What happened: This is another exchange platform that someone sent me via Discord to trade on, and after I tried to withdraw the money I got from his promo code for a value of $3,727.55, it turned out that this platform is a scam exchange asking for a deposit of at least 0.01 BTC / 0.1ETH so that I can withdraw.

Fresh scam websites are created regularly. They will close and days later then will open another one using a different website. Scammers are everywhere and there are more of them in these hard times. Telegram, discord and social media platforms are nothing different from emails spammed with suspicious links. We are safer if we ignore and do not click on direct messages from unknown sources. You may encounter links in a form of a website but it will lead you to download some type of malware.

The dm is a clear attempt to scam you. No one is going to dm someone they didn't know and will offer money. I am receiving countless of dm too on my discord and I keep ignoring them.

Don't forget to also hit the "report spam" button on discord. When I can, I report to mods of mutual servers as well. Sometimes they do mass kicking of dm scammers and/or publish "be careful" announcements.

This is an old scheme and scammers are using it on casinos too, casinos and exchanges are the popular platforms that these scammers are using because they know that many holders and investors of Cryptocurrency are trading and playing in casinos, is casinos and exchanges are new and there no positive feedbacks or articles on them on popular Crypto media they are likely to scam.
No reputable exchange will credit you randomly with that huge amount there's always a hidden agenda and they will use the same scheme in the future because it is easy to implement and they know there are many out there who do not know yet how this scheme works and are greedy.

Common scam techniques has been used by that scammer and people need to know that there's no something like that exist especially if they offer huge money for doing nothing or by doing simplest task. People always seek for second opinion so that they will not fall on traps set by this scammers also people need to understand that if its good to be true for them its not really true word simple to understand and so very helpful.

These scammers thrive on people's greediness and lack of patience to do research or ask those veteran investors, there should be a logic to why they pick you and give you that huge amount not just randomly because there is no such thing as random winners, you have to be a participant of a contest or a user of a platform to get rewarded and it's not even a huge amount of money.

Cryptocurrency is already over ten years old and all forms and schemes of scamming are already exposed, it's just the victim's unwillingness to do research that will cost him.

No people will get scam if they seek for more better information and be realistic on things that no one will give them easy money. This scammers use peoples greed so that they can take advantage with them and besides there are so many bad stories about this that we can learn from so I guess there's no excuse for anyone to get scam by this classic scammers so we need to act smart especially talking on about our investments.
