Ukraine lost it because they were antagonizing Russia since 2014. Russia is simply doing something about it. If you want to tease the big Russia guy, you are going to get results. And that is what Ukraine did and got.

Ukraine lost it because they were antagonizing Russia since 2014. Russia is simply doing something about it. If you want to tease the big Russia guy, you are going to get results. And that is what Ukraine did and got.

The Russian people and their country had a chance to become a normal European country, but this chance is lost. Now nothing will be left of Russia as an empire, and the Russian people will live in poverty for many years, paying indemnities, because you have to pay for everything, this is how the world works.

The recent development is clearly showing that Russia is losing. In the long run it's going to be the same if NATO keeps supplying Ukraine. The power of Russian army was greatly overestimated. They have great numbers but rely on Soviet technology, especially in the most basic stuff like uniforms, medic kits, field rations. I've seen a number of reports and interviews with Russian soldiers who claim that no vehicle they had was fully functional. Some had broken radios, other automatic loaders, some were leaking fuel or coolant, some were overheating. There's a tanker who claims they were fighting in a group of 2 and their tank had a broken auto loader and their teammate had engine problems. Basically they had 2 tanks but one was driving and the other one was shooting so they abandoned both of them in the end. All that Russia has is manpower and nuclear weapons. You can't hold enemy territory with these if you have no supplies. Ukraine has infinite supplies as long as NATO is in the game.

I would not call it losing.

They will be forced out of Kherson city in a matter of weeks and maybe a large part of the Luhansk oblast, but this is far from losing.

Russians will continue to plunder whatever they occupy, but I don't think they will give up invading the rest of Ukraine again.

Ukraine needs to continue grinding and biting on small pieces.  Eventually, they will push them out.

In the spring, I expect Putin to try to invade Kyiv/Kharkiv/Kherson/Luhansk again.

In Putin's delusional mind he is winning because he 'annexed' four Ukrainian oblasts.
In his mind and the mind of all his Putiniatkas, he achieved his goal of returning 'Russian lands' to the Russian empire.

This thing will last at least until the end of 2024.

PS. When all Ukrainian lands are freed, and the Ukrainian flag is raised in Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, and Sochi, I would call it losing.
Until then it is just a meat grinder.
