How many smerits per month would get you going? I haven't checked your sent merits and I'm not fit to have an opinion regarding your application. As to whether or not you should be accepted.
However not getting any attention from the only person in charge of merit system could mean a few things.
1- admin doesn't feel the need for a new source especially in a local board.
2- he doesn't wanna hurt your feelings by directly rejecting you( don't know why this man is this much nice and kind ).
3- he doesn't want to make you a source quickly because others might expect the same in the future, so you should wait a bit longer and persist on it.

My personal bet is on 1 and 2. Hope you keep contributing no matter the outcome, a source or not we all can be helpful in our own ways. Good luck.

AFAIK, last merit source update was at July 05, 2021 Before that, it took about a year and a half to two years for the list to be updated, so the problem is not with you, but the merit sources have not been updated for a while.
Most of the merit sources who were selected from the year 2021 are still active, and there are no complaints about the difficulty of obtaining merits, so I do not think that anything will happen, at least until next July.

If any update is made, I think you will be a worthy source with about 50 to 300 sMerit per month.

I'm sorry you have to wait so long for the administrator's decision on your request to become a source of merit, but this is actually normal and expected, based on previous experiences.
Theymos never responds quickly to such requests, but I assume that he studies each such request and compiles a list of requests that he will approve when the right moment comes.
When, based on the analysis of the shared merits on the forum and the number of active merit sources, and the activities on the forum itself, he concludes that there is an imbalance in the number of posts and the number of shared merits, then I assume that he will review all previous requests and make a decision on who to promote to merit sources.
So don't worry, it's not about anything personal and I'm sure you'll soon have your turn and deservedly become a new merit source

True, last time theymos introduced new merit sources and adjusted smerit allocation to the existing ones, monthly number of merit shared was considerably lower than it was few years ago so it made sense for him to make that adjustment. On the other hand, current situation in that regard is very good and monthly amount of merit shared barely dropped since the latest merit adjustment so its not likely that theymos changes anything soon.

Then again, situation in German board is not the best and its obvious that amount of merit shared in their board is on the decline, with last month worst in the last few years, and one of the worst ever so they could indeed use another merit source. The only problem is that theymos usually approved new merit sources in bulk.

I support OP to be chosen as one of the new source. But nevertheless Germany is not too bad in terms of earning merit if compared other local board.

However, theymos never rushes his decisions and usually waits for the moment when he needs to make changes to more local sections of this forum and approve more merit sources.
I always support merit sources for local boards because many local members do not write in the English part of the forum and the visibility of their quality posts on the forum, as well as the possibility of getting merits for such posts, is quite limited.
Given the great support from the forum community, I believe it's only a matter of time before bullrun2020bro becomes the new merit source.

There are many local boards that need a new or need a merit source because they don't have one. And  hoping when theymos will accept some of the applicants that became a merit source, bullrun2020bro have a chance or let say he will became one of those choosen members that will upgrade to a merit source in global or in their respective local boards.
 But for now all we can do is to wait for the decisions of our administrator theymos who have the authority to choose  if who are the Worthy user to became a merit source .

I'm not sure "theymos" it accepts or not, But I think if "theymos" thinks a little more randomly, So that "theymos" might prioritize you and you'll definitely have to wait a bit longer for that. Good luck.

Maybe you can as well advise some of your locale members to make Applications to he merit giveaway threads or apply for a post review as the case may be so that they can get merits especially those that were due for ranking up but lacking merit while you're still awaiting to get more merits to give out in your own capacity, also concerning your merit source application, i wish you the best of luck and hope Theymos considers the number of applications already on ground sooner.

According to a saying, when one joins another person to celebrate, he will also be celebrated, therefore I join others to support you to be a full time Merit Source in your local board to help the needy. My mind is also on the pipeline at my corner. I know that it will be granted unto you when the appropriate time comes. Just be patient for the boss to sort out somethings. You also remember that there is stress to be Merit Source. Just like my friend is always on the Review pages to merit post. All is determination. I wish you all the best. Sooner the newest merit source in the Germany Board and the forum at large.

Op you've done a good work here in our community and also in your local board you have my full support. I know you are the one who contributed well in your local and also you have the characteristics of a merit source you always check your local in order to help your fellow countrymen to receive enough merits. And I know once you became a merit source you will be one of the best generous giver here in our community.

I think it will help you in some way and will probably also benefit the poster your quote. Admin may not have added new merit source, that includes your application has not been approved. So temporarily and regularly, the ideas above might be able to help you get some of the merit as well as benefit the post you want to get.

I think if he really wants some posts to get merits and is out of smerits then best way is to report them here for merit source evaluation and they can get lot of attention and more merits also just a suggestion as specific thread remains active.

But when @theymos will find it suitable to add more merit source he will take the step until then we have to wait but hope you get that.

I know that would be very helpful, but I think some merit source at there seem to have high priority for HQ quality posts, so I can still see some review requests not getting much attention. But of course, I don't things that's a big deal considering the quality of posts is very subjective from one user to another.

I agree some advice could be considered, but since the OP is still expecting his application to be accepted then surely he needs to update this thread with some quality post regulary.

+1, I have about 200 sMerits, and I think that more will be renewed, so quoting some posts will be useful for everyone.

Of course, it's verry useful to anyone looking to review it regardless of whether they're merit source or just a casual user like me. I hope @bullrun2020bro will probably update it and will consider that advice well.

200 sMerits? It seems worth spending before theymos recharge your sources. But I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding ways to spend it. So for @bullrun2020bro, it's time.
