I was just reading some articles on the web and upon every scroll, there was this gambling ad belonging to a casino that just displays, sometimes even covering parts of the text of the article i was reading, then at some point, i began to imagine myself as a gambling addict who is struggling to quit or reduce my gambling habit, and going online and seeing Ads of different kinds from different casinos, would this Ads lure the gambler back into gambling notwithstanding that he or she is trying to stop ?

If this continues to happen again and again, do you think such a person will ever leave such a habit?
It will all come to you being a disciplined person.
I believe that a disciplined person will not fall into some ads from different gambling websites are there. Even a particular website is full of banners of gambling sites, you as a gambler if being disciplined will just simply ignore it or just exit from that website.

On the other hand, this is hard to do especially if you are an addicted gambler because they tend to have a harder time quitting on what they really want to do. Maybe not visiting too many websites will help. Spending your time into different things like playing online games might help you. As with the habit one, it will be hard because if you always see banners of gambling ads on a daily basis, you will feel the urge to gamble, and it will keep going as long as you see gambling website banners.

And another question is, if you are addicted to gambling and wants to quit but discovers that seeing gambling Ads on the internet is one of the triggers that lures you into gambling again, is it possible for you to stay away from the internet until you are sure you've completely healed from that addiction?
Staying away from the internet? It might help but the question now is can you live without internet.
For me, it isn't necessary to stay away from the internet but spend your time in other things on the internet. Watching videos, watch movies or play online games. Anything that will entertain you might do but just stay away from websites that has many ads of gambling sites.

If we ban gambling adds because gamblers might see it and feel the need to gamble maybe we should ban models in swimsuits because sex addicts might feel the need to masturbate. Or let's ban food pictures because people with eating disorders will have a hard time.

This doesnt makes sense to some extent, you can't ban food because it is a necessity, though I feel Sex adverts doesnt have a financial effect as gambling does, the reason why some people feel gambling is a headache to people is financial concerns and addiction and we all see how they are been advertise here and there but I can't boast that I haven't seen sex board been publicly displayed without broadcasting agency interfering and I don't think there is anyone here who dislike food or food adverts at least, we all do.

Anyone who thinks gambling adverts should be outlawed isn't a serious person. If you don't enjoy casino games, at least you'll appreciate sports because it's the reward and aspiration of certain fans of football. Gambling doesn't affect you until you've begun or had the fervour to participate.

Controlling yourself in gambling is very difficult at times. I became addicted at one point early in my gambling life. When I was losing again and again I got frustrated and tried to take a break from it for a while but couldn't do it. But eventually I brought it under control. I have been able to understand my past mistakes. Knowing the rules of gambling before becoming addicted can benefit a gambler in many ways. Greed is the biggest enemy in the gambling world. Gambling conducted with caution will result in relatively high success rates.

Quitting gambling is hard especially if you have fallen deeply into a gambling addiction. Temptations will be everywhere and we can always see advertisements of gambling casinos promotions and bonuses which can attract us to try out again. If we want to completely leave gambling, then we should really commit ourselves to a real change leaving and ignoring all the temptations to gamble behind. It needs determination, discipline, and self-control to ignore anything that will attract us to gamble again. It will be challenging but once we surpass all those temptations and challenges, good things will surely follow.

actually the desire to stop gambling has become the initial capital to be able to stop being an addict, so why do we have to control our emotions in gambling because if we can control our emotions of course we can control our thoughts and desires to gamble again
it is easy than done mate , there are so much to look at before making this possible , and that comes with "Are we truly understand why we are leaving?" or " Are we Only saying this because of the losses we gather these days"

leave gambling with complete desire and will and not because of the activities you have recently .

Quote
After all, as long as we can change our mindset, we gamble just to have fun, not to make money. I think changing that mindset will help too that sometimes people usually gamble because they are curious to win a lot of money and not for fun, so just changing our mindset seems like we can stop. become addicts, so there is no need to stay away from the internet either because it is good if we divert to something else on the internet that is more positive will help us also avoid addiction
but it is nothing to do with reality mate,  gambling just for fun and never to make money? tell me someone that completely love losing? because gambling is to lose and not to win.
it's not easy to do but actually it can be done as I can stop smoking when I was previously a cigarette addict and had to see cigarette advertisements on TV when I was in the stage of wanting to quit smoking it goes back to our mindset that we are okay without smoking or the like we can't live without gambling and we can have fun without gambling meaning like that

it's true that no one wants to lose money but this is where our mindset is placed, if we focus on finding victory when we lose we will continue to play until the end but if our mind is only to have fun when we lose we will consider it normal, We all know gambling just to lose in the casino but we have an opportunity when we bet on sports betting that we are more likely to win than playing casino betting which is based on luck

