 the thing you can do is pick a coin and research what their team is doing if you think the coin is good you can buy it gradually because after a bear market there will definitely be a bull market so buy and hold I think is the right choice at the moment.

Bear market has been here since last time and it will soon go. It is hard to earn money in a bear market but you can do short term trades, you just need to play it safely. Sell coins immediately once seeing some gains and then buy again when the price goes down. Cannot say that staking is a bad idea because from what I understand, staking is like a long term holding.

You can buy now at a discounted price to be able to stake more so more money for you to harvest in the future. for mining, not just the bear that can affect your profit but other things as well like the electricity bills, maintenance cost, mining equipment you must determine them first.

Another option is that if you are thinking about a long term strategy then you can buy or mine coins right now, this is not going to give you profits immediately but you will be able to get them for a cheap price now if you buy them and then you can hold them until we see yet another bull market, however if you are not in a hurry I will recommend that you study the markets for some months before doing anything, that way you will have a clearer understanding of what you can achieve on your own and the strategy you want to use in the market, even if at that time it is still going down in value.

I'm afraid for those projects that still got staking methods during these days of bear season that it won't prosper in the future. Situation is really unpredictable this time, so we better be careful and smart of our decision making even though you're not newbie nobody is excepted with loses. I would highly say that invest now and hold, not invest now and sell later. Why I say this is that we need to emphasize that the market won't recover fast, no investment that has instant returns that is why we sometimes hold longer to make a profit and that is the thing we do or else, that makes no sense for us to invest.

Mining? It is too expensive to invest in this, This is only for rich people. And if you're not, better to consider buying only as this is even more profitable if you got the right coins.

Even if you stake on chain,,, you still run the risk of the protocol itself rug pulling or getting hacked. Of course I guess now if you stake on socalled verified pools like at BSC or even on Uniswap or Sushi the risk is still very low, but it is a risk nevertheless. Or what if the browser or platform got spied on and your private key is leaked?

And all that for a few percentage per year
