Hi All,

I have had this idea from the very start of the Bitcoin Colouring Book project andI think and hope people find
it interesting and will participate ^{apologies for all the "ands"}

The idea is to have a group of people around the world colour part of 1 book, lets say #50
and then raffle it off for free!

The group of people would be chosen by raffle also.

I kick it off, colour 1 page and then post to the next person who in turn colours a page of
their liking and posts it on. Obviously you will incur a cost of having to post it to the next
in line.

The last and 12th person in the line holds the book until the raffle is complete and then
posts it to the winner.

Its supposed to be a fun project and another give back to the community and should also
gain added value from being created in part by the group ^{and potentially some legends of the Collectibles Board}

So post up what you think!

Ok so this is how I see it happening:

1. One page for everyone except Timelord2067 as he would like two of his mates to
colour a page each, and he bought 2 books which I guess are for those mates, I'm ok with that.[/i][/sup]

2. As mentioned above its freestyle so you can colour a printed page how you like, pencil,
pen, marker*, paint, pastel**, airbrush if you have the skill or collage, but I would
like if the blank pages are kept blank. Everyones ability is different, I think we all understand that,
so no worries about what you can or cannot do, it has to be enjoyable.

3. You can pick whatever page is available, obviously except person #12 on the list, but those
people who are the last positions on the list get to see in the flesh all of the other work!

4. We have 3 continents involved, Europe, Australia and America, I guess we send the book East,
there is no point sending it to Australia to come back to Europe then on to America and back again
to Europe, So I think we keep it as fluid as this:

I know doblezero is in Europe so I will lost the book there, when he/she is finished they post their
work in the thread and the next European puts their hand up and doblezero posts to them. what do you all think?
I have made a list predetermining the journey of the book.

5. Once the book is posted initially by myself, I wont see it again. At the end the person in 12th spot
holds onto the book until the winner of the raffle/auction is decided.

6. Raffle or Auction? a free raffle for the BCT community or an Auction to be split 11 ways for all the Artists?
or charity as mentioned earlier on?

* using felt tip markers with result in a lot of bleeding I'm suspecting and may not be handy in finer details

** pastels, chalk or wax, will need fixing when complete.

I like the idea, but had another variation to throw out there....  What if you were able to contact some of the big influencers in Bitcoin?  What if you got them to color a page or so, and sign it?   Then auction the coloring book off for a charity?   I know it's a bit far fetched, but figured people on this forum could maybe have some contacts and that would make it way more valuable, plus would make the remaining ones more valuable as well.

Im in to color. I like the idea. Getting influencers, celebrities, coin makers, and bit coin people to do it would be really cool as well. Just not sure how you go about getting it done.

I think this is really cool. Another idea would be to have users make pages for a "new", special coloring book. You would set the rules like what size/style pen etc, then we draw stuff to color.

Either way, I'm down for this, it sounds like it may be a forum-legendary thread/coloring book someday! Ofc everyone should sign their page IMO so we know who did what too!

No offence Mark but while I like your enthusiasm that would be far and above what
I had planned. I certainly wouldnt be the person to persue that avenue, and I would concur
with @Cryptogreatdane.

But! maybe some of the legends who have been on this board and are still here would be
up for participating?

I really wanted this like the original Colouring Book to be specific to the forum and to
make it "our" community event.

There will at least be 12 people including myself needed, and if its only another 11 others
there wont be any need to raffle spots for the "art team".

I agree both ideas are good ^{i came up with one of them 😁 but the alternative is good too!}
There are 24 pages in the book, 12 blank and 12 printed we could have 24 participants,
12 colourers and 12 designers but I dont like the idea of 2 designs facing each other with the
media of one contaminating the other ^potentially

Maybe we stick to the original plan and if it is successful run a second with a blank book altogether?

So here are the list of ARTISTS who will work on the #50 Community Bitcoin Colouring Book.

Today I started colouring my own personal copy #25, starting with the first page, here
is another taster of one of the pages coloured. Unfortunately I couldnt get it finished
for this post.

It will be very interesting to see the different styles and approaches to colouring each page.

   I think you would be a valuable edition to the book as one of our most valued members. If you still want to do it and its ok with aoluain, well split a page. Ill color and sign one half. You color and sign the other half. Might turn out cool with 2 perspectives on one page.

This is awesome, however.. I vote to have a strict rule against sharing any of the book before it is completed. That sounds way cooler than updates on the thread and will make it much more of an awesome surprise at the end IMO... However, this is not my project, so take it as you wish... Just thinking, cuz this could be really amazing in the end...

