My first sponsored Bitcoin seminar

Bitcointalk had been an eye opening for me even though I don't come here that frequent. I had read through many post here and learnt new things about Bitcoin and how the system works which had ameliorate my interest to educate people around me about what Bitcoin  entails. I had been thinking of how to present Bitcoin and it technology to people around me in a different comprehendible manner but I was still not convinced until I took the courage to bring it to them in a simple way using PowerPoint.

Since I have some of my friends and people who will love to learn new things especially about monetary technology, then I told the boldness to prepare a PowerPoint presentation from random sources online to explain to them on what Bitcoin really entails. I was able to explain in details on what Bitcoin is and how it could affect us positively if we pick interest in it.


WHAT INSPIRED ME
I see it as a burden to me when people keep investing and holding fiat even when inflation keep rising without having a better alternative to invest their funds. Fiat keeps losing value with more threts to employees. We all know that Bitcoin is very volatile and this had been keeping the price to fluctuating creating the overbought and oversold gap. I see a great fortune investing in Bitcoin which was one of the reasons that complelled me to keep advocating about Bitcoin so that people could see the light.

MY OBJECTIVES

BTC To promote Bitcoin awareness.
BTC To educate people on what Bitcoin really entails.
BTC To increase the adoption of Bitcoin.


 
 
 
 
 


POSITIVE RESULT

BTC I saw the curiosity of my audiences to learn more about Bitcoin.
BTC I was able to impact a lifetime opportunity.
BTC I was able to disclose some materials that would help them learn more about Bitcoin and how it works.
BTC The turnout was massive.

CONCLUSION
I will like to appreciate everyone who had been posting quality posts that had affected my thinking faculty to this day.  It took me some days to come up with ideas on how I was going to bring the presentation to success, and I have very glad about the turnout and the interest of my audiences which in every way inspired me to continue advocating about Bitcoin BTC

Congratulation on a successful Bitcoin seminar.  What do you mean by sponsored Bitcoin seminar?  Are you saying you got paid doing this seminar?  I hope this isn't some company orientation where people are required to attend before investing into some Ponzi scheme.  Sorry to be a bit negative but I have heard of lots of fraud company sponsoring cryptocurrency seminars so that people will think that they have legit business involving with cryptocurrency.  After Bitcoin and cryptocurrency discussion, where they emphasize on the growth of Bitcoin and several people who got rich because of Bitcoin.  And when people got amazed and emotional on how people who engage in Bitcoin get rich, they will then present their marketing plan enticing people to join their scheme.

Anyway, I hope your kind of session isn't like that one.

According to the scope of his lecture. He focus on the definition and use case of Bitcoin and not on the price. This is a good introduction when teaching a zero knowledge listener on the subject.

I’m curious on the content of the materials that given to the attendees. I hope it really focus focus on the technology and utility rather than the price talks which usually the common intention of the participants.

This is a selfless act that is worthy of emulation. From what I have seen it might be possible that you rented the space for the seminar and brought it all necessary technological tools that is needed to make this seminar a reality. I am always happy when I see persons that are eager to publicize and attract people to the bitcoin ecosystem by creating awareness about this priceless currency.

Most of them might not understand the concept of bitcoin at that first meeting, that is why I am suggesting that you create a platform where the participants can still contact you and ask questions. This platform would serve as a medium for exchange of ideas and information. Bitcoin should never be forced onto people. That's what the government is for - to force you to adapt to what suits them or what they call a greater cause. People are supposed to make the switch voluntarily and naturally after learning the difference between bitcoin and traditional finance. All we can do is to educate and share information about the advantages of this alternative financial system. Why do you think he will force or entice people to buy bitcoin? This is a bitcoin seminar, that means he is trying to teach people about bitcoin, not a workshop on a Ponzi project to lure people into investing in a scam project for profit. In the end, even if people did buy bitcoin, he would not benefit from it, so there is no reason for him to make them buy it.

OP you did a good work. The task is not that easy as they think. Setting up this seminar alone shows your passion for promoting Bitcoin to the world. This little work you have done would definitely yield results positively. Looking at the background,  I saw curious gestures from participants in the seminar. I believe they have been fully imparted with the knowledge of Bitcoin. If I may ask did you put them through the setting up of their various wallets and another these people you gather what's categories of Field do they belong to. When I mean field, I mean their works, businesses etc and how can they be able to comprehend the trends of Bitcoin if incorporated into their various businesses as I see the  the seminar is not a just normal or random type.

This right here is my caution to advisors of bitcoin. It is a great thing that some people took it upon them selves to spread it adoption. But the information handed out during the awareness sections by some need to be questioned. My first introducer to the bitcoin world only spread its profit part something like me gaining in every raise of it. And this has seriously drive people to put in there entire savings to maximise profits.

