What's the most BTC you've ever spent on something? Must be a consumer product or service, etc.

What was the date and price of BTC at the time?

In my country I can't use BTC directly to spend on any consumer products or services unless I have to convert it to fiat first and I did this conversion at the end of last year when the price of BTC had started to drop from $68K to $50K which made me rushed to exchange it into my local currency as much as 0.1 BTC and after all the BTC became local currency, I used it to open a computer course teaching place for children who dropped out of college or who didn't go to college after graduating from high school or equivalent.
Even though the kids pay when they take the course, but I think it is a very noble job because they can get some computer related knowledge in the course.

Another thing came to my mind, I love to play games, and I remember very clearly that I bought all my steam games from here directly for a long time. I didn't buy the games to be fair, I did that like 3 times only, but most of the time I bought steam wallet codes and people who sold it to be were 50-50% chance either scammers or real people.

Some of them did offer great discounts and had pages and pages of great things written about them, but others offered insane like 50% off, and of course I should have known they were scammers but I always did tests like 20 bucks only, and when I lost it and got scammed, I knew I didn't spend much. So what I spent most was never one game, I spent more on other stuff on single spending, but if you calculate them all together "games" could become what I spend the most money on.

bitcoin as a "spending" thing is not common unfortunately. Sure there are some digital stuff people could pay and get, but as long as I can't pay my bills with crypto, it will not mean anything. For example all of my grocery is digital now, I open up an app and order anything I want, a can of coke, a bread, some tomatos, gallon of milk, ALL my grocery could be done digitally and they will bring it to my house directly.

However, they still do not accept crypto for it, not even stableones which would be amazingly proper. This is why as long as my life is still lived as if bitcoin is just an investment and not a currency, there is really no "real" use case for it just yet.

As of 22/05/2022 1 BTC was $29,963$ and that was when I sold BTC this year (https://imgur.com/ZL0tf3K). I had no other options of paying my school fees 😭 so I had to sell some bit of the BTC to fulfill the fees (https://imgur.com/lmm5CYO)
It is better that BTC price then was still a bit highy

I think it was around 2020, my father needed to go to the hospital but he did not manage to get the money necessary, the same morning he had his appointment I decided to sell around 50$ in BTC I had, for him to afford the visit. I recall the mempool was a kind of full those days, I found myself in a situation I needed to pay a moderately high fee for my father to depart on time, in the end, everything went fine.

The most Bitcoin I have spent on something was 0.03 btc to purchase a laptop computer for myself. This was in May of 2022 and the price of bitcoin was at $31,740. I still remember how excited I felt on that day. Since then, I have enjoyed buying a couple of other stuff using btc.

I once collected a number of BTC in 2019 and then sold all of them into fiat currency as much as 0.17 BTC at the end of November 2020 where at that time it was still in a covid pandemic condition in the area I lived in and at that time the price of BTC itself was almost close to $20K. But I'm grateful because by selling all the BTC I ever had, I was able to open a small cafe to survive, make profit and also be independent. Even though it was hampered by the covid pandemic so I decided to run my business starting early last year.

maybe I haven't sold a lot of bitcoins because I'm still focused on continuing to collect them.
but a few months ago I read a thread about the experience of someone who uses bitcoin as a means of payment. and I'm interested to feel the sensation. and at that time I bought bitcoin at a price of around $19k USD and used it for payment transactions to extend the rental of a villa where I lived only for work. in general the owner of the rental does not accept bitcoins but he does accept it specially just for me. because it turns out that he also knows bitcoin and even invests in it.

one thing that surprised me was that without me realizing it, it turned out that people around me already knew bitcoin before I knew bitcoin and it turned out that I was the only one who was left far behind because it turned out that I was only a person who was new to bitcoin rather than those who had known it for a long time. .

even I now feel at home in the country where I work now.

I was shopping for my daughters dresses for the resumption of school and i paid some cash and then after long discussion on the way the economy of the world is i then told him that ive saved up some of my cash in btc as a long term investment and i also told him he can do so with any small disposable cash. He then asked me to use the remaining balance which was about 25USD to open a wallet of BTC for him i guided him through the process and did kyc for him and transferred 25USD worth of BTC for him

It's funny how things change all of a sudden. In 2017 September when 1 btc was 3900$ or so I earn btc from graphic design which I do for crypto projects in which wanted to run a bounty campaign and gif design for telegram use, I was paid 0.052btc which was worth 216$ as of then. Used the money to buy 4gb ram dedicated graphics laptop 💻. Paid 0.048 btc to the vendor and it was delivered to me.. still using the laptop till now. But as of December same year when btc almost hit 20k$ I was mad and shoot of worlds for months. But life moves on.

