I was expecting to have a much better second season, and while that is mostly true, it seems that a lot of you are having even better, 75-point weeks on average that makes it hard to climb ranks (and fall in rank too).

Don't worry too much about it. I've picked Carvalho as my starter for the next 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure he won't start (though I still expect my defensemen to score more points than yours... Greaves, Davis, Ramsdale).

Well people in charge of Fantasy game are not so smart, we all see Haaland is making the game not so fun and when he have a not good game what they do? They give him 3 points from bonus!!!!. For doing what? IF youa re gonna give him a point of bonus it has to be 1 or as much 2, i have him now, but still ridiculous.

As expected I'm falling down the ranks and settling around where I should be expected to for the season haha. If I have to concede, I've been saved 2 GWs in a row now by Gabriel. Last one, because he was in my squad. This one, because Pedro didn't play and he got subbed in (phew). 7 points from a def is a great return IMO, never mind Arsenal conceded two. Had the 2-1 score stood, he probably might have had a bonus point or two (for winning goal).

I've set a reminder so I don't forget to change my team (already made 2 urgent transfers out). International break really squeezed my guys out of contention, is a WC ripe for me very soon or should I just stick to banking free transfers? Asking for me.

I've been saved 2 GWs in a row now by Gabriel.

Gabriel's figures for goals scored with head from corner kicks are frightening. Good defensive option to have, IMO, since there is always the threat of him scoring. Many people will wildcard to him with the easy fixtures we have.

It's really a tough news honestly, and an awful blow both to City and the midfielder who had a great season capped with an impressive summer, I guess no one said anything about Rodri because he's not the most appealing midfielder to own in the FPL.

I initially thought Rodri was faking it after he had fell to the ground, but it became rather worrying when he was leaving the pitch, I'm going to be following how Guardiola would handle the situation, If Stones would be back into the line up then I'll also consider him into my squad from a defender stand point, but I'll not be having Kovacic simply because he doesn't offer a lot offensively.

Stones? Don't think so. While Rodri was missing on season start Lewis was the one covering so I am thinking he gets the minutes boost which could be very nice as long as we are ok with some early subs and occasional benching.

With Gvardiol and Doku both dropping in price, decided to wildcard as well. My team will look a lot better now, and I already have 3 transfers stacked up so can make changes again.

Not really happy with my start so far, could have been worse though. It's still early days.

This is actually great start by my standards. I am usually around 4M at this stage, this is super good. Real game starts after first WC for me, everything I do good before that is a bonus.

Last season was anomaly and only one where I was top all the time. Season before that I was in bottom half of the pool all the way to New Year.

It's scary seeing you say that you are about to start playing, especially if you have not used your TC chip. The season is still very long way to go, and I see a lot of people gaining momentum already. For someone like me with little experience in the FPL, it will be a struggle to maintain my position or even do better.

Icopress already has a good lead; I don't doubt his ability to maintain that position; it is my intention to keep close.

Yeah! I don't even remember why I got him, except that I always try to have many Arsenal players from back and mid in my team. I'm actually now very happy in a way that Isak's not been performing. Lost some value on him, and am paying premium for Saka probably, but it's very pleasing to have both my favourites (Salah and Saka) in my team now, while still hanging on to Haaland. Wondering if icopress likes my squad.

Still bummed Salah lost the captaincy battle with Haaland, I've lost out so much just on choosing him over Mr Erling, who escaped a caution in the last game -- but let me not start up some FPL-referee-conspiracies

If your team was mine I would only need 1 free transfer (you have 3).

- I wouldn't sell Diogo J. if he won't be in the starting lineup against West Ham tomorrow.
- I would keep Eze for another week (even though I sold him because I was a bit short of buying Havertz).
- Your defense is fine (good matches for Pedro Porro, Gabriel, Konsa).
- Flekken is fine (I have him and I think he will be the first choice this weekend).
- Semenyo (great matches).
- I would swap Isak for Havertz

I am sure you have your plans  There is no way you are letting go of that first position without a fight.

I also don't have a single Arsenal player, but I'll not be rushing and probably buy my way into the squad gradually, only Saka, Gabriel and Raya are pretty much appealing from the team I already have 2 starting GKs perhaps If I had 2 free transfers I might have gone Verbruggen > Raya, and as well get Saka into the Midfield, however since I don't, then it's to make do of those I have.

Getting Saka is hard, but Haaland Salah Saka is actually doable with some heavy compromises elsewhere.

Will have a good think about Salah as well - he's collecting the points but in such an easy schedule I epected more. Then again, he's better when there's more space to exploit so the tougher games might actually suit him more.

Im not puting so much effort in this competition, but i also realized this, are super expensive, 6 millions for a defender cuts you of having some really midfilers.

When you build the team seems like is fine, but after a few looks, you start to realize is better to have some 4.5m defenders and taht 1.5m remaining can do a much better work in other parts of the field.

You can look at it in many ways. There will always be midfielders and attackers that will get you points but I am thinking Arsenal is probably hands down the team that will keep most clean sheets this season. Yeah they are expansive but well worth the price.

I will always advocate mixed approach, have all price points in every part of the field. Meaning at least one premium player in each part of the pitch, for instance Haaland, Saka, Trent; then at least one mid priced option like Jackson, Dias, Porro and then one cheap player but with good minutes and fixtures like Wood, Semenyo, Aina. By the way all those mentioned players bar Jackson will be on my WC if I decide to play it this week.

In addition to that leave 0.5M in the bank and you have an easy way to any player in the game with just one transfer (except for Salah but you can't have everything).

Liverpool under Slot looks a lot more compact than it was the case under Klopp. I feel Liverpool's defence might challenge them, but then again - they are priced even higher if you don't go with Konate - who will surely be without attacking contributions.

I like my team a lot better now after the WC chip. Used it a bit early for my liking though.
