Russia is the world's third-largest oil producer, behind the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, and the world's largest exporter of crude to global markets. It is also a major producer and exporter of natural gas. So, it is impossible if EU prospect a Russian gas ban.

If EU not able to import gas from Russia, then the country stops, the economy stops, cannot heat the houses, cannot run the economy.

When they impose sanctions, then they have to make sure that those sanctions are hurting more those against whom they impose the sanctions than themselves.

So what the EU is planning is to accumulate as much Russian gas, oil and coal as they can in the next few months, before they could claim that they have stopped purchasing these products.

But from what I gathered from the news they haven't been capable of storing anything since what they import is still far less than their total consumption. I'd say before winter and in fall, EU is going to be in a lot of trouble.

I don't know whether Russia will become successful in conquering eastern Ukraine. But one thing is sure. By the time the war ends, German economy will be in ruins. The sanctions did what WW2 failed to do. There is no hope for German industries. They are done and dusted, and the Americans and the Chinese are quick to fill the vacuum. Everyone is talking about how the Russians are going to suffer as a result of the sanctions. No one talks about the impending layoffs and recession in Germany. Just wait for a couple more months, and by then everything will be clear.

So far they have avoided backlash from the public. Inflation is at all time high, but a large part of the population do want to side with Ukraine. Things may get changed, once the rationing of gas is implemented and factories start to close down due to lack of piped gas. At this point, the popularity of Olaf Scholz and that of the warmonger Green Party remains intact. The big test will come after 2 weeks. Nord Stream will close down for maintenance on July 13th. And I don't think that the Russians will turn on the pipeline once the maintenance is completed on 23rd as scheduled.

The most memorable negative experience! Now Germany, I hope, will never build relations with international terrorists, and the people of Germany will better control such Kremlin whores as Schroeder and his ilk. Yes, some will be left without a job, some without a business, some without one or the other. But finally they will understand that connections with criminals make them assistants to criminals. This is the price of betraying the interests of the country and moral standards, a good lesson! But nothing - in 1-3 years they will arrange gas supplies from adequate countries, all the plants that have stopped will be launched, but they will already think before once again contacting international terrorists! Most of the population will be on the side that is beneficial to the state. This will be supported at all levels through all possible means, including the media.The government needs to stay in place and it will make every effort to do so. What do we see today? One child is killed and the whole world is crying because of it, and another child is killed and no one pays attention to it. These are political methods of pressure on people and they are necessary for governments to promote their idea and save yourself and your family. I don't think anyone will think about starving people in Africa if their own child is hungry.

There is some interesting news coming in from India. Russia has become the top crude oil supplier to India for the month of June. This is happening for the first time in history, as India has always depended on oil from middle east. Russia has displaced Iraq from the no.1 spot, after 1.2 million barrels of Russian crude was imported into India last month. Not sure about gas, but from what I have heard, purchases of Russian gas by Turkey and China are at all time high levels. So in this case, it is becoming easier to replace the buyer than the supplier.
