Have a nano ledger s and i know i can install litecoin app into it to send/receive.  Reason why i don't want to do this is because i stored several apps already on my nano ledger s already so i don't want to use any more space on it even though i still have space left for litecoin. But the important thing is, i will only have a small amount of litecoin stored in the wallet... think like to 20-50 dollars worth only.  Will request somewhere between 20-50 dollars worth of LTC only from a site.  Then i would make a small LTC transfer to someone.

So because of that, what litecoin wallet would you recommend?  A while back, i had stored litecoin in Electrum LTC but that program isn't on my windows pc anymore so i need to reinstall it.  This would also mean needing to verify the software which i do not want to do.  Also considered using my waves exchange wallet since you could store litecoin there but then i see the fee to send LTC is 0.01 LTC as the fee and that can't be changed?  Remember the fees were much less on Electrum LTC.  Does anyone know what are the current fees to send LTC with nano ledger s or Electrum LTC now?

Any litecoin wallet you can recommend for this?  Have windows pc and an iphone.  Also i want to be able to control the sending fees because i heard litecoin fees are very cheap and fast and believe fees are only around
3 cents a transfer?  But using waves exchange wallet to send would cost a dollar?  is this accurate?

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

You can use this site to check the average fees for the litecoin and it's around 1,4 cents right now. that's so cheap as a transaction or payment system.

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/litecoin-transactionfees.html#3y
But using waves exchange wallet to send would cost a dollar?  is this accurate?
The exchange sites withdrawal fees was so high and it's not a recommended thing to use the waves exchange to store your litecoin. The wallet like trezor is good enough to be used to store your litecoin.
You can try to use it as a way to store your litecoin.

Electrum LTC is open source. Why would you not want to use it?

There are so many other wallets that support Litecoin, but most are multicurrency wallets and are closed source
  • Jaxx liberty
  • Exodus
  • Trustwallet
  • Atomic wallet
  • Coinomi

LTC transaction fee rate is mostly at 1 sat/byte

Electrum LTC is worth it, change your OS if you really want to use it, it has a wide variety of desktop formats, including Windows, Linux, and MacOS which I think is a very common OS that we used.

Any litecoin wallet you can recommend for this?
Try to look at this article that might help you, it includes the pros and cons there.

IMO, LTC has the lowest fee to transfer compared to Bitcoin.

Because is not many people discussing litecoin wallet, I'm also not sure what the best wallet, is better to direct to https://litecoin.org where you can choose what the best for you. As many people said, the harder you have to download that will be safer. It's just a minute to verify and it will save your life also.

Does anyone know what are the current fees to send LTC with nano ledger s or Electrum LTC now?
I believe it will be the same as electrum bitcoin, you can select the minimum fee that you want, I believe 1 sat litecoin could be able on electrum litecoin. but, like bitcoin, the higher you send the fast you get.

Since you already tried Electrum and feel like its not worth it then go for multi cryptocurrency wallet like Trust wallet so you can use it to store LTC and other multiple cryptocurrencies for short term or very low amount. But in my opinion Electrum LTC is superior and have all the features along with completely open-source unlike other wallet which I mentioned earlier.

Why don't you want to store your litecoins on cryptocurrency exchanges? Now it is not clear where it is better to store cryptocurrency, some exchanges provide better protection than many wallets. I can also leave a link to a review of the litecoin core wallet that I used several times.

If it's for bigger amounts, not ideal to store in any exchange.

You have no plans of trading them then don't store it on exchanges. But with OPs criteria, he's just going to store a few bucks of Litecoin and that amount isn't that much.

Well, still, I wouldn't say that store it on exchanges but if that's the amount and eventually you're going to trade that, your call.

Since you don't want Electrum, and the Litecoin Core will be much more work to install. You can try some multicurrency wallet like Trustwallet. Or since only planned to store small amount of litecoin you can try their official mobile wallet, Litewallet available for both android and iOS I believe.

It is not safe. On cryptocurrency exchanges, you do not have private keys. Without private keys, you will not be able to fully control your funds.

So should just install litecoin app on my nano ledger then?  Again, i do have space to add a few more apps but because i only plan to keep tiny amount on litecoin on it, i sort of rather just use another wallet.  Again, i would be withdrawing probably 50 dollars max from a site and then doing a few small transfers of under 5 dollars.

That is the simplest way if you don't want to bother with verifying Electrum LTC. After all, if you are done with LTC, then just simply delete the app to save up some space.

Any privacy issue with my nano ledger s though that way sending btc?

Going to get tiny amount of LTC... think between 25 and 50 dollars from a site.  They do not charge any fees at all.  Reason is because they are a gambling site and they charge no fees at all.  Don't believe they allow a 5 dollar withdraw and minimum is at least 25 or 50 dollars.

