As we all are seeing the launching of new projects one after one. So, one should take care of many things before investing. How to know the real potential of these new projects?

Honestly, most new projects do have a potential, as they are supposed to be. In the first place, they won't be successful attracting investors if what they offer is a trash and the use-case is not necessary or not appropriate to adopt and integrate in the crypto-world.

But the big question is, will they have a successful run? Will developers continue to be dedicated even the project seems not getting any good attention or being hype? Are they serious on following their roadmap and future development plans? And the most important question, are they really honest and won't turned into scam later on?

It's really risky to be part of the startup. That was part of the risks that needs to be taken note before considering putting money on new projects. If you don't understand the risks, please don't engage. There are other good options that's more worth taking a risk compare to that.

All new projects will come with some sort of risks. If you see a new project and see that the price is going up insanely, high chance it is a scam project and the price is getting pumped by the developers/scammers.
The only way to know that a new project is legit and has potential is through doing your own research. Read the whitepaper, try to know about the team, see how strong the community is, see how much focused they are with their project and look for any bs they spit out. Oh also make sure to run as far as you can if you see the community only screaming "to the moon".

The whitepaper is not important anymore, since 2017 many new projects have been using other old projects whitepaper to write theirs, meaning they change some words and present that to the world as their whitepaper.

If the whitepaper is no longer important and it is not necessary to see it before evaluating a project, what do you think is important to evaluate a project. If you don't read the whitepaper, how do you know the project is copying other projects? Not all projects are copied.

The whitepaper is not enough to confirm whether the project is promising or not, but not reading it is like investing blindly and full of luck.

well, if you want to leave a big risk, then choosing bitcoin and ethereum is the right choice. that's because the potential for new projects is sometimes only visible at first. after that, lots of rugpulls or other FUDs happen. maybe a small part of it made it through that, and made a big profit, that's what investors want, it's just that it's hard to find. Many people assume that doing in-depth research on a new, multi-faceted project will lead to finding such a project. well, that's not wrong, but we also need to know when it's time to leave the ship before when it sinks. this can be done when you continuously make in-depth observations of the project you are targeting. whether it's from the team, and other developments. it would be great if you invest when they have determined the market that will list the coins from their project. however, there is a big risk if you invest in a new project that has no market. The advice I have, try choosing a project that will be listed on a large market such as Binance and Kucoin. it is the closest altcoin project to the rainbow. but still the risk is there.

You do not know and there is not really a way to know beforehand how a project will do in the future, even if you do your due diligence and you find out that the developers are who they say they are, they are talented, big businesses are behind the project and the market conditions were ideal this will still no guarantee you will get positive results.

By doing all the above you can take a calculated risk, but you are still taking a risk and as such you cannot expect to predict perfectly what will happen with each one of those new coins in which you decide to invest, so you will have to accept whatever outcome you get out of your investments.

Some important things to be considered

2. How far the development of projects
3. What already achieved so far
4. Commitment by the developers to the project
5. VC or companies who have been also backed the project

I used all of those things to make sure how potential the project is. It's caused by this is the most difficult thing to be known. I do believe if once the project has been fulfilling all of those things and i will call that as a potential project.

First, By their past projects you can know or identify potential projects in the community because you will definitely know how strong they are to make their project successful in the future. Secondly, by their teams you can know how good they are to their customers before investing on a particular project in the community. Thirdly, by population you can know potential projects through the participants that are part of that particular project before investing. But if the numbers of participant are few in that particular project in the community, don't invest until you carry out your personal research to know how good the project is in the community.

That's not easy to identify new projects have a good potential, by do research, team roadmaps white papers, it is also not enough. Lately investors are rarely interested in new projects, if you OP want to invest in new projects my suggest it's better to hold on and monitor first progress of the project you're aiming, or more suggestions from me better invest in old projects that already have potential.

I can attest to that, if you are monitoring a project do it at least for one complete year and if possible through a bear and a bull market. Most companies do well in the start and crash down during a bear market only to never recover back again.

Hence it can a good yardstick to measure their sustainable model.

Most projects will die out in a few months or so, as far as I have seen. A few others run for a couple of years and then dry out.

If you wait that long, there are two possibilities that could happen. First off is you see it as a good project with no fundamental problems and you buy it during bear and you sell it during bull markets. Secondly, you would be too late, and it will go down and not be anything important ever again, no super high increase in the price, and you would be regretting not buying very early on and selling a bit later.

I would say that the second one is a risk, and you would end up with regret for not making profit while looking at it, but you should be glad not to be holding it when it goes down. First one is easier, because you know it will do well eventually.

Even others copy each others whitepaper and there are no uniqueness of the project itself, so it's hard to know the potential until it was released. As compare to the early years wherein every 10 released, at least half of them is going to be very successful, but not today. Besides, the people behind are not to be trusted or they are just creating projects for pump and dump purpose or even scam investors.

Which is the main reason why so many people are losing interest in investing in those projects, right now we have tens of thousands of coins in the market, do we really need that many? How many different coins have you actually used during the last year? In my case only one and it is bitcoin.

So most of the coins being released today are not only just copies of other projects, we do not really need them for anything, and this explains why the majority of the projects collapse and disappear during their first year of existence.

In the current situation I prefer not to invest in new projects, because I think this action is too risky if you look at market conditions. And I prefer to divert it to just buy popular coins gradually. For me this is much safer and can be said as an additional investment for the long term.

I think the most difficult thing is choosing a project that has the potential to be big, I have participated in many ICOs since 2016 but only a few are successful, most will not survive after 2 years, the competition is so fierce that many projects that look convincing turn out to be scams.

We can't do like guessing, not even seeing their team members are enough. Honestly, this is hard, and investing guarantees nothing. We can just verify and could tell if that project has the potential or not if we do an actual investment.
I'd sometimes use my instinct and sometimes also I fail. it was clear to me that investing in new projects seems too risky, unlike investing in BTC and known potential altcoins.

It was to know that social media could be a huge influence and can create hypes but can't deny also that these social media platforms are known to a big scam. If I am going to invest, I don't just go for this hype and this is not the thing to help to say that it has the potential.
This is a big risk in new projects as it was too hard to tell because some projects looks promising at first and have an active market participation but later on, they turn scam.
