If opting for altcoins, let a bit of your portfolio be altcoins and earn 70% or more on bitcoins. Avoid new projects, it's a scam, look for better ones with high market cap on coinmarketcap.

Many new projects are coming for the newbies I would say that if the newbies want to invest then invest carefully and invest wisely because now many projects are scams because currently the price of BTC has dropped a lot because of that the project is not going well so many jobs have increased.  Everyone should invest knowingly before investing, check the project manager and the ico of the project carefully, how many people are participating, how it is being taught, think about everything and then invest. I do agree with it, Bitcoin and Ethereum are highly recommendable for any investors who would want to start their journey in crypto world. But aside from those two given coins, Binance and Solana, and other leading altcoins are also decent and has been one of the most sought coins this year alone especially BNB as in the last couple of days, BNB still managed to rally, almost to the price of its recent ETH even if the market is not doing good. Many people are choosing it over ETH, but why would you have to choose if you can always acquire both said coins. I hope the OP retained his 2BNB though rather than selling it to acquire another one.

Every investment has opportunities and risks. I think that most part of the portfolio should consist of bitcoin, in my portfolio so far only bitcoin and I do not plan to add other coins to it yet. Nothing to say about that, it's important to do your DYOR before stepping yourself inside the market, choosing solid project will defend from how you really believe from what the developers are doing, mentioning Binance, the project already established their name to become the top crypto exchange, and aside from that BSC also gaining good support from other developers, giving BNB a good chance to keep gaining increase.

2 BNB is a nice amount to start with.
To me I won't advice you to invest in any altcoin due to the market current condition. And I'm sure that so many project will go down with this current bear market.
Even Bitcoin is still struggling to stay at $17k.
If you want a long term investment that will surely profit you then you probably should start buying Bitcoin.
You could also purchase some Ethereum too but note that this won't be a short term investment.

It is good idea to divide your capital in several portion and invest on different potential crypto like Matic, Dot, Solana etc. 2 BNB is not huge amount and it is not wiser decision to invest all the amount in one project. Do ypu have any bitcoin yet?  Every portfolio should start amd end with bitcoin.  If ypu already have a bitcoin dominant portfolio then I will say that matic/polygon is my next bullrun coin I'm watching.  I'm not much into tokens but polygon has done some impressive things in a short amount of time.

I think this is true regardless of anything being in one coin is probably a lot better because at least they won't be too much of a headache.
Bitcoin is a pretty good place if the intention is for long term investment rather than being in altcoins even though there are some good altocin like BNB or ETH but I think everyone will agree that being in bitcoin would be much better.
But with a note, because sometimes it's always difficult for beginners to make up their minds, being in bitcoin with minimal capital obviously requires patience, so this requires a longer period of time and they must realize that it's not as easy here as expected.
