The claim that Twitter was used for political cause by the leftist is debatable. Twitter had a policy and every user must abide by it and violation of these rules attracts deserved sanctions.

Elon Musk is a businessman that is driven by profit and power. These top class CEOs cannot be trusted because they can be influenced by government. There is no guarantee that Twitter under Musk would promote freedom of speech and expression. There is no prove that the current leadership of Twitter would not silence opposition and promote inequality among users. Lets seat back and watch what would happen in the nearest future. I am sure that in few years a certain group would claim that Twitter is silencing them

Well, of course there isn't any guarantee that twitter will always be this way or that. But for the moment, twitter is opening up to freedom.

Could say it simple like this. Before Musk twitter was turning into Democrats/socialism/Communism/anti-American/anti-freedom. After Musk twitter has become Republican/American-freedom/the-American-dream.

In the future, there absolutely will be silencing of the opposition, and inequity among users. But it will be done from the outside... vast numbers of average freedom-loving people out-talking the slave makers... rather than the slave-makers censoring freedom-loving people, as it was before Musk.

Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to suspended accounts, provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam?

Suspended accounts pre-Musk could've been banned for whatever arbitrary reason and the ban appeals process was nonsense. Clear double standard in enforcing Twitter rules which invalidate some number of suspensions. Though, Elon said he wouldn't bring Alex Jones back. I find Alex Jones distasteful, but he never broke any laws.

You guys see the closet full of #staywoke T-shirts that Elon found in the Twitter headquarters?  Elon taking over Twitter was so badly needed.  The way liberals have taken over media to push their ridiculous agendas has been shocking to me.  By at least restoring free speech Elon is allowing regular people to push back against the crazies.  The fact that the people saying to trust the science are the same ones saying you can't determine if a skeleton is male of female because you can't ask them is alarming.  The fact that government is fostering this sort of mental illness shows that they don't care about their citizenry.  They only want to foster mental illness and weaken the next generation so they will be easier to control.  Thank God for Elon.  He's restoring balance to a small piece of media and even that tiny victory is met with outcries.

Every place should have at least some regulations, otherwise it will turn into trash bin. And worst part that he is selective and don't apply same rules for everyone. He unbanned Trump, but as said above, he won't do it for Alex Jones (as much as I don't like him). How it's better than leftists who controlled Twitter.

Even if I don't like the the personality of Elon Musk, I don't think it will stop me from buying a Tesla if I like it, my personal opinion though, you are not wrong to have yours. On the issue of Elon Musk bringing back a bunch of banned accounts, I think it was always expected, the last management where the ones who placed those accounts on ban, there's a new management now under Elon Musk, and it is logical to think that he reviews those accounts under his new terms and conditions.

These are crazy attempts to inflate the number of users, given that these banned accounts are mostly Fake accounts, and most of the time they have abused the platform according to the specified conditions. It is most likely that he wanted to restore the accounts of public figures such as Trump, and in order for the decision not to appear as if it was taken for the sake of Trump’s eyes, it would be in the form of a wave of blocking an entire batch of accounts.

I have an account that was registered years ago, and I do not know the reason until now, but I wish it would come back to me, by the way. lol

The point is this...

Twitter was and is a world-renowned media center.

When they block a sitting US President - Trump - because of their politics, they're probably illegal, but for sure in extremely bad taste.

But the focus isn't only Trump. The focus is the blocking of all kinds of things that were different than their political and propaganda opinion. And there would be nothing wrong with this, if they had not become world-renowned first.

Musk has taken twitter out of the form of the propaganda machine that it was. He has opened it up to free speech, at least a whole lot more. That's the American way in the media.

As far as I know Twitter accounts that band are bot accounts.  And Elon Musk seems to be doing the Twitter KYC system.  A KYC system will be very good because the owner accounts will be fine and the rest of the bot accounts will be suspended.

This is what social media should be, freedom. It should not be like the controlled press and media houses which have continued to act partial and one sided as many of their staffs take sides on issues to the disadvantage of another. As far as I know Twitter accounts that band are bot accounts.  And Elon Musk seems to be doing the Twitter KYC system.  A KYC system will be very good because the owner accounts will be fine and the rest of the bot accounts will be suspended.

Having Twitter verification account would not make the owner of account in Twitter get sincere in whatever thing they are doing so I think Twitter should be operate the way Facebook is operating so that there will not be a controversial things inside the platform requesting for kyc verification in a Twitter it is best known to the owner of Twitter because not everybody at will like to partake in such
