It's because he wanted more, that's why he comes back and think that his luck will continue. This is just one example why gamblers can't control with their emotions. I mean what else do you want? you already have a huge winning, $8k will be enough. But that is not the case for most gamblers specially if that is the first time that they have won that kind of amount. It looks to me as though the person in subject of the story doesn't have enough chill spot, so after he won and went home...he feels like chilling with the money he just won, but since the casino is the only option on his list, he heads back there, maybe with the mind of not wanting to gamble but getting to the casino, he gambles and looses it all, sad case, bottom line for me is have multiple relaxation zones on your list, it doesn't always have to be around a casino. It could be a restaurant, a bar, a park etc. just have options.

Luckily I didn't have that kind of experience because if that happened to me, I would be frustrated and it's a painful loss after getting a big win. That person is too greedy and continues to use his money, including his winnings, to play gambling. If he could just go home and not go back to the casino, he might be enjoying the big winnings and won't be going back to the casino for a while. The story sounds familiar to me, as I've had an experience with this kind of situation like a couple or more times.
This is what happen when you're urge to gamble more as you think the luck is all on your side for the said day.
However, luck may come and go any second of the day.
It is the greediness of the person that pushes him to walk back to the casino to try and win more.
This is the reason why majority of gamblers doesn't really win against casino, coz the accumulation of all your losses won't cover a single night of luck.

$8k was enough to walk away with  but greed made him make that silly choice of going back to try some more luck. I have never had such heavy wins but i have friends who can share their feelings when they won theirs. The case is almost the same as mine, at least quite often in the past but for fiat casinos. This is greed on my part because I really want to win a bigger amount of money without thinking about the risk of losing all those winnings. Greed is the worst way to lose everything in gambling and many gamblers find it very difficult to avoid this because they want to win something bigger. There is no best way to get rid of greed other than self-awareness, it usually changes when you lose a lot of wins.

I guess this happen most of the time especially if you are still on a state of cloud 9 where you are too hyped to play more, tendency is you can lose that money. This might be the result of having no plan or gambling strategy at all, losing your self-control is very risky, this is another warning to every gambler, either you are winning or losing you still need to have a plan.

It never happened to me as every time I win, I'll walkaway and make myself satisfy with my winnings and make sure that I should enjoy that profit I've made.

This is a typical example of irresponsible gambling. I wouldn't judge the man gambler though because of you are a real gambler, you would either have done this or have fought the urge to do it after a big win. Lol, I don't think it's irresponsible gambling because I have witnessed this scenario countless times. Most times gamblers see the opportunity of a big win as a lucky day so they try to increase their stake or gamble more thinking they will get more winnings for the day but at the end, they lose everything. This is something that I have been mentioning whenever people ask for information about this kind of circumstance- I call it the cycle of gambling.

Whenever a person gambles, the goal is always to win but our instinct is to fight back. Whenever we experience a loss, we have this feeling that we want to recover our losses by betting again. This cycle happens until the person runs out of resources; or decides to go home and celebrate. Unfortunately in this case, the person was not contented enough and decided to try out his luck, only to end up losing everything.

I remember my brother also experienced this situation. He told me to specifically stop him if we won at least twice. He won thrice that night but when I tried to stop him, he decided to gamble it again only to lose his monthly savings.
