Hello everybody

I've been taking some time to get Coldkey back on it's feet, mainly to avoid the same mistakes on my end.
Really, providing cool and meaningful cold storage wallets is a heck of a dream job.

We believe that the dawn of physical crypto items didn't occur yet, and are taking every step to make Coldkey a perennial project in the industry.

So in order to bring our project to the next level, I'm honored and blessed to welcome owlcatz within Coldkey.

Moving forward, he will be primarily responsible for interfacing with you, Coldkey aficionados.
He will also be helping with the website, as his experience and knowledge of IT is very precious.
From now on, we are making things happen at Coldkey together.

Honestly if it wasn't for Zepher, owlcatz and I wouldn't have this friendship going on.
(miss you so so much Z... ='( <3)

We're currently setting up the Discord and refining our backend systems.
A new website will be available very shortly as well.

I and only myself will remain in charge of generating the private keys and producing the Coldkeys.
This will be well specified furthermore on the upcoming Coldkey website.


Besides this amazing news, a few updates for you :

- If you are a customer with an outstanding order from me, owlcatz will be reaching out to you very soon to sort out the situation.

- A new limited Coldkey release is going to be announced and available as of tomorrow.
(It's going to happen in the oldschool bitcointalk way. Sales on thread. )

- We don't want to overshare our plans, and there is much much more to come ! Prepare to be blown away.

Hi everyone!

Thank you all for the well wishes, it's been crazy and a lot of fun so far!

Just a general update on the ongoing (slightly delayed) reboot of Coldkey:

Since I started working with Yogg on this project, I've helped him identify many areas where things must be improved - MOST importantly, this means no more sales of cards that are not 100% ready to be shipped in a timely manner!  Secondly, we are committed to NOT making mistakes (Which of course is not 100% possible, but we will try our hardest)!

Now that I understand much more about the amount of work, care and effort that must be put into each order/card, we have both realized things must be changed / streamlined in different ways, including a "Road Map" we are both working on for future releases/surprises/exciting things we have planned.  

We did get a few packages sent out, but then Yogg fell sick the other day with a viral infection, and has been resting a bit, but is now back on track, and he should have everyone's order out by this weekend or Monday at the very latest. (Some of these orders also contain some older orders for some users as well, which ofc slowed things down a bit too).

This will not happen again, trust me.    We are now 100% committed to Customer service & satisfaction being #1 - That said, the next releases of Coldkey's will be 100% ready to ship upon sales, and will be shipped promptly upon ordering, website or not.

Bitbills sales thread 2 ETA: 3rd week of April

History Series Serial Numbers  

For those of you collecting serialized sets of the History series, we are going to continue to offer people their current serials moving forward. (As for how exactly that will work/cost, Please do not ask yet, as we do not know, but it must be continued for the greater good)!

So, you can rest assured your current/prior serial number will be there moving forward.

We are a year behind on the History series, so that is going to resume slowly, but we also still need more time to fix the website, and to get the back end processes straightened out so that self-funding of cards is again possible upon receipt of the physical card in the post.

Thank you all, and again I am very sorry things are not going quite as planned, but rest assured, within the coming month things will be back, and will be running much smoother & quicker.

I will be reaching out to a few of you with Tracking info tonight, and the rest a few more at a time each day until all are sent out by Monday... Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we move to make coldkey a well-oiled machine, and again, thank you for your support!

I'm unaware of any open orders by you personally, so I will pm you after this post.

Yes, it will start back at Q2 2021. We will publish a roadmap.

Hello! Our apologies yet again - We had some quality control issues that were missed before the hologram/laminate process, causing us to have to reject much of the entire first run, and reprint all affected cards.

Contributing to the issues - There were also other problems that occurred during the laminate process that caused other minor imperfections, also contributing to having destroy/reject more cards and remake them....

Because making the Coldkeys is a 3 part process, every step is dependent upon the prior for 100% quality in the end.

As just on example, you can see in this image, there is minor bleed on the black font that we found unacceptable for shipment on some of the cards:



As of right now, we had 3 packages get lost/never scanned by the French Post so they are being remade this week. We also had 4 other packages go out and should be delivered soon. We hope to have the rest of the packages done and mailed by Friday, but worst case will be early next week.

Lastly, none of the auctioned cards had any of these issues as they were made separately.

Apologies again, but this will all be solved soon, trust me.

Hello everybody,

This is a little update to share some news regarding Coldkey with you all.

The first batch of the Commemorative Bitbills Coldkeys is finally (almost) all shipped out.
We need to redo the ones that were lost in the mail.

Also, we have had some technical issues with our card laminator and we are looking to acquire a new one tomorrow and get it delivered ASAP.