Things like store of value and its ability to hedge a little against inflation than fiat are the first lesson. Its risk lesson could be thought after the learner gets more knowledge why he needs to move away from fiat then subsequently security and other protective guides. Nonetheless kudos to the advocators

Cool, you did a good job by presenting this seminar. Many of them thinking it’s not needed but I believe it’s indeed needed in the region where bitcoin outreach is not that strong and peeps really need to hear about it from someone trusted. For this, definitely we need local hero’s like you who can keep spreading the good lessons about it.

Exactly wallets and wallet security should be a major part of any Bitcoin education, since a lot of things have happened before e.g the FTX hack and other hacks were coin holders lost a lot of money through it, and the only set of people who are not effected where lucky to have stored the bitcoin in a cold storage.

The fact is having your own wallet with its private keys in your control should be the first primary thing, and I have ops who will update his teaching on the best bitcoin wallet and what is the purpose of the exchange, and how the exchange has imparted Bitcoin adoption and usage.

I guess the people who have negative thoughts about this "sponsored" seminar had experienced being trapped in a Bitcoin Seminar and at the end of the seminar is recruited by a Ponzi scheme company.  Fraud companies also sponsor Bitcoin seminars since they choose it as their "main product",  have to explain Bitcoin from the get-go and after that, the audience are encouraged to join the company's business system.  

The sponsored term rings a bell though.  Maybe there is possibly a company behind the seminar.  I believe @OP is just invited to conduct a seminar but the audience is catered by other people.  I may be wrong but that's what hit my mind when I read the Sponsored Bitcoin Seminar.

I was also invited to conduct a sponsored Bitcoin Seminar but I rejected it because the one that asked me is obviously running a Ponzi scheme company.  Spreading awareness about Bitcoin is great but using it for greedy purposes isn't.

a work well done I know the majority in my country that request money to have access to information about cryptocurrencies, especially trading, and the worst part is that they only give you the basics of that information, so for you to organize a seminar it shows how the youths will definitely benefit from it. I hope there would be a video available for this one ( although there are many informative videos online about the same topic), an actual seminar wherein there are participants would create a more impact. Also, this would be good for those who aspire engaging to this technology. Prevention is better than cure. If they would know what they are trying to explore, especially the risks involved, scam casualties, huge loss, and other negative impressions about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, would be surely lessen. There is also the good side of such seminars, it is called awareness. Just because you are aware of btc and its benefits doesn't mean others are. I think the important part is impacting the right knowledge about btc to those who are interested, the investment aspect is by choice, if you havr no knowledge about it, you won't even consider to invest or know how yo go about it.

Great job on the work done @OP, it is quite hard to speak in front of many people explaining Bitcoin.  It is a good thing to know that your listener got more interested in venturing the Bitcoin economy.  I bet you are a good speaker and you are able to keep the interest of people and add more flame to it.  The picture shows that listeners are ready to do hands-on practice on installing wallets and other stuff.  Did you manage to discuss how to create a wallet and the different kinds of it?  As a Bitcoin learner, I think that is one of the first fundamentals they need to know.  You can skip prices and economic achievement of Bitcoin but you shouldn't skip tutoring them on how to install a Bitcoin wallet safely and the process of sending and receiving Bitcoin.

Next time,you should also let them know about how to keep their coin safe by introducing them to different type of walkets and the best to use,with this they can guarantee safety if they want to invest. OP thanks for reaching out to people especially starting your seminar with friends who are eager to learn what bitcoin is about. It requires lots of preparation to get such seminar in place. Many learned bitcoin users don't do such because of one thing, they're not sure people will attend. But, you took the courage regardless of whether it'll be attended by the people you invited and launched the seminar. Such an interesting event as seen on the photo should be continued, your audience are relaxed and focused to learn more. So, I would advise that the seminar be continued from time to time. Take it as your own journey in the bitcoin community and one day the number of attendees will surpass what you expected. Don't stop at your first attempt!

It does make sense when they're thinking about that but while I've read the whole thread OP did, I guess that he's doing it without the intervention of any fraud company to push him to it.

More people keeps trying and doing the best to support the spread about bitcoin. In specific most of them are good in giving better awareness about the market and how to have things secure not fall to scammers. I have a neighbor that willing to learn crypto, especially Bitcoin and I saw her interest to know more and explore what Bitcoin is.  On the other hand, it's the opposite of my cousin who doesn't like to know about crypto because of the scams that he heard about.  This tory the same as the OP shared which we didn't force anyone who didn't like to learn.

