I can't get surprise for the next recession as I could still remember what happened in 2008 very well. The war in Ukraine has create a lot of problems already for the market and the risk assets are mostly hit. I will say this meltdown is going to last as far as the war in Ukraine remains with us.

At this point in time the question is how big the next recession or depression is going to be? I won't say anything about luxury housing or private land prices, but I think the need for housing will be constant. I will be surprised by the interest of the people especially in those affected areas of inflation but I think there's no country who didn't suffer from inflation since it seems like almost are all interconnected. When the price of petroleum spike due to the Russia and Ukraine war the petroleum price started to spike in some other countries too. No, I’m not preparing for a “Crypto Great Depression” because I find it highly unlikely that it will happen. I am a firm believer in the utility of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in general. Is it possible that the market crashes and crypto currencies become essentially worthless?

I suppose so. But I find it highly unlikely considering how much an investment has poured in and will continue to come in from institutional, governmental and retail traders. The reality is crypto currencies are here to stay but we have to be patient with the price due to the shaky global economy.

Op wrote so prophetic and was firm about his claims. I agree with him on some issues he raised about inflation and weakness of currencies. This is no longer permutations but becoming reality as the days progress. Every country in on the high lane of inflation and long term recession and it takes information and might to re adjust to avert the looming doom.

But for cryptocurrency, bitcoin especially, it will not be worthless. If anything should happen to bitcoin, it should be from the security aspect of the network and not from utility or price depression to zero. Bitcoin is above that stage of such fear and would never re-test it.

BUT  apart from all the things going in straight line. It is never that easy for me.

You will never grow if this will be your mindset all the time. Yes, we are currently experiencing global recession but hey mate, we are not yet falling apart. And we are still doing things to make the market normal again. But if you focus being negative and discourage the people around you, that way you will never be wanted at all. The current inflation is high, and so we should at least do things like bitcoin investments so we can combat its inflation effects.

I agree - and I am prepared for the great depression.
There is such a big mess that inflation has created - there is no end to end. Only stress and trouble - the life of a middle class person is horrible.

It gets to a point where the people can't hold back their emotions because they have been pushed to the war by the wrong policies of government that made world peace far from humanity and now it is affecting the poor because of the effects of inflation and no jobs. Depression is definitely coming in as scarcity becomes the story everywhere. It is pitiable how the world is turning against the poor.

well thats wrong , the poor maybe poor for now but if will push our life and do everything to make it better then oyou will change the course of life.

being poor is normal but dying poor is laziness.

Most of my non-crypto assets are in equities and mutual funds, but recently I have purchased significant amounts of Gold ETF. A better option would be to purchase physical gold, but then it is not safe to keep these assets at home. I went through the recession of 2008-09, and that was during the early days of my career. So I have some previous experience with recession.

It is nice to see someone that is actually doing something to protect themselves, many people know that something is wrong and that things are about to get worse and yet the only thing they do is to talk about it but they never do anything, and in my opinion even if our options were limited it is important to do something to reduce the effects the coming crisis will have on us, because by the time the full force of the crisis hits us it will be too late to do anything.
