle on taxes is more than just a little tempting.  I think if Bitcoin did go parabolic before summertime hits, I might find myself there.
Seems like everyone that has a little bit of money goes there. What's the tax there 11.5% regardless of your income or is tiered depending on the amount of income you earn? Personally, even if I was in the position of being an American Citizen, and having a boat load of money, I'd probably not get on with the climate over there. I guess its a no brainer for most people though, the only issue would be healthcare not being free, but I guess most Americans are already paying for healthcare anyway.

I'm not rich but at the same time I'm confident that I may never win the lottery, so BTC is probably my only chance to become rich and live a worry free life so until I see it happening won't sell a bit Smiley
Bitcoin is the real lottery, the actual lottery is a poor mans tax Wink.

Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!

It's very easy, if you can afford it. Most people can't.

It's not easy because I'm not a rich person. But I dream to become one one day and this is what keeps me hodling. It's hard but doable.

But now u must have become a rich person if you are holding even a single bitcoin. Since in 2013, the bitcoin was so cheap, so can you tell us how many bitcoins are you holding at the moment?

Its rightly said that crypto rewards to those who can hold it for maximum time. What are your plans for when you will be selling your savings ?
You much have a target selling price in mind.

Being rich depends on anyone's target. A poor person may think he is rich if he holds $10,000, but for some it's just a small money, that's because we have different satisfaction and for me, although 1 BTC is big enough already but I don't call myself rich if I own at least 1 BTC.

It was his desire to keep holding and enjoy seeing his portfolio grow which people can't certainly imagine doing it in real life. And I think it was not hard for the rich people which probably he is but for us who just have limited resources and we sometimes just rely in crypto, that is really impossible.
Now, he become legendary and I'm sure he can do hold for more years.
Well, OP, I was truly amaze of what you've done. I want to be like you but it can't...wish you goodluck then.

You can be a good hodler like OP if you can manage your finances well and won't end up lacking funds most of the time. But honestly, i find you OP as a very resilient person. Its hard to persist when you can make a lot of profits if you sell your coins instead of hodling them. I guess being you will definitely earn a huge profits in the future when all your sacrifices will paid off. Keep hodling.

Its not dumb but a privilege. Being financially stable or in control enough to not have to spend all the bitcoins you are saving, you are very lucky and I am pretty that if you ask anybody here, no one will ever sell their bitcoin unless necessary or in a tight emergency. Had I been in such a situation, I would only accumulate and would not care about trading, even more so after seeing the increase in value as time passes. Anyway, congratulations on holding up to this day. Having enough money is also considered as a personal trait. If you have an advantage, why not use it, right?

I'm sure that it wasn't easy for you. You really have the patience to hold for such a long period. I hope everyone would have the same capability wherein there will be no need to spend your long time investment for your necessities. Not everyone has the same capability yet we could also have the courage to hold for a long time.

Its my wish to hold bitcoin as long as i want, but until now it was never realized. Good for you OP that you were able to do the right thing.

"Investors that have strong convictions and have done the research are able to hold for long periods of time, riding out rocky market events." That is according to Prince Alwaleed Bin Tala, a well known in the investing world.

Unfortunately I don’t have BTC anymore. I gave them up last December 2020, but ended up regretting when it moons all the way up to $20k+ and almost touched down $70k too. Only ETH so far I have bought at cheaper price under $200 and holding it until now.

Right now it’s on a up and down trend between $34k to $37k, so I might be planning to do some DCA on this every month.
To whom you gave it? That person can be the happiest person living on earth if he still holds that btc you gave until now and if ever he solds it I think he will still gave you something so cheer up man. You may loose your btc but what important is that you helped someone. That is a rare trait and not all people can do that.

In the end you still have your eth with you and your already seeing the fruits of your efforts, just hold on for it a little longer because I believe that there is a bright future coming from eth. Holding btc or eth is not a dumb decision but holding junk coins are, however holding btc and eth is risky due to their volatile nature.

To whom you gave it? That person can be the happiest person living on earth if he still holds that btc you gave until now and if ever he solds it I think he will still gave you something so cheer up man. You may loose your btc but what important is that you helped someone. That is a rare trait and not all people can do that.

If I had to bet, I'd say his BTC went to Brian Armstrong or maybe Changpeng Zhao - are some things clearer to you now? Wink Maybe he mispronounced, but I'm sure he meant that he sold his BTC probably because he thought that was the max price he would achieve. I agree that his move made someone happy (billionaires who have become even richer), and I also agree that not everyone can do it - selling BTC just months after halving and missing ATH last year is not a smart move.

Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!
What you have done is definitely good. There are many more like you for whom the unfulfilled future will be bright. But it's very easy, if you can't afford it. Most people can't because they sell for half the trouble.

Very cool and amazing and I can't imagine how you can do it from 2013 to 2022 you still keep your holdings and at that time if I'm not mistaken bitcoin price was still around $1,150 at the end of 2013, if multiplied by ATH yesterday it was around $65,000.
I can't imagine how much profit you can get if you do it yesterday, although I don't know how much you hold but at that time the price of bitcoin was still very easy to get in large quantities, because the price was still cheap.
and if you plan to continue holding it I think it's a very good choice because even though the downside is always there, the bitcoin price will continue to rise from the previous ATH, and I wonder what kind of strength and patience you have if it continues.

Am not sure I can be as tough as you to hold btc through these years and through all different ath without being tempted to sell, you are one true holder bro, 2013 till date is a long period of holding and it looks like you will continue, you have made yourself a fortune, congratulations for your determination.