This post remind me of when I was busy mining btc from one website www.freebitco.in I made almost about 0.000385 btc from the site.. one day I was going through all the features on the platform and I realized their was options for betting to win a Lamborghini ☺️. I was amazed and I decided to place a bet with all my 2 years earning. It didn't take up to 3 minutes when I lost that earning as if it was nothing, I could not cry that day. Since then I left the site without mining anything again.
It was greed that push me to that, learnt my lessons.

What is funny to me, is that bitcoin was very popular during the existence of Silk Road and many drug addicts payed large sums in bitcoin to get their drugs, since bitcoin was not worth a lot back then. Must be completely fucked up to know that you wast your money for drugs and also could have been a millionaire with the bitcoins.

Crypto is really something else, my first experience in crypto was May 2018 where someone chat me up on twitter and asked me if i can do some job and earn some $ in return and i say yea, i did some retweet and follow jobs just like shilling. and when i asked for my payment he told me it will be wired through btc, i was a kind of confused because i have not made use of bitcoin before and then i asked how. he ask me to go get btc wallet and send over to him, i then ask few of my friends. who helped me with an address which i forwarded to him. the btc was worth 38$ (0.0056btc) then i was very happy and i immediately ask my friend to buy it and i was paid with my local currency which was my first earning from crypto, i use the money to buy a wrist watch to remind me of that day.. the watch is still with me up till date, kind of old though, but i still can't let go of it.

Looking great one.Because due to pandemic most of us had spend bitcoin in food during 2020-2022.It was huge long gap of savings of bitcoin after the pandemic.Because after the food and expenses,we can able to save .But the livelihood was hard one, then we are forced to spend for it.People with huge bitcoin payments only had their savings since 2019.All other was struggling to survive and savings after the survival as everyone knows it.

COVID-19 in 2020 made things so difficult for my family, in the month of march 15th 2020 my big bro was quarantined because he was confirmed positive, he feared that he may die so he gave me 1.03 Bitcoin which was $ 6,300+ then, also gave 0.8 to my Sis. I thought of how difficult things were then and I decided to sell all the Bitcoin and start a Noodles business which can fetch a daily income. Well, I regret selling the Bitcoin when I saw the price in 2021, I just felt like I lost my opportunity to make my first fortune 🔮, even the incomes from my Noodles business is never compare to what I would have made if I was patience to hold that Bitcoin. But I know it was the condition at hand then that lead to all that.

BitcoinBarrel, I can't legally spend bitcoin on products or services because my country forbids it. I would be in trouble with the law if I broke it, but that has never prevented me from having an alternative where bitcoin-fiat conversion is the most logical option.

Spending bitcoins on services or products can be considered as a means to support bitcoin's function as a currency, but fundamentally we have supported this network to become stronger all the time. This means that while we don't spend bitcoins on anything, we support this network to become stronger. I wouldn't say I've bought a house with bitcoin, bought a car, bought a motorcycle, or anything that stands out regardless of the purpose. I'm just grateful that since my participation in the forum, there are some things I bought even though I didn't actually pay bitcoins directly to the seller.

What's the most BTC you've ever spent on something? Must be a consumer product or service, etc.

What was the date and price of BTC at the time?

I bought a piece of software when the price of bitcoin was around 200 dollars and the price of the software was 200 dollars as well, so I spend a whole bitcoin on that, and it turned out that I did not used that piece of software for much after it.

However just a month later I bought back as much bitcoin as I spent on that transaction, I do not remember the price at the time but the price was still close so it was not really a huge loss, fortunately for me I did this because if not I would have huge regrets about spending so much money over a piece of software I did not use.

A whole computer set with a computer table.
It was back in 2018 where I converted all my Bitcoin holdings just to buy a computer set. If I remember correctly, I spent around 0.1-0.15 Bitcoin just to buy the whole set plus the table. It was around $3400-$3500 when I converted it into our own currency.

Until now there is a bit of regret into my mind and asking "What if I didn't bought that computer set and table now? I might buy more and better computer set this year 2022." but what's done is done and the only thing that I can do is to move on and think about the future.
