Caution for the Forum Users' accounts

I have seen and read different users complained about their accounts were trying to be hacked. Lauda's part of the story was wrong so it has been removed but the rest is valid.
The Pharmacist, he said someone was trying to hacked his email which is linked to this forum, he was also complaining what Lauda said in her last thread that if users in the forum see a strange posts which he has not done before we should know that the account has been impersonated, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405457.0 and other people also give warning. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405459.0
Please everyone should be careful on the new development on the forum because good name is better than silver and gold, don't allow unscrupulous users to spoil your name. If notice any unexpected email or post, quickly inform the necessary authorities and the forum users to steer clear.

So I became confused if it is an impersonation or a show up of coming back of the original Lauda?

Is this post intending to cause panic or what? I clicked the same link you provided and discovered that Lauda last appearance in this forum was 19th October, 2020. Please get your information right before you publish a post, especially in some sensitive matters as this.

You are confusing "Last active" with "Local time". Satoshi's profile shows the same local time.

Basic security precautions which you should already be doing will protect you against these kind of low levels attacks or phishing. Use a good password manager such as KeePassXC, use randomly generated, strong, complex passwords, never reuse a password, use different emails for different purposes, don't click on random links which could lead to phishing sites, don't use insecure recovery methods such as security questions or SMS.

I am wondering where you actually looked to find out that Lauda logged in today. the above screenshot is Lauda's account summary, the day he or she made her goodbye post is the last day she logged in, maybe you mistakenly looked at the wrong profile thinking you were looking at Lauda's profile, next time, verify and verify again before making a claim like this.

And also, i think this post belongs to the Meta section and not beginners and help.

as far as I know, the account was only locked but not banned just like what they did to satoshi's account. I checked Lauda's profile and BPIP and I don't see a "banned" status.

Forum account: security, privacy and recovery

Their accounts were hacked becasue they set up weak password or they reuse same password with same email on different platforms. If they don't lose account password, they lose password of their email and hacker can reset password via email and they even can change email of forum account too.

It isn't a new development lol this is a hack attempt, the Pharmacist was quick to notice the email notifications I strongly doubt  the person has access of his email cause he could have reset the password immediately instead of trying multiple times. They must have thought they was some way they could bypass it

Honestly, worse happened to that account. It wasn't merely banned but it got destroyed, technically. No one can log in from that account according to theymos' assurance which has also been captured in his quote above by other users. I followed that infamous Lauda exit thread while it was fresh.

Yes, security is key (no pun intended) but sometimes these things happen and it gets breached. Just imagine if the intruder was able to assess The Pharmacist's email, the whole thing would've looked like TP was careless about the security of his email. I don't think most of those who are victims of hacks are even necessarily careless. It's just a chanced thing upon them.

While the OP is right, you have to be very careful with the emails you receive in PM. I would advise you to completely disable receiving emails from newbies.

You're right about Lauda. The user was a controversial persona. I'm not sure any forum drama escaped their attention. However, I don't agree with your angle of a user eliciting any perceived great quality of another should be seen as an attempt to fish for merit. For instance, I've come to associate you with good intention and your posts are pleasant to read too, should I be accused of merit fishing any time I admire your attributes too. Again, my intent study of mankind suffices that no individual can be so bad that no single person likes them. My point in the last sentence is this – even with the perceived bad nature of Lauda, there were users who still admired them and felt bad when that account was "self banned"

I don't know, but if there was a hacker and finds a security bug in the forum, he will not reveal himself by sending this message to active accounts, the matter is nothing more than trolling.
It's a good opportunity to make sure you're using a strong password and check the security of your account otherwise you don't have to worry.

That's accurate right there and so far, it has maintained an inactive period in about 2years. I suppose there isn't going to be a hack on this acvount as it's going to be of no use to the hacker, following the Lauda exit episode.

Are you sure it would have end with the merits, it could even come with a neutral trust for misinterpretation, lol. I was still in my beginner days when this user @Lauda opted to live the forum. It was a sad episode for sure to have such a reputable user that has integrated the forum in many ways opt to live based on her personal reasons.
She left behind a legacy worth protecting as you can see in the great deal of effort she did put in to ensure there is no returning to the account and DT's also made there mark to caution other forum users. It wa something memorable!

When it comes to unsolicited PM's you've got to be very skeptical with the advice and links it contains. Best advice, read and ignore so long as you didn't have no trouble with wth your account. You'll be good!

Abeg oh!!! But I like people that do a great job for the Development of a community. Like most heroes in the past even our communities, countries plus freedom fighters did a great things. Yeah, KingsDen's post there had me very confused for a second, because I don't recall Lauda's departure ending with a ban.  Either way, the person who is Lauda certainly can return to the forum, even if it means using a new account.  I'm sure Lauda could prove their identity sufficiently to satisfy the die hard forum skeptics.

That's got nothing to do with the topic at hand, however.  And as far as my own recent hack attempt, OP seems to think someone tried to hack my e-mail account.  They didn't as far as I know, only my bitcointalk account--I was only made aware of it because the forum sent an e-mail to me letting me know there were unsuccessful attempts to use the "forgot password" function.

It could be the reason Cyrus said in Bitcointalk YouTube show quiz section, that Lauda among Vod, Tman and others is the only person that cannot reappear in the forum.