Truth is, they don't, and they will assume that all the ads, newsletters, and every material that they're sending out is harmless. That's why self-exclusion is implemented for them not to get bombarded by these ads that could potentially bring back their urge to gamble and destroy their streak of not gambling and destroying their lives. They rely mostly on user input and autopilot, and even self-exclusion sometimes doesn't work at all. This is why casinos should really do something ethical and promote self-exclusion on people who are in the brink of destroying their lives, kinda like the warning that they place on every pack of cigarettes.

We must be optimistic if we want to stop gambling so that any influence will not bring us back to gambling, even though the challenges are difficult but at least we must stay away from anything related to gambling, if for example we only see gambling advertisements accidentally then it has no effect unless he intentionally accesses gambling account then it is likely to return to bet in gambling.

Fortunately I'm currently in a position where the money I lose I am comfortable with losing however this hasn't always been the case.
Intrusive advertising has always been difficult for me, even if it's just an increased odds on a Sportsbet eg: Haaland to score.

However I feel very fortunate with improvements to sites such as GamBan, that without I feel a lot more people would be struggling.
It's definitely something that makes it harder to an addicted gambler, however I can't see much change coming in terms of it.

Nowadays sports betting ads are everywhere: TV commercials, Sports team sponsors, Athlete ambassadors, what's next?

One thing that really stands out [is notable], is the example of Paul Merson,an ex-footballer who's now a commentator/pundit for Sky Sports came public and talked about his own addiction that seemed pretty extreme, however he now has to be part of promoting the gambling that Sky offer.
^ I feel this especially something needs to change

Ads can lure an addict back to gambling but every one should be accountable for their actions. Gambling ads cannot seize because gamblers are getting addicted this where discipline and determination comes in. it is best the gambler engage themselves in things that will make them distracted during such advert. Gambling companies make their publicity and offers through this adverts so it is the duty of the gambling addict victim to distract themselves from those advert to avoid been lured

Yes, and remember that this ads being displayed but any websites? they make money out of it, like when someone click or even play on that site. So still very dangerous world for recovering gambling addicts, you need to have the self discipline and determination to not get yourself be tempted and lure back because you see an ads and something gets you nervous. Make your self busy, do some meditation on the side if you feel like there is an itch inside you wanting to get back to gambling again. For sure if you practice self control, no amount of adverts will make you comeback, it starts on our brain and we should take control of our emotions.

If we ban gambling adds because gamblers might see it and feel the need to gamble maybe we should ban models in swimsuits because sex addicts might feel the need to masturbate. Or let's ban food pictures because people with eating disorders will have a hard time.

Your addiction is yours to fight and control. You can't expect the whole world to help you with it. Don't ant to see ads? Lock yourself in a room and don't come out until you're healed.
It’s hard to stay away from gambling if you are still seeing a lot of gambling ads all over the internet, but you can’t stop the trend about gambling, you should be the one to hide from it and divert yourself into another hobby that you will get interested. Yes, fight and control it, you can always stop your gambling addiction as long as you also set things right.

Find a good reason why you are staying away from gambling and be religious to it.
If you decide to change, always remind yourself why you are changing for the betterment of yourself.
Ads will always be there as you browse the net. You can always opt to not staying long over the internet.
As you said, make yourself busy with other worthwhile activities. It is only you who can truly help yourself for this change.

And another question is, if you are addicted to gambling and wants to quit but discovers that seeing gambling Ads on the internet is one of the triggers that lures you into gambling again, is it possible for you to stay away from the internet until you are sure you've completely healed from that addiction?
To be honest, someone who has a gambling addiction will be easily influenced and come back again when they see anything related to gambling. Especially if they often see gambling ads every time they make something, such as when playing games and others. Because we know how many gambling ads are online today, wherever, there are always these ads. So this will remind them of gambling activities and attract them back. Maybe not everything will be that easy, however, this could be one of the factors of failure.

What's more, someone who is undergoing treatment for gambling addiction should not get distractions related to gambling because sometimes this will complicate the treatment process. What is more important is, to stay focused on recovering from gambling ads, and tell someone who is an expert about the problems you are facing, including distractions like this. So, you can be better able to control and control yourself even if you see ads or other things.

