Argentina is about to launch bitcoin education in their curriculum,  this is going to take place in 40 High schools with about 4,000 students.  This is  an Interesting news many  bitcoiners have been waiting for,  I think this won't just end in Argentina,  other countries will take this same good  within a short time.

Argentina  is the second highest  bitcoin  adopter in Latin America,  I the reason for the innovation is to make students  know  the importance of bitcoin. The economy of Argentina is suffering in the hands of hyperinflation.

I think this is great, and not for the reasons people might think. I don't care about investment education that much, or rather, I don't think that should be the main focus of education on BTC and crypto. I do think monetary education, in general, is important, and investing comes along in that basket, but what is more important is what crypto can teach us on a technological and sociological level. We need to educate the new generations on it in order to have a better understanding and a better future for crypto be it BTC or something else and to avoid the pitfalls of monetary knowledge of the old.

This is actually a great development, and a right major taking by the country to give proper and accurate knowledge about Bitcoin to their students in high school. I am sure very soon other countries will go in to that path so as to provide proper education to their citizens too.

To be honest I'd rather prefer if schools had a subject of investing and finance by default, rather than Bitcoin specifically. Explain to the students how to save money and what investment instruments are available, then just let them decide themselves what they should invest in and what the allocations are.

Yeah, I always said that economics and finances should be mandatory from an earlier age in schools. Teaching people about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies committing personal finances and the risks of investing will only do half of the job. Of course, we; 're in the dark here and we don't know what they are teaching them exactly about BTC and what aspect will be favored in this but I do wish it will focus on the things bitcoin fixes and the importance in personal security and it will leave anything related to price out of it.

I wouldn't want a talk about investment either but I would definitely suggest one about the risks of it when it comes to cryptocurrencies as a whole and the differences between them. There are too many that think every bitcoin clone out there will have the same success just because of a few loose common characteristics with it and get trapped or bankrupt in rug pull schemes.

It would be good if vocabulary such as inflation, investing, money, how to save money, currency pegs, why currencies depreciate, how to hedge against inflation, financial education, financial independence and other policies in the economy are taught to students at an early age and Bitcoin is taken as a model for a decentralized project Open source.


Overall, I hope the step will be more educational than how to send bitcoins.

Yes it is good if schools teach students investing and finance and also teach them on how save . If schools also decide to give students bitcoin education it is also a good idea for them to know bitcoin but it shouldn't be a must every students must invest, only students who have interest for bitcoin.

I think they will learn about material about bitcoin but not advice on investment because it depends on personal decisions, but the focus of the curriculum on cryptocurrencies includes a general perspective on investing so that they are knowledgeable before investing in risky market patterns.

I think this bitcoin and blockchain technology is just a part of their financial or maybe technology subjects. It's just high school. By introducing blockchain technology to these high school students, some of them might be interested and will proceed further when they enter college. Argentina just wanted not to get behind especially with their already struggling economy. It's just like the old Japanese kingdom sending some of its scholars to Europe and the United States to study and learn their technology, financial system, war machineries, etc. This is a good start for Argentina. And I hope my country will do the same.

Teaching student of under age investment of bitcoin will cause stealing of parents funds. But if the school teaches the building and development and the techniques of bitcoin for future time. It will give support for the up coming crypto generation. And some countries have not start the journey of bitcoin yet. If Argentina bitcoin news is not widespread out, teaching youths the uses of bitcoin is a smart move for the pupils, including adults

I've done a bit of digging but come out a bit empty-handed, it's Spanish and I'm not really good at it, plus google makes a mess of translating, better without it.

I think the students will be taught based on what is in their curriculum and not just investment and finance. First I believe the schools will impact basic knowledge of bitcoin to their students thereby teaching them the imperative things as beginners. Furthermore, it is their learning ability and interest ratio that will determine if they will venture into teaching them about investment and finance.

But my first question is that is Bitcoin legalised in Argentina?
As if it’s not legal, then i fear that Government will interfere in the later period of time.
Also at first Bitcoins should be made legal in that specific countries before introducing it in the curriculum.
Also I have another doubt that, what exactly they are teaching the students? Is it only about Bitcoins or also about the Blockchain.

Instead of jumping into any conclusion, let's wait till you see it in reality. Many times the government uses such tools to spread negativity about something they don't like. For example, in India, the government is slowly erasing the actual history of freedom fighters and pushing their own organization as a savior of India under British rule. Make sure such kind of things are not happening there as well.

If bitcoin is introduced under a positive note, then it should be fine!

A huge development for Argentina where schools are starting to adopt Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in their curriculum. How I wish that the Philippines would also be like that in the future. I'm rather curious how the curriculum would go though. History for crypto is only a decade long so far, and I don't think it's going to take up much with what Bitcoin is and the basic explanation of what blockchain is. I don't think the discussion would move towards investments/trading type of stuff, that is if it went into the specifics. It might just be better to just include Bitcoin (or crypto) as a small of a general course about investments like what mk4 said so that people actually know what investments are and what they can bring to your average investor.

Well, thats good news, meaning that the Argentinians are already seen the potential of Bitcoin thats why they introduced it to their students. Anyway, I believe that this piece of good news will not end only in Argentina because even in my country there's also a buzz to introduce it in our schools its called the cryptocurrency 101, and hopefully, it will be realized soon because my country is crypto friendly and very open to this industry.

Yea we definitely lack info, but I sure damn hope they make very clear the risks of buying cryptocurrencies. The last thing they'd want is their students gambling with random cryptocurrencies. This is one of those things that if done wrong, could do far more damage than good.
