Currently, digital currencies cannot overthrow traditional currencies for several reasons, but they can provide support in various areas related to payments because they are instant and with low fees.
With the development of the world, perhaps there will be a great opportunity for digital currencies that can replace fiat currencies .

And why should they beat fiat currencies? In general, I often see various arguments about how cryptocurrencies should replace fiat money. Personally, I am of the opinion that cryptocurrencies do not need to try to replace fiat; central banks are unlikely to ever allow this. They are already creating solutions for this in the form of CBDC tokens, a centralized currency whose issuance will be controlled by the central banks themselves.

Cryptocurrencies may well live and develop in parallel with fiat. For example, investment assets like real estate, gold or bonds have no goal to replace fiat, they exist together with fiat and do not pretend to be money.

Since cryptocurrencies are still used more as an investment asset than as a currency to pay for goods and services, they do not need to replace fiat currencies as an investment digital asset.

Crypto will never defeat fiat currency because its government owned and there’s is no need for this because crypto is not meant for this. We should be more competent and eager to provide quality platform and services instead, crypto becomes an investment nowadays and its really good to focus on this. Cryptocurrency will be a great alternative for fiat and its way better to be like this. Just have a good wallet on your token and you will see a big change for that in the future.

A few years back, that's my thinking about cryptocurrencies that they'll entirely going to replace the monetary system. But right now, it seems that it won't and both of them are going to co-exist.
The one that will survive first and no obvious is bitcoin and then ethereum. It's hard to tell the other cryptocurrencies are going to be the same as these two heavy top crypto.

Its still ok to use fiat money, since I don’t spend my crypto that much and consider this as one of my best investment beside crypto is still not a legal tender.

^ And that is the fact and that is why don't think that a decentralized cryptocurrency will become replace the fiat because that is possible to happen.
Just accept the fact that fiat will remain fiat and the crypto will remain an electronic payment system, probably it is good if we accept that cryptocurrencies are a good alternative coin to fiat. Speaking of choosing a token and investing it, I am not sure about this, it is better to stick on BTC than the token which is considering you gamble your money on a token.

Even if the best case scenario happened and bitcoin was able to defeat fiat currencies that does not mean that the defeat of fiat currencies will be definitive, and what better example of this than what happened at Zimbabwe, the hyperinflation that happened there was legendary and even after their fiat disappeared for a time then the government of Zimbabwe tried once again to force people to use a new currency they began to print, so beating fiat is unnecessary because as long as we can use bitcoin as an alternative that is enough.

If you have no interest in top crypto projects my advice is to focus on making profits out of new projects only, erase the idea of holding for years because ma y altcoins won't be around in next two to three years later, its also unpredictable which token or coin will for long, do some research and invest money that you are ready to lose.

You're right, so far both of them coexist very well but fiat is mandatory for us because it can be used in all countries we also need it to live and trade. Crypto is an asset for business, team communities and even companies are currently getting into this business. Surviving altcoins for those who are truly capable of innovating.

I'm not thinking about crypto currency will replace fiat maybe today but I don't know about the future maybe there will be a different payment system that doesn't involve fiat. So why bother to ask that when all the government been doing is to consider fiat and crypto to coexist since if they want to get rid of crypto they can't do anything especially to the Bitcoin which isn't someone's property. Therefore, if people use Bitcoin they won't be able to control the outcome of the money which is essential for the growth of a country.

Only coins that are solving real issues cheaper, faster and more reliable then you could do by centralized databases. Not every problem can be solved with cryptos however, but people will try to sell us that idea because they want to make money while the iron is hot.

Cryptocurrencies aren't fighting with fiat currencies. In fact mostly people want to change their cryptos to fiat currences at some point. And most people are using cryptos to get more fiat currencies. There might be few people who want more bitcoin with that but that's a small minority.

I didn't see any correlation between your title with the thread that you have written above. If crypto didn't compete with fiat currencies even both are exists and why do we need to think which one that can survive or to be chosen while people have their own choice for what kind of token that will survive? It doesn't make sense to hear that. Whole of crypto will always still survive even those major coins will always highly valued with big capitalization.
It's caused by that's different with the fiat if in crypto is pretty similar to the stock rather than being a competitor for fiat.