Edit I hope everyone takes their time as well.. Be creative, think of it as a blank slate. Use your creative instincts. It's not a contest, but it would be really nice to see some really cool stuff/ideas beyond just straight coloring... Luckily, I have an artist in the family, who has done some fascinating art already, but has yet to come out of the shadows. I think you will all love it, as I will be working on it as well in the end!

Absolutely, there is no time limit ^{Within reason} I could see this project
taking 12 months but I cant see anyone taking anymore than a month to complete their
page and despatching to the next person.

I thought it would be nice to post your work when you were done but I can also see the
merit of everyone waiting until the end too, I will leave it up to everyone to choose what they
want to do but you can only share your own work is a good rule too.

@owlcatz - artist in the family eh? sounds exciting !

#50 is on its first leg of the journey to doblezero. I got it posted today.

I would ask everyone to post on the thread when they take delivery, and when they despatch that
way we can track its progress!

The next person on the list can contact the person in front with their postal details.

I would recommend using tracking service to send it to next in line. There is already a good
bit of time and energy gone into the first two pages, it would be a shame to see that lost.

Another update on this, apologies for the delay but I have been waiting for mx12.levins

There was me thinking 3 months ago that Timelord might have it for Christmas. Time is

The two pages have been worked out and should be done one per week with myself ensuring the book moves from one person to the next next weekend.

One suggestion they've both had is for a much larger colouring in book next time. A part of the discussion was the contributing artists each do e.g. a half dozen sketches with two or three of each artist included. Then, the remainder being held over for third, fourth volumes.

Will keep you updated over this coming fortnight.

Hello all, I received the book last week - Arrived in fine shape from what I can tell so far, but I'll be honest, I have not looked at it yet!!  (Yes, this has been difficult)!

Reason: My in-house artist has been busy all week with personal issues, and so have I.

I hope to get some progress done this weekend, if I can get some of their time scheduled as well.

Other, than that, I can't say how much I'm looking forward to seeing what's been done so far!

Well, after perusing it, I could suggest perhaps a vote or contest on the favorite one compared to the original artwork.. That was another whole thing actually, just going back to compare against a clean/untouched book. The differences and add-ons are quite amazing, I love them all actually in different ways!

Anyhow, glad to see it leaving it soon and again my deepest apologies for it arriving at a very unfortunate timepoint in my life.

The whole thing itself is a work of art. Perhaps auction it off for a charity? IDK, it's 100% up to you my friend.

Here's an update for the thread; The page that @Syren and I chose is coming along nicely. She, having more skill than I, is using some very neat techniques that take a bit of time to complete. I believe we should have this completed by 09/15 and I will be shipping it to Dane that weekend. I will reach out to Dane to get his shipping and update again when it's been sent on its way.

It's incredible to see the works already completed, the final product with all pages filled in is going to look incredible! It's such a privilege to be a part of this.

It looks fantastic and I think this will be an amazing collectable when its finished. I will keep everyone posted on my progress. I believe it was literally in the same box you had it in when received it from TL, and then I again sent it to xSlyy. I told him to forward that on to Dane as well, so we keep all things intact. (Timelord did a great shipping job, I did a good package as well wrapped again like everyone else so far I think, and used adult signature delivery, which fortunately was fine with xslyy.

Enjoy Geo! Don't feel rushed. Your whole look on it will change once you see it, as some have mentioned! (as did ours lol. Amazing stuff so far, happy to be a part)!

Just to make it clear that it was never my intention for the book to land back with me. Its
my project in terms of the idea but its also everyones project who took part.

What happens after MJ finishes the book has yet to be decided.

b. raffle/auction it among the participants only

If raffled/auctioned, where do the proceeds go?

Regardless of how noble a charity people might put forward, you might get a consensus of sorts, but probably not total agreement. I've seen a few scams in the forum including one purporting to be in the name of the forum but the ones organising the fundraising simply pocketed the funds instead.

I'll go along with the majority if it is an auction then either we divy the funds up equally and dispose of the funds ourselves. Or, if there is a consensus for one charity that is not regional but global e.g. UNICEF or similar, then I won't mind that.

My two cents- i would like to see the money benefit the forum or physical bitcoin in some way. I think right off the top money should be used to fund the series 2 coloring book. That way these become legendary and others can be involved in this community building project. I think the rest of the money should be held by MJ so we can start a fund for victims of physical bitcoin fraud in the future. Ultimately though im on board with whatever the group wants to do.


