Some possible reasons:

  • Saturation of bullish market (end of a cycle). We know a positive trend can't last forever, especially when prices are already too high in a short time period. That is what happened in 2021.
  • Scams involving big companies and names of crypto industry. Many investors got scared because even the big companies on this industry aren't able to guarantee safety to customers and their funds. The impunity for scammers is also a big disincentive for investors this time.
  • War. This is a double edge sword point: at same time efforts and expenses with war demand more money, it could be also a powerful booster for bitcoin, because donations can be sent to both sides of the war in cryptocurrency. The adoption and usage could be increasing, consequently impacting the market positively. Moreover, sanctions encourage people using crypto to avoid the prohibitions when transacting to foreigner lands.
  • Interest rates (economical policies). The FED policy caused a lot of damage to crypto market this year. The constant increasement on interest rates by regulators took big players of crypto market to the traditional market in USA and possibly Europe, because interest rates were also raised there.
All of them are hugely affecting not only crypto but also the economic system of all countries. It is really hard to get away from them and make crypto soar high continuously but surely we can see it dump eventually.
As to consider the current situation, it will take too long to see the market moves upward. The war continues and I can see this is a huge contributing factor to inflation and affects the volume of crypto investors. I'm not sure how far the price will Bitcoin could reach in the next Bullrun, doubted if it will surpass  $100k if all of those things that you have mentioned will continue.

Hi all,my friends
I've been away from cryptoworld for 2 years and i want to ask something to the esteemed audience
What the fuck is going on here?
I'm sorry,i don't have any other words
Why is bitcoin trading at 2020 prices?
This is unbelievable!!!
I sold all my bitcoins in 2021 and went to live in another country and left the cryptoworld, but i'm shocked
Is this all because of the war?
Or because of the government sticking its nose into this market?
What happened?Huh
We are in a bear market and apart from that the current downturn is also due to some global factors like inflation which is on the rise so it is natural to see that the bitcoin price is now trading below $20k isn't this also what happened in the past when the bitcoin price managed to reach ATH and after that the market will undergo a correction that will take a little time to recover. I think if you've known bitcoin for a long time then you also know what's going on in the market right now.

We will always have cycles in crypoto where the price would go down and we would not be able to actually see it going up if we just sell it, we need to hold it so we could face the period when it goes up as well. I personally hold it right now as much as I can and I believe that it will keep on going higher and higher, no matter how low it goes, I just tell myself to wait longer and it will get higher.

This is why it's quite important to never lose hope in bitcoin. If you lose your hope, then bitcoin will not care about it, but you will lose when it goes up. I will never lose hope, and I will always trust that it will go up a lot when the time comes.

Trust and patience are the key since we already know that bitcoin has its own comeback, and when it does, I am sure multiple ATHs will again be achieved. Only newbies and the inexperienced are the only ones who lose hope in bitcoin, since others who were already in crypto a couple of years ago are either immune to this, or they just aren't scared of this kind of market since they already know that bitcoin will be up soon. As most other says those who will stay will be getting a  lot of profit those who left will be coming back again to buy bitcoin.

You shouldn't need to be shocked by the state of the market, in my opinion. What caught your eye?
I'm confident that nothing about the current market condition will surprise you if you have held your asset holdings and experience in the crypto market for a long enough time. because, of course, the length of time you spend in the cryptocurrency market gives you experience.
You can find out what happened by following the news on a few social media platforms. Even though you have sold all of your possessions, you still keep track of the social media accounts you follow.
Whatever your motivation for returning to the cryptocurrency market, perhaps this is the ideal time to resume your investment strategy.

Surely this market will surprise him, if he understands how to invest in the market. Because the price of bitcoin is very low in the market now due to which the price of all tokens has decreased. If he understands investing then he will invest this time and wait until it is right. And from this bear market he will have better experience about trade. So it is better to look for the good aspects of this market instead of looking at the bad aspects only.

Nothing happened, it was just a bitcoin bear cycle, crypto winter, and it happened a lot in the past. Without an economic crisis, without war, the market would still enter the bear season, and bitcoin would drop. Even though you've been out of the market for 2 years, but according to your account created in 2013, that means you also went through 2 previous bear seasons, so I think you won't be surprised, unless this account is not yours.

yes, it should be if the OP is someone who has been in the crypto market for quite a while, he wouldn't be surprised to see a bear situation eating up the market. if the OP might want to restart where he left off, I guess this is a good time. buy again and start to focus on a better long-term. he had already enjoyed its advantages in the past. not impossible, now is the right time to repeat success in the future.

if we buy and hold them now, will we have any profit? I mean, luna,Ftx likely to ever be the same again?
I think never. And even if they want to get back to the previous state, it will take them many years. And if you work well in the market without spending time on them, you can get double the profit. So I think it's kind of stupid to keep buying them.

Hey lot of numerous event has occurred to bitcoin previously even before the occurrence of Luna and FTX and yet bitcoin still gain new ATH, perhaps i don't think what just happened would likely hold down the price not to appreciate again. That is why the whales still getting larger and keeps controlling the market because they always utilizes every single opportunities by buying and holds, have it at back of your mind that nothing can ever stagnate or stationed the price of bitcoin at a particular spot, therefore its subjected to changes at any point in time (Increase or decrease).
I always feel like fiascos like Terra Luna & now FTX only strengthen the dominance of Bitcoin. You see all these altcoins in market and when the top 3rd coin at the time, LUNA, dropped it showed that no altcoin is permanent. And in FTX's case it simply shows you why it's important to control your private keys and not keep funds on exchanges or custodial wallets.

The reason BTC price has dropped significantly is because it' manipulated by a lot of whales and they find it easy to drop when there's a news like FTX collapse. People will not easily sell their coins to panic unless there is a news supporting the panic which is exactly what these fails like LUNA, FTX, etc do.

Although the FTTX thing has nothing to do with Bitcoin, I think the clearest and simplest explanation is that people sometimes the same investors took advantage of this fall in FTX to short Bitcoin and thus get Bitcoin much cheaper by taking advantage of this bug, it's something that cannot be denied, however people have to learn the lesson that FTX has nothing to do with the Bitcoin market, only that the market should be seen as a jungle where you know how to take advantage of what you have with the possible eventualities of life and what is presented, each one will look for a win-win way, regardless of the fundamental that is presented.