And another question is, if you are addicted to gambling and wants to quit but discovers that seeing gambling Ads on the internet is one of the triggers that lures you into gambling again, is it possible for you to stay away from the internet until you are sure you've completely healed from that addiction?

You cannot stop seeing those ads and you cannot stop from being on the internet and not seeing those ads you have no control over that, what you have to control is your urge and your reaction, if the only way to get out of addiction is to be away in the internet then it's your choice when quitting on something it is always on choice and control, if you don't have these two then you're not really that serious and it will only take a three-second ad to get you on your favorite casino.
Being away in the internet these days is just too hard to imagine because internet is already a big part in our lives, but if it’s the only way to heal your gambling addiction, then do it. And maybe delete all your gambling apps in your phone too so that you will not be tempted anymore. If you do it with strong determination with some family support, I think you will succeed from leaving gambling for good.

^Definitly right and that is the right way as a good gambler.
Do not focus on gambling if you did not want to be addicted and ads there is nothing we can do, even though there are a lot of them as long as you know how to fight your urge, they are just nothing. Fighting and controlling your urge is not an easy way, so as I have said, do not focus on gambling and find some things that you can alternate on it. If you really want to stop you can stop even seeing ads on street.
However, this actually happened in my real life but I still cope and find a better place that heals my addiction.

Gambling can be addictive if we don't know how to organize and fix ourselves. Some persons fighting gambling addiction is doing that as a result of self control and the people around them. To relinquish from gambling addiction the people around us can be of great help to help us stop gambling too much.
Gamnking add can also have effect on a gambler making them to have a rethink about going to gamble again especially when they are trying their best to make sure that the stop gambling by all means.

Some people may be able to control themselves eventually.
Lucky for that person if he is still healthy and can control the excessive addiction.
For some people to control themselves is not very easy.
Some of them have tried to be disciplined and distract from their excessive addiction but in the end they still come back to lose money.
Here also the role of the family or the closest person will be very important to help pull him out of addiction.

But dont make yourself get into that point on where you do seek off for some external help which is something not everybody would be preferring because they are really ashamed on what they had into.

Even myself wont really be taking this as an option yet you could eventually quit up if you wanted to.Its true that it would really be depending on someones self control or discipline

since not all are not that strong and discipline on coping or avoiding on something. When you do have addiction problems then it would really be that just
normal that you would be tending to avoid all sorts of things which is related to it.Some might say that those cant make some effect but you cant
really able to say so or make out conclusions.

We must be optimistic if we want to stop gambling so that any influence will not bring us back to gambling,

Not only optimistic, but we also need more than that in order to stop gambling when we are in a state of gambling addiction.  We need strong will and self-control to overcome that uncontrollable urge to gamble.

even though the challenges are difficult but at least we must stay away from anything related to gambling, if for example we only see gambling advertisements accidentally then it has no effect unless he intentionally accesses gambling account then it is likely to return to bet in gambling.

Indeed the challenges is very difficult, even staying away from things that is related to gambling is quite hard. so we need a lot more effort to control ourselves since we need to stay away from the sites that advertise gambling.  At most, we should keep ourselves away from internet to avoid such ads.

Without a doubt it is becoming more and more difficult to leave behind any kind of addiction than in the past because now things are way more easy to access, and giving up our phones or computers is not very realistic either as a great deal of our jobs are now done through the use of computers, so addicted gamblers are in deep trouble as the tool they use to access all kind of information online can also be used to access their biggest weakness and they cannot get rid of it matter how hard they may try.

Very much agree.

During this modern times, it's really a necessity now to have an accessible gadget to have your things to do done in short period of time. Cellphones and laptops are needed to function in this day. It's no longer a luxury, but a necessity to have an operational gadget and application you can use to accomplish your tasks whether it is intended for school requirements or work related. Hence, the struggle of those who want to withdraw from their gambling addiction is getting so much harder because of the demands and the current way of living.

If you are an addicted gambler and you want to withdraw, it'll be so hard to just abandon your gadgets and the internet altogether because you have to work in order to earn money. However, the temptations of opening up a gambling website or installing an app is just at the palm of your hands. This is why most gamblers fail to quit because of the easier access we have now.

I think going to therapy and undergoing certain treatment specially made for a gambling addict is one of the best ways to quit gambling with lesser probability of undergoing relapse and repeated cycle of withdrawal and going back. If gamblers will just quit instantly, there's a higher chance he'll just go back because of craving for thrill and enjoyment he's used to. The best approach would be slowly removing it from someone's system without so much restriction and pressure being put into them. That way, they won't crave for it and they'll hardly be affected by the advertisements online.
