Trezor has added support for lightning payments in Trezor Shop.
They announced it over their Facebook page yesterday. I don't see any mention of it on the blog on their official site.

Here is a screenshot from the checkout page that confirms added support for LN payments:

Interesting.

It is curious that trezor suite does not support lightning payments yet. Anyway, you can use your trezor wallet with Electrum or some other wallet which supports lighting to buy stuff in the store.

I don't think they have any plans to start supporting LN either, see this:

While many of our users have asked about Lightning network integration, it is not a feature that makes sense for a hardware wallet.
Bitcoin Lightning transactions require that both the sender and receiver are online at the same time, which means your Trezor device would need to be connected online and unlocked any time that you are expecting a payment. While it would be possible to implement this feature, it undermines the purpose of having a hardware wallet.
To make the most of Lightning transactions, it is recommended to use a hot wallet on your computer or mobile, and then transfer the received balance to your Trezor wallet for safekeeping.

That's because it doesn't work. If your node isn't online at all times, you can be cheated by the channel partner. 'Online' in this case means you need to have software running as well as access to private keys. With a hardware wallet, it would mean it needs to be plugged in at all times and have the ability to sign transactions without user interactions, which would be a huge security risk / attack vector.

I guess it could be possible to run a watchtower that notifies you in case of a cheating attempt somehow, but it would be less than optimal. Also always keep in mind hardware wallets can give a false sense of security ('now I'm unhackable...') and the risk of lost funds is a bit higher in LN than otherwise, so I feel it's justified that HW wallet manufacturers want to stay on the safe side.

They published the same news on their twitter page without much fuss, maybe because they are using third party cryptocurrency payment gateway Confirmo.net.
Confirmo added support for Lightning Network last month, and they published their own LN public node.
I think they are also from Czech Republic like Trezor developers so they might be some connection between them.

I think so too. Confirmo doesn't mention where they are from on their official website, but some of their social media posts include links to Czech websites. Such as this one or this.
It's interesting that Confirmo has been processing payments for Trezor since 2017 and judging by the brands mentioned on their About Us page, Trezor is their most popular partner.
