ABOUT BABACOIN

Babacoin is a community-oriented cryptocurrency with its own blockchain. BBC is the network's native coin, not a token issued on another chain.

Launched in 2022, the project combines GhostRider Proof of Work with a SmartNode service layer. CPU and GPU miners contribute hash power, while SmartNodes support services such as InstantSend and ChainLocks.

Our founding ambition is reflected in the original slogan above: make a positive contribution. We continue building practical tools, clearer information and more accessible ways to participate in the network.

CURRENT CORE RELEASE — v2.0.2

Babacoin Core v2.0.2 is the latest published release as of this update. The Explorer backend has also been upgraded.

This maintenance release improves desktop recovery when a previously selected wallet data folder has moved or becomes unavailable. It retains the V2 responsiveness improvements, bootstrap import progress, day/night interface, localized amounts and SmartNode setup tools.

It adds no new consensus, collateral or key-format change over v2.0.1.

Upgrade carefully: back up your wallet, close the old application cleanly, choose the correct package for your platform and verify the published checksums. Read the release's migration, runtime-library and security notices, including the Windows security notice. Follow your security software's warnings.

IMPORTANT V2 NETWORK TRANSITION

Every validator must upgrade before the first 2,000,000 BBC SmartNode registration. This includes validating wallets, exchanges, pools and nodes. Registration has no opening block: do not wait until block 1,250,000 to upgrade.

Separately, the 1,800,000 BBC collateral tier loses reward eligibility at block 1,250,000.

The website and Explorer show the remaining validated node blocks to this milestone. The countdown is not a calendar-date prediction, and connection/synchronization status explains when local data may be behind.

Installing new software does not move your coins, automatically change collateral or register a SmartNode. Follow the official transition instructions before changing an existing setup.

Web Wallet and documentation

The Web Wallet provides account-based access to BBC; Babacoin Core is the self-custody option. These are different custody models.

Web Wallet v1.1.64 includes a standalone, full-width documentation workspace for visitors and signed-in readers. The knowledge centre offers 20 guides across six categories, search, category filters, mobile navigation, section links and copyable code examples. Light/dark themes and English/Turkish documentation interfaces are supported.

DEVELOPMENT AND ROADMAP


Our available ecosystem includes Core software, SmartNodes, the Explorer, Web Wallet and public documentation.

The next published roadmap workstream is a Babacoin merchant payment gateway, currently using the working title BiPAY. The proposed scope includes:

• Hosted BBC checkout and an invoice API.
• Network confirmation tracking and signed webhooks.
• Planned connectors for WooCommerce, OpenCart, WHMCS and WISECP.

The payment gateway is planned work, not a live payment service. The final name, scope and timing remain subject to development, testing and review. No launch date has been announced.

Creating a new coin is easy, however, the sustenance of its market is hard.
