What an uppercut by Fury, he knocked out Whyte with a ferocious shot in round 6.
Great to see the update that Tyson Fury won the fight easily. The weakness of Dillian Whyte to the upper cut was exploited in this fight as well. Dillian Whyte lost to Alexander Povetkin and Anthony Joshua with the same upper cut and great to hear that Tyson Fury won the fight, unfortunately i was not able to watch the fight live as it was not available in my country which was a bummer.

Super happy for Fury. That uppercut was right on the button, right on the spot where you just can't walk after being hit. If ever you're looking for a KO punch, that's the place to land it, perfect. I thought he just glanced him on the side of his face but when I watched it again that was the big one, all his weight behind it too. It's a wonder how Dillian got up. Dillian always gets caught with uppercuts and Tyson set that one up perfectly, then pushed him over like a tree stump. He knew that was it, you can feel it when you connect like that he knew it was over. Totally one sided but a good effort from Whyte against a much larger and more skilful opponent.
Fury still has it he just needs one big opponent to deliver that big blow I have no doubt that Fury will end this via knock out although there's an announcement of retirement he is still good for another fight even if he is a heavy favorite against Usyk or Joshua I still want to see him win all the belts and then he can retire and no one will question him.

In his victory speech he claimed it was probably his final fight. Is Fury really going to retire?
I also heard about his retirement plan after his fight against Whyte but I don't think he's going to retire now because he once talked about ending his boxing journey after he defeat Wilder which he didn't retire because he want to fight an opponent that worth handling over the belt to before his retirement and I am sure if Anthony Joshua defeats Usyk in their next fight Fury will like to fight him before he retires.

Fury can do whatever he wants with his career but regardless of who wins the rematch of Usyk and Joshua you can be sure there is going to be a very strong push by the fans and the promoters to get an unification fight and the amount of money he will be offered to fight at least once more is going to be incredible, so I doubt he is retiring now, however if he can reject that fight despite the money and the significance such a fight could have then that will mean that his mind is definitely made and there is no one that will make him change his mind about his retirement.

He tasted retirement before its quite a long one but this one, there's a possibility that he will finally retire for good he has nothing to prove anymore the other belts don't mean to him because he is the lineal champion and the lineal champion is very important because it just proved that he has beaten a worthy champion with that lineal belt.
This is the best time to retire an undefeated record and a championship belt but we really never know let's finish the Usyk - Joshua fight and see where circumstances take these fighters.

About his retirement, am sure Usyk or AJ will tease him out of retirement if he eventually retires after this victory over Whyte. And I want that to happen because I want him to fight either AJ or Usyk.

The thing is he doesn't want to fight long enough to realize that he doesn't have it anymore, for boxers the last to give in is the body, the mind still wants it but the body is not reacting to what the mind is saying

He said it that he does not want what happened to Vladimir to happen to him. He wants to exit the stage to give way to younger boxers to come up the ladder. Vladimir stayed longer and enjoyed the dominance of the ring until he got beaten, this he said he wants to avoid. But Fury is just 33 years old and Vladimir he compared himself to was 41 when he retired. I know it is his body and decision to make but am thinking 33 is too young for a champ to quit. He still looks very fit to me, except he is struggling with a health issue.

Hard to believe Fury speaks about retirement, as there are still belts he does not have Cheesy I think Fury did not really felt his opponent, Whyte gave him only first competitive round probable, and then Fury completely controlled the fight. If Fury want to retire in a cool way, he must have a win over a true champion (like Usyk), or top2 in boxing organization (like AJ). Ending career after a win over top4 does not look cool to me.

As a boxer, you don't wanna end up losing like how Whyte lose. You don't wanna wait that day.

For a boxer who wants to leave a legacy, its best to retire undefeated which he will continue to get projects and endorsements like Floyd.
He is still young though. There was a breaking news after the fight because, Fury vs Ngannou might happen next year. Its what they were planning but could be just a exhibition which is fun for the sports these days. Boxing exhibition is a trend.

Everyone has the right to decide when they want retirement, this is mostly influenced by the ambition or how ambitious one is. For Fury, i think he is fairly satisfied with his career so far in boxing having won a lot of championship belts, no one cam deny him the record of being one of the most successful boxers on earth.

Whyte made the win an easy one for Fury, it was expected of him to win, but not by a knockout. Whyte has a history of most of his game loses coming from uppercuts, Fury must have studied this prior to the fight and targeted Whyte for that perfect opportunity to execute his plan which he got. Whyte failed to work on his weakness and that lost him the fight.

It seems he will not break his promise to his wife and he will retire but he also left the door open to a return. It is a contradiction but that is what he said in his post-fight press conference.

I only get to see the highlights of the fight because of the difference in my time at the event but that huge uppercut makes all the difference I thought Whyte can manage to continue because he manage to get us but he lose his equilibrium, Fury says after the Whyte he will retire we don't know if he is going to honor his words.