Edit- maybe instead of a fund for victims it could be a bounty for a person who finds the physical bitcoin fraud. It encourages everyone to keep their eyes open and vigilant

I endorse MJ's suggestion for helping students acquire art supplies to help nurture their creative spirits.

 I mean witch hunt is a little strong. Personally id like to see the funds re-invested in the forum somehow, but i dont have a problem with kids and art supplies. Im just not a fan of giving it to a third party with the hope that kids get some supplies. Id rather buy supplies and give them to kids ourselves. Whatever you guys want to do is fine with me. I did this because I like to color.

I don’t believe anybody who participated in this project had financial gain on their mind, so any funds received via raffle or auction should go to a worthy cause either on or off the forum. But, I also don’t think it should go to a global charity because most of those are extortion campaigns veiled as nobility. What did I hear, that less than 10% of donated funds actually end up where they belong? Another problem Bitcoin fixes   Just my 2 sats.

I like Timelords thinking but its true that a lot of the funds donated to these global
charities go firstly to staff, offices and operations. Very little end up "at the coal face"

... I think right off the top money should be used to fund the series 2 coloring book.

Well of course, I want nothing more than for the whole world to see it, but my question was more about what "the final owner" would/could/should do with it sorta thing.

I just wanted to do something different for the collectibles board and create a community
project around MY first BTC project.

The idea of privacy was to protect each artists work while the project was live, you could
always share your own work but not other participants work!

Ok, I have finished my page of the book and it is on its way to Geo. He will update the thread once it arrives. Here is a picture of my art page. I chose the least intricate page to do. This picture does not capture the beauty of my picture. I used metallic acrylic and some really shiny gold and silver. Also the wheel has red and black sparkle paint. I looks really good in the light. This book is really great. Every page looks amazing and you can tell that a different artist did each page. Just my opinion but I think when this book is finished it needs to be shared with the community prior to sale. I think you will get higher bids if people can see what they are buying. I don't understand the mindset of keeping it hidden and letting the buyer decide if they want to share it.

Gold and Silver always works, I have used them myself on my own book. Love the sparkle idea
too, would love to see it in the flesh and the same for all the other pages.

I did encourage everyone to post a pic of their own work at the start but not everyone chose
to do so - which is ok too.

Anyway, great to hear its on its next leg of the journey, getting close to the finale too!

  Lol, the P is very small you just cant see it, lol. In my defense this is the first time ive autographed as CGD.

Regarding the picture.  I wasnt even sure if it was suppose to be a roulette wheel. I think the slats at the bottom are for chips maybe. I thought for a minute about freehanding chips in but decided against it. This picture really pops in person. The gold, silver, copper, and emerald are all acrylic metallic. The wheel sparkles like crazy. It looks good in the book but distinctly different from other things people have done

I used a lot of symbolism in the book and on each design. The roulette wheel symbolises
each million coin mined. The 4 millionaires are playing at the wheel. The 1 in the centre
represents the the first it also represents Bitcoin being the first and its value being one
day 1,000,000 hence the six 0's at the bottom which also are a joke to those who thought,
think Bitcoin is going to zero.

Its a good bit cryptic nonethless and probably nobody would read it that way.

Dane did you do a video of your page and how the light affects it by any chance?

wow - TBH I had totally forgotten about this project ^{I have a lot on my plate ATM}

I have had a sneak preview of some of the pages as some "artists" have shared their
page with me but I'm sure the physical thing will be outstanding.

MJ - just a tip, but you could photocopy your page and do a trial run on that so you
can see if you are happy with what you plan to do, anyway - I'm sure it will be fine.

Remember the poster project? some were apprehensive about doing their page and
it turned out really well.

As to "what do we do when its finished?

Its remarkable that we got to this point with the book travelling so far and through
so many "trains, planes and automobiles" without getting lost or seriously damaged.

My two options to decide its next journey are:

1.) Raffle it among the participants only

I like selling to the community, but I also like sharing the pictures ahead of time so the buyer knows what they're getting. That should also help the sale price. Whatever happens it was a fun project and glad I could be part of BTC collectables history.

Crazy, mx12art in this book, brings back memories. I'd love to see the final result, it's a gift to the community. I don't need anything in return, it's amazing to be a part of it. Seeing it would help me remember that time, which I otherwise might forget. That's why I paint.

I agree with you there MX12 - it was fun receiving the book and seeing the previous participants artistry then wondering what else could be done with the remaining pages.

In the meantime, I'd like to make a slight modifier on suggestion two - the book gets auctioned and the funds are used to create a second book and if the funds allow, it covers the cost of postage to new contributors.

While I didn't contribute art myself, the two artists here did remarkable jobs.
