It is simply the emotional attachment to your investment, because why you wouldn't be anyway. No one likes to be broke. Everyone needs money and if you risk that kind of need to something trash, it would obviously take a toll in you emotionally.
There are no such thing as not being emotional. Maybe people are calling it to be not emotionally  tied to something, but emotion is still there. I've been emotional to my investments back in 2017, but I got used to those emotions that it made me decide better.

You buy as much as you can when we’re in a bear market & you sell some when we’re in a bull market. It’s really not that difficult, only impatient people lose.

but this is only for people who has spare funds and with no urgent needs for their investment. i do agree that people are impatient, but what can you do if they badly need their funds? so before you buy in this market, know your targets and capability. if you can't hold long, expect that you may sell it at a loss if you need your funds.
depression can be experienced if the person is not ready to accept loss or he is expecting different from what he is seeing with his funds.

this is what is called life in crypto space 
Not only you, but many people also feel the same. But what makes us different is how we can control damage our emotions which will also influence how we manage our money in investing in crypto projects. When you are frustrated enough from crypto, just be patient, calm down, and wait for little bit of time again. refresh your brain and wait for long term investment work, moreover if you invest in Bitcoin or top coins, at elast you still have higher chance in the next bullish market

thats right, the key is patience and also hold yourselves from being too attached with the investment, so many newbie traders always look at the chart like every minutes and that alone already bring such pressure for our emotions.
it's always better to focus in something else like being productive instead of being too fixated in looking at the chart every minutes.

I got depressed twice because of the crypto market.
My first depression was on March 13, 2020. Looking at it now, it was a great buying opportunity.

My second depression was with the luna crash. The altcoins I own have lost a lot of value. I lost 2/3 of my money.

A market is bunch of projects with buying and selling prices. It is way less significant than your mental health, so take care of yourself and dont get too involved in making money. Taking a break helps but if you want to trade with profit, you have to rethink how to trade and also how to use the movements for advantages to buy/sell. Otherwise, like most short stint traders, you would have to stop trading.

It is good that you understood this. Make it a point to observe everytime the market falls for buying chances.

Since I was there when bitconnect happened, I saw a lot many people lose money through it. Though I was aware myself about it being a hype, I tried to tell others but it was in vain. Same scam but in a different form happened with this one.

I hope the cycle continues and the market rises again.

If you are not mentally prepared, then you should not be trading at all. Maybe you should take a break for now in crypto there, bud.  I've been there back in 2017, and it just kept hurting me mentally day by day until I just took a month away from crypto and decided that I should just find some other things to distract me, because in the end, the loss I had is still a loss in the end and there ain't anything I could do about it.
Led me to somehow a numb mindset, but good thing I was able to think slowly and rationally after the break.
Depression along with stress commonly lead someone to decide with haste and no rationality.

Because you always tend to think that crypto is more on easy gains than hard losses. And that's not how crypto works.