Gypsy King does the damage, even the upper cut that lead to the KO wasn't a clean one. Dillian went in and was throwing no punches nor keeping his guard up. These shorter guys need to learn how Mike Tyson beat taller guys or better yet watch better boxers like otto wallin. That guy punished Fury but fury won by points.
You can't be Shorter, with a shorter reach and yet be slower. How are you gonna hit the taller guy. undecided. Dillian did rubbish, way worse than wilder.

This win just opened a lot of opportunities for Fury there's talk about the Ngannou fight he even invited Julius in the interview plus the winner of the Usyk - Joshua will make a huge demand for Fury to break his promise, we never know but an all British fight is what British community is waiting to happen and so are the boxing fans around the world.
The Fury - Joshua has been a long wait and now there's another for that to happen if Usyk wins then he can retire but of course, if Joshua wins people are going to talk about the Fury - Joshua and tempt Fury to comeback.

I think the money is on Fury vs Joshua and this could be the biggest fight n British Boxing history. So for sure Fury can get out of that retirement and fight Joshua. But that is if Joshua will win against Usyk. Nevertheless, either one of them can't beat the version of Fury no matter what angle you look at it. Fury is way above this guy, in terms of power and boxing IQ.

South Park , you're right the decision is over to Fury but if you and aioc see Fury's habit when he begs Anthony Joshua to please beat Usyk you'll see that he wants the unification fight. Besides, I believe a lot of boxing enthusiasts and promoters also want to see the unification fight.
In addition to that, a lot of people also want to see him take on Francis Ngannou the UFC heavyweight champion so I believe he still has two more fights before he retires.

Maybe I'm wrong and this is exactly the case (one in a hundred) but I have heard so many such stories and seen so many departures (from the national team, from a professional career, etc.) that were only part of the return and attracting the attention of the public that I I just don't believe it.
It’s a pity that we didn’t see a competitive fight and everything ended quite early, but I hope that the Usyk-Joshua fight will follow a similar scenario and Usyk will win without any problems.

If you look at the names, yes, but in my opinion it would be a dull fight (more of a beating than a contest). Fury is Usyk + 25 kg (and an iron head that allows him to return from knockouts) so I think that given the fact that Usyk > Joshua, Fury >> Joshua. I would have looked at Usyk vs Fury with more interest, although the result is a foregone conclusion here, for obvious reasons.

It seems he will not break his promise to his wife and he will retire but he also left the door open to a return. It is a contradiction but that is what he said in his post-fight press conference.

There's no retirement in boxing, they can still have a fixed match later on and it happens in other boxing as well.
Fury did a great job and won the match, maybe he is still on a big hype after this and talks about his retirement. Well, on the other hand Whyte deserve the payment as well so even if he lose the match here he can still have the money as promised, this is how boxing works after all.

Tyson Fury is done with boxing and retired for good and the next fight he is interested is against the UFC champion Francis Ngannou and they are planning to do some kind of hybrid fight with small gloves and so on and they know and we know that would be a huge fight for the fight fans and hope Dana White will not interfere in between.

That's exactly the same thing that runs in my head. Joshua vs Fury could have been a super fight had Joshua not humiliated by Ruiz and then defeated by Usyk. Had Joshua continued his boxing career and added big victories to his credentials he could have a strongly anticipated match against Fury, but that is not the case. Joshua doesn't have a colorful professional boxing credentials and then he got defeated twice already. Fury vs Usyk is a much bigger match.

Was quite a lacklustre fight until that uppercut came out of nowhere.

The Fury's are all a bunch of contradictions. His father comes out with some wise stuff sometimes and then goes and completely contradicts himself in the next sentence.

Don't listen to him regarding retirement. Most of that was likely just trying to sell this fight. He even brought Ngannou out and into the ring after the victory to try hype up the bout so it looks like that fight is probably going to happen next year. I'm sure he will fight the winner of Aj/Usyk as well. Maybe even both of them as AJ will struggle to win the belts back (though I don't think it's impossible). Maybe he will just look to do huge exhibition matches on his own terms but I doubt it's the last we'll see of Fury fighting. Keep an eye out if he vacates the belts or not. If he does then that will be a pretty good indicator he's done with fighting for them but is he going to walk away from the belts that easy? I'm not so sure. I think fights against Usyk/AJ will still be bigger than the Whyte fight so even if AJ doesn't have a belt if that fight comes up I'm sure he will take it again.

That Knockout win was a nice way to conclude his boxing career, congratulations to him, he really gives his very best to secure his clean 24-0 record which is one of the best records in the heavyweight division. We have already seen how other boxers struggled to keep their record clean when they are facing some strong opponents and most of them are not successful to do so but Tyson Fury is one of a kind, so retiring after this win is an unforgettable memory for the boxing fans out there.