Once we have finished delivering this run, our focus will shift on finding the best way to provide a better service to you, and fulfill all any custom cards or past orders that were missed or lost.

Since a couple of weeks I've been thinking about how things were taking place before my long year break.
I let myself get too overwhelmed on many aspects of the project, so everything must happen differently.

This means we will look to get all the processes streamlined, but at the cost of all the special requests that were granted.

My ambition is to bring Coldkey out there to a more widespread audience, and I am conscious this would have never been possible without making these adjustments.

I want to greatly apologize to everyone I have left hanging but I have not forgotten you and you will be taken care of accordingly.

It is greatly appreciate and we do not plan on letting anyone down, despite how long it might take.

Hello everybody

It's time for a little update about Coldkey.

After the reboot and the messy sale of 1st batch of the Bitbills 10th anniversary commemorative Coldkey, I'm bringing some news to you all.

We have finally completed the shipments of the 20 sets that sold.
Most have been already successfully received.

Unfortunately, 3 sets (shipped together at the same time) went missing so we had to redo them.
These are the serial numbers 12, 14 and 23.
They now exist with a "*" (a star) after the serial number to point out they have been replaced.
(Similarly to what the US does with it's notes : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replacement_banknote )

During this time, I was in touch with owlcatz on a daily basis.
Sharing some details with him about the different steps involved in the Coldkey production was very positive.
Thanks to his input, we have drastically improved some steps of the operation.

A few changes will be visible soon and will definitely improve your Coldkey experience while making some production steps easier to us at the same time.


The 2nd sale of the Bitbills 10th anniversary commemorative Coldkeys will happen in the next days.
There will be 10 sets up for sale, as well as an auction.

Sales will happen on our website shop and will ship within the next working day after your order has been placed.
The auction will happen on Bitcointalk as usual. (with a twist )

We'll update the ANN thread about the next sales when it's available.

Another 3rd and last sales will happen at a later date.


We're almost caught up on all things pending and aspects we were running late.
There still is a handful of custom requests / orders to take care of.

I expect to be 100% caught up by the end of the month, so I can keep on working on Coldkey with a free mind.
Finally I'll be able to spend more time creating new concepts and innovating. This is what I love to do with these techs.

Hello everyone,

Time for an update about Coldkey.

These last few months were a bit chaotic, but I am very happy to say we got the situation back under control.
It took us some time to fulfill all our obligations as we were reaching closer and closer to get back to normal operation.

It feels a little like a new beginning, as many things have changed from the day Coldkey began.

A few examples :

Order processing :
Before : When an order was placed, the Coldkeys were produced.
Now : The whole batch is produced beforehand and kept in stock while sales are ongoing.

Production :
Before : Coldkeys were manufactured one by one, every step was launched manually.
Now : Coldkeys are still produced manually, but the overall production chain has been greatly improved.

Funding :
At first : Coldkeys shipped funded in mail.
Then : When a buyer confirmed the proper receipt of their parcel with our 2FA procedure, I was funding Coldkeys manually.
Now : When a buyer confirms the receipt of the parcel, there is a 2FA procedure with a BTC transaction. This funds the Coldkeys instantly while still providing a high level of security during transit.

I want to briefly address the hiccups related to the latest sales of the Q3 2020 History Coldkey full sets.

Coldkey has been in somewhat of a difficult spot since the reboot.
Hardware failure and replacement issues aside, we still had some pending situations (now taken care of) and I made a wrong decision at one point, which I reconsidered and dismissed.
This decision impacted our ability to timely deliver and finalize the orders that have been placed at that time.
It was disastrous as our customers who bought this listing faced some frustrating wait.

We are still experimenting some disruption at this level for now, but we've also never been so close to be fully caught up since I had to take a long break in 2021.

This is where we need to draw the line.
We chose not to sell gift cards or find other ways to get things resolved. We ate it all up.

Starting from today, there will be no more disruption.
Coldkeys without funding are processed timely.
Coldkeys with funding are processed timely.
Our new procedure makes it possible for you to trigger the funding of your Coldkeys once you received them, without any further action needed from our side.
A few customers have already experienced this funding method and everyone went through without issues !


As small roadmap of what's up with Coldkey for the rest of 2022 :

Q3 2022 :
- Website + Coldkey Authenticity tool (Authkey) restored.
- Coldkey Discord server.
- Q2 2021 History Coldkey release.
- 1 new concept // surprise release.

Q4 2022 :
- Coldkey Tracker website.
- Q3 2021 History Coldkey release (Early Q4)
- Q4 2021 History Coldkey release. (Late Q4)
- New collection of Funded Coldkeys. (Such as the 2019 0.001, 0.005 and 0.01 ones)
