I own some Baikal X10 Miners. Most of them work like they should and mine GRS for me.
For some reason 3 of the miners that i recently bought does not let me choose the groestl algorythm to mine and I do not understand why.

I flashed PiZero_GX10_190623_V2.2 to the SD card but that made no difference.
Is there anything else that needs to be updated?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

It should be just a FW difference. Compare the rigs that work vs the ones that don't and note all differences, hardware, SW everything.
You could try clomning the FW from a rig that works to one that doesn't to see if that makes a difference.
It's a matter of identifying the point of deviation, the one thing that makes the difference between working and not working.

Then it's whether it's something you can fix like FW, or not like HW.

Sorry to be so vague but I've never got my hands on one so I can't be more specific.

Sorry can't help you with specifics. FW can mean a few different things like the bootloader,
networking, management etc. But it's also the part that directs the ASIC chips to produce the
desired hash. The Baikal is basically a x11 miner and Groestl is a subset of x11. If the chips can do x11
they can also do Groestl, Quark, etc with the right FW telling the ASIC chips what to do.

Theoretically the HW should be the same and you only need the FW that knows about Groestl.
I don't know how Baikal packages their FW and whether it's in seperate files.

Hopefully someone more familar with Baikal miners can help you out. Good luck.

There are many miners in Russia who use ASIC Baikal. I haven't had any of these, so I can't help either. I suggest you ask for help on the Russian miners forum.
Write 2 posts in English and through a translator in Russian

There are a few different Versions of Baikal Miners , the Baikal Giant X10 Miner only supports X11 / Quark / Qubit Algo.
The Baikal BK-X 10 supports all this  Algos : X11, Quark, Qubit, Myriad-Groestl, Skein, Nist5, X11Gost, Groestl.
Maybe you have one thats not exactly the same as the others or it got damaged and you cant mine that Groestl Algo with it.

If the control boards in ASICs are the same, then this is a problem in the firmware. Here we need help from the community to advise on the correct firmware, because these algorithms are similar and ASIC chips can work on both algorithms.

Unfortionatly they blocked my account
Add photos of ASICs with data on tags and data with firmware, I will create a topic for you.

I have two or three BK-X10 and a single BK-G28 I've been debating running again as well. Seems BK-G28 is fairly profitible on GRS.

Is this just because no new GRS miners have been created since BK-G28 and thus difficulty is kept low?
