Is it possible to delete your own thread (the topic I started).

Not sure what's the rules on this forum.

No, you can't delete your own thread or any posts made in it (unless its self-moderated). Instead, you may move it to Archival. In few cases, mods only delete your topics if you are spamming too much with a lot of new topics which could also lead to a temporary/perma-ban on your account.
