Let's see: at least one in four smokers will die from cancer caused by smoking, and these are not only various types of lung cancer, at least 80% of which are caused by smoking, but also to a greater or lesser extent: laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, esophageal adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, pancreatic ductal carcinoma, gastric adenocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma and some others, the connection to which has not yet been proven. At the same time, smokers still have an average population risk of dying from cancer of about 10%. Therefore, roughly added, the risk of death from cancer for a person who smokes for more than 10 years (on average, a pack of cigarettes per day) is about 35-40%.

https://www.cancer.org/healthy/stay-away-from-tobacco/health-risks-of-tobacco/health-risks-of-smoking-tobacco.html

It is also worth remembering that chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema, various ischemic pathologies are almost guaranteed.

However, all this harm is not due to nicotine, in the first place, which by itself can even reduce the risk of certain diseases, such as Parkinson's disease (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-88910-4), but due to tobacco combustion products, such as benzopyrene, benzanthracene, acetaldehyde, and others.
This all leads to the fact that 50% of smokers die prematurely and, mostly painfully, due to the consequences of smoking.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2928221/

Well, people who say that they smoke all their lives and everything is fine, you are just lucky to be not in these 50%, but this is a lottery, not a pattern.

It's nice to know that some peeps don't also see anything wrong with smoking; well I don't either.
I DON'T SMOKE!
I'm a tutor and a healthy practitioner but if it's legalized in most countries (especially the Asians) then it could be assumed that it's taken to sustain 'em from cold.

Smoking isn't good for the lungs but it all depends on an individual's system.
My boyfriend smokes. There's little I can do to stop him totally, but I'm happy that he's slowly losing up.

Smoking is becoming a lot less popular now. The youngsters don’t seem to find it cool like they did when I was at school. I do see people vaping around the town but tobacco smoking seems to be a lot less common than it used to be.

Where I live it is banned to smoke in bars and restaurants. I think this lessened the want to smoke. The government has made it less appealing for people, I assume this must be putting a lot less pressure on our health services.

Smoking is the inhaling as well as exhaling of fumes from plant materials. That's if you asked the definition.

If you ask its effect, it is an addictive act. In the long run, smoking can cause several health issues which can culminate to death.

Should you need to start smoking I will advise not to. And if you need to stop it, then my advice for you is to apply the measure, I don't know what to call it, maybe "Even and Odd Reduction Measure".

If you used to smoke 20 wraps a week, you can start reducing it by 2, and smoke 18. Then the number can further be reduced by 3, making it 15 in a week. Maintain the same 15 in the next 2 weeks. Then further reduce it this time by 2 again in the next week, and then 3 subsequent week. Maintain the current number of 10 wraps for a period of 2 more weeks or 3. Keep reducing it by 2 again this time and smoke 8 in a week. The next week you can reduce it by 3.

The idea is that reduction should be 'even' and 'odd' for every new week or month, applied to the number you used to smoke. This is ideal and works well. Complete abstinence is assured if this measure is applied religiously.
