What if we take alt-coin to mean altruistic-coin rather than alternative-coin?
I propose that an altruistic coin is one whose emission doesn't favor its creators or early adopters.
It should favor the late adopters.
One such emission is the simplest one possible: one coin per second, forever.
This is trivially implemented by having a fixed block reward (subsidy) equal to the block interval in seconds.
Altruistic coins avoid wealth concentration and deter speculation, while encouraging use as a currency.
After several decades of wide distribution, they have inflation rates comparable to fiat, but unlike fiat,
this rate remains perfectly predictable and ever-decreasing.
There should be more altruistic coins...
It is going to be very difficult to change the definition of a word just like that, we must remember that this is a process, so for what you say to actually happen then we will need the majority of the altcoins in the future to be released with this feature, so the meaning of the word changes in the minds of the majority of the people, but will this ever happen? I do not think so, as we know the majority of those coins are released with only one intention behind them, and that is to make money for the developers of such coins.