After i receive the LTC, i will do a 5 dollar LTC transfer to someone because i want to order something.  Then probably make few more 5 dollar LTC purchases later on.  So based on that, i want to know what is the best way for me to save on transaction costs.  Or should i just use btc to order something and pay the sending fees that way?  The reason why i want to use LTC is because if i use btc to pay that person or site, couldn't they see my transaction history of my btc from my nano ledger s?  Thus i want to stay more anonymous... so i figure since if i pay them with LTC, well that wallet would have at most 50 dollars and if they want to check my wallet history later on, well it won't have much there.  Does that make sense?  So since i use a nano ledger s for btc, wouldn't there be some privacy issues because if i send say 5 dollars worth of btc... they could see... hey my previous receiving transaction was say me receiving around 2000 usd worth of btc?

Now i do use a new receiving address each time i receive btc... so would privacy and transaction history be visible to the person i would send btc to?  Now if this is a new btc wallet on say electrum for example... and say i receive 50 dollars worth of btc... then send 5 dollars to the other person, well i don't care much because they could see i only had one transaction and its 50 dollars only.  Thus i want to show the wallet i send btc or ltc from is like from an everyday spending wallet... as oppose to holding wallet.  So thoughts on this?

So i want to not only save money on sending costs... but i want privacy.  i want to either send btc or ltc from an address where if you check the history, you don't see more than say 50 dollars total going through that address.  But ltc seem to be always cheap as a penny.

What should i do here?  Don't mind even a mobile wallet on my iphone for this as i want the wallet that im sending from to be like a spending wallet.

Why not control multiple-address and using for various purposes.

Like, an address for shopping only and you fill that address with funds. How to send a fund without another address who have a fund in a single wallet is getting effected for the transaction? is by using "coin-control" feature.

You're controlling to which address only being used for transaction. So, if someone track you they only can find your shopping address not the address you are own with main-source money.

Don't know how to control multiple address and use for various purposes.

Again, what i want to do is receive maybe 50 dollars worth of btc or ltc in a complete separate wallet...where i would use it to buy few things online.  Thus i want it completely separate from my nano ledger.  Only have btc and bch on nano ledger so don't want to receive 50 dollar worth of btc from a website... then send 5 dollar worth of btc to someone and then if they check the transaction history, it could link to old addresses which contains btc.

But since i have no ltc installed on my nano ledger... do that instead?  However... could that person i send 5 dollar worth of ltc to... see how much ltc i have in the future if i buy more ltc?  So because of that, i want like an ltc wallet on my windows pc or ios phone.  So electrum ltc or trustwallet?  Had ltc electrum installed a while back but no more and that would require me to verify it and all that.  Again, this ltc or btc wallet would not contain more than 50 dollars at most.  its a spending wallet for buying things online.

The simplest way for us to do, if you do not want to bother and have problems in the future, just delete after you are finished with LTC, because the most important thing for security is verification, this is nothing to guarantee your own safety, the problem that often arises because of the command For verification it is not done correctly, so if something happens we cannot finish, so don't think this is not important to do

You can use trust wallet or atomic wallet but that Electrum wallet is the safest option on mobile phone, I don't even know that LTC has an Electrum wallet but its all good, there is also the official LTC wallet but that requires syncing with huge amount of data.

I use a trust wallet, because there are lots of coins that support it, for litecoin services are also available, and it's very easy to receive or send litecoins to exchanges for sale, even though there are many other wallets scattered out there, but trust wallets can be used as the right wallet . for security I have no doubt about trust wallet.

can you use coin control on ledger live with litecoin?

example, you want to withdraw only 20-50 dollars from a gambling site and make small payments to someone monthly.  So even when they see the litecoin address you are sending from, they only see that small balance.

But you also want in the future to withdraw bigger amounts of litecoin and store it but make sure whenever you make your monthly payments to someone... they can't see the bigger stack litecoin address which you have for holding?

does ledger live generate a new ltc address each time you want to withdraw btc and it generate new address like btc or not?

or should i just use electrum ltc or trust wallet for this?

can you use coin control on ledger live with litecoin?
Litecoin is a fork of Bitcoin, so according to their documentation page, yes, you can! Refer to this article: Using Coin control. The complete explanation and how-to guide are over there. So you should be able to follow thoroughly.

does ledger live generate a new ltc address each time you want to withdraw btc and it generate new address like btc or not?
Yes, any leftover amount of coin you have sent, will go into a change address(https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033802154-Change-addresses?support=true).

should i just use electrum ltc or trust wallet for this?
Electrum LTC does also support coin control. But you should stick with Ledger Live.

But you also want in the future to withdraw bigger amounts of litecoin and store it but make sure whenever you make your monthly payments to someone... they can't see the bigger stack litecoin address which you have for holding?

Transactions on the Bitcoin and Litecoin blockchains are easy to trace.
For privacy, so that your partners do not see your main wallet, you can use MimbleWimble or 2 different wallets.

Exchange your litecoin for any cryptocurrency with low fees, and then exchange this cryptocurrency for another litecoin address and make payments.

wait so you can use coin control on ledger live with ltc?  So say i receive 50 dollars worth of ltc to nano ledger.  Make few 5 dollar payments and my ltc balance is now around 25 dollars.  The person who i been sending 5 dollars multiple times can always see that balance right since they see i use the same sending address?  Now when request ltc from another site but want 5000 dollars worth of it to store and hold, does ledger live generate me a new ltc receiving address similar to how it does with btc?
