They can't clone GPG signatures. If you spend the few seconds it takes to actually verify your downloads (as everyone should be doing), then you will literally never fall victim to such a scam.

Exactly but most of the new people like OP here would have fallen for such scams because we are using these apps and devices (not talking specifically about crypto or wallets) for so long and we never faced anything like getting a pop-up option in the app where the app is asking us to update it and when we click on that link we are now on the unofficial page to download the scammer's app and when we enter our loggings then we see all of our funds are gone.

But as the old history of our, we do not tend to think that this might be a scam because news scams stun people like these. I heard one case here before where OP lost his funds in Electrum due to such an old version of Electrum he failed to update the app with time and when he returned after a long period of time he then tried to update the Electrum from that fake link and fall prey to a scam which lost him a lot of money.

And of course if he spend some time on official page of download then he would have his money right now in his hands but due to less knowledge and out of date data or knowledge most of the people will definitely fell for such shit scams.

Which is exactly my point. Scammers can make fake software, fake apps, fake websites, fake download pages, but they cannot make fake GPG signatures. Once you know how to do it, it takes less than 20 seconds to verify a download against a public key in your keystore. Do this simple thing with every new version you download and you will never fall victim to such scams.

Being on the official website, although smart, is insufficient to guarantee your safety. Scammers could either have hacked the official website, or hacked the download server that it points to. Once again, if you verify the signature of what you download, then you will be protected from such scams.

Although in very rare cases users may lose their funds due to the vulnerabilities which also happened to Electrum as well Critical Electrum vulnerability. So keeping our wallet updated is also as important to avoid any vulnerability attack.
