Do not forget that there is always a consequences for every action we take whether it is a positive one or negative. Going against the law cam be so easy for us but if we are eventually caught, we might regret our actions and pay with severe loses. Like medicine to the body so is gambling to a core gambler. Someone like me there could only be some limits at the rate to which I go on gambling due to the restrictions but the law doesn't stand a chance in stopping me completely from gamblers as long as online gambling sites exist.

let's be honest here, I would still gamble, and the majority of gamblers will do the same, especially addicts, I would ignore that law but I have to be careful, I gble with just what I can afford do I know it's not harming me, but if things were too tight and the government started taking serious actions I might avoid it and stop gambling.

It would be indeed difficult for gambling addicts to stop gambling if the government puts a law against gambling. The only way these people will stop if a few of them are being punished for gambling and the rest will get some lessons from it. Governments can also ban some websites, but it is possible to access banned sites through VPN. The same goes for online casinos. Although governments want to ban them, users will try to reach them somehow. Such prohibitions only work for a short time. Once people find a way to circumvent the bans, they don't make any sense. If the government bans online casinos, I guess I'll look for a way to circumvent the ban.

To know about the numbers it is not necessary to wait for the government to make the gamble illegal. There are many countries where the government banned bitcoins but people still play there. Check how many people are accessing gambling sites from those countries.

I don't want to be KJ in this thread but, does government has the idea to ban gambling? I think it is impossible to banned gambling since taxes coming from gambling are known to be bigger than other sectors, they also gets benefit to it. We should not forget that the authorities have more serious problems to solve which they spend their time and money. The saying "another person's food is another person's poison" just came to mind because of what you said. No matter how many restrictions and bans are placed on anything, people will always find a way to do it in a way that makes them happy. I don't see any reason why the government would want to outlaw gambling while allowing people to consume alcohol freely, that doesnt make too much sense to some extent but the limitation is not bad at all, hence I think that is why we have the age as a yardstick in gambling in most countries.