For the past months, I have seen how individuals are very much willing to go the extra mile in spreading Bitcoin awareness. It feels great to know that there is this strong initiative among certain individuals. I can still remember there is also this individual initiative somewhere in Africa where he asked permission from a church to make use of the time and the place after its services for sharing Bitcoin with the attendees. There was also this individual initiative coming from a country in Asia where he even made use of his house for Bitcoin learning sessions.

This is good. Perhaps this is even better if along with this is also the adoption of small shops and stores, whether online or not, in accepting Bitcoin payment. It would be perfect. People learn of this new currency while knowing that there are actual stores and shops that accept it as such.

yes, that may be true. speakers need to share their experiences with Bitcoin investment. including explaining how the risk is acceptable.

at least, some knowledge has been shared. they know Bitcoin and the development of Blockchain technology. it has been spread on social media and we can get it. but justification by experts is of course important. so that there is no distortion of information.

don't just invite people to buy Bitcoin. but teach them the risks as well. it will leave them to make their own choice to decide whether or not they want to enter.
those who attend the seminar, I think are those who have an interest in Bitcoin.

Keep it coming! Guys like you are an inspiration and setting a great example to others about teaching Bitcoin. It is also great that you are being sponsored for these events.

I do however not teaching Bitcoin only, but also generally about crypto. Been doing that since 2018 with barely have sponsors. Mostly coming out of my own pocket. The venue, transportation whether air, land or sea, food, hotel, etc.

But did I complain? Did I regret my experience even if there are only few ones attending after all that I have spent both time and money? Nope.

Coz’ I am just being passionate that’s all. Starting next month I will resume again to educate in universities about Bitcoin, etc. Although there are a few community partners, but not when it comes to sponsorships so I do not really mind about it.

I keep going without expecting anything in return. It’s just that once I am passionate, it can’t be stopped despite the challenges.

I think you should post a new thread and give us an outline of what you discussed. That way we can brainstorm together to improve the educational information that you provide to your audience. Not all the information posted here are correct, because this forum is full of Alt coin competitors and FUD armies that wants to spread misinformation.

If this is posted in a thread that are just focused on educational material, people here can battle it out to verify the validity of the information that are put out there.

Or better yet, share the presentation or its content here, so that anyone who is interested can take a look at it and suggest corrections or alternative ways to explain things. Teaching people about Bitcoin is great, but teaching them badly or giving them incomplete information can create the wrong assumptions in their minds. Original Poster, a lot of users are already making emphasis on what Bitcoin materials was passed across, it will nice to share if you see this.

I hope you threw more light in the aspect of the usage of Bitcoin and the importance and what benefits it give's them that banks don't.

I appreciate you for the little you have done, but do well to share as there is nothing wrong with that you stand a good chance to be guided and given proper corrections on whatever you have haven't done well. He probably ellaborated that phrase on the seminar itself to avoid confusion. I had the same question on my mind. Well, I think OP made sure that his informations are correct. And that is why I've mentioned that a copy of the seminar would be a great thing to have; to correct misconceptions if there are any.

Trust me, it looks similar to a seminar that was held in my city. Pretend to explain about bitcoin and blockchain at first, then they tell you to invest. The room and presentation style are even more impressive in my town.

There is also the good side of such seminars, it is called awareness. Just because you are aware of btc and its benefits doesn't mean others are. I think the important part is impacting the right knowledge about btc to those who are interested, the investment aspect is by choice, if you havr no knowledge about it, you won't even consider to invest or know how yo go about it.

When I heard about Bitcoin for the first time, I didn't believe people who said it. After I tried to attend the Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency seminar, I decided that I would not believe the speaker. After I found various information about Bitcoin on the internet, I decided not to trust everyone I didn't know (in the real world) talking about bitcoin. You know what I'm sayin?

yes, that may be true. speakers need to share their experiences with Bitcoin investment. including explaining how the risk is acceptable.
at least, some knowledge has been shared. they know Bitcoin and the development of Blockchain technology. it has been spread on social media and we can get it. but justification by experts is of course important. so that there is no distortion of information.
don't just invite people to buy Bitcoin. but teach them the risks as well. it will leave them to make their own choice to decide whether or not they want to enter.
those who attend the seminar, I think are those who have an interest in Bitcoin.

Usually, they are experts in business skills, and they are coming to get big referrals for big commissions, not to teach you about what Bitcoin really is. I've experienced it once, so I never liked it.

This is really a nice initiative. I hope this is free? and also I see a lot of people, I hope that they go in that seminar in their own will because if not we know that they will still not be continuing to learn bitcoin. Anyways thanks for doing this, and congratulations on that seminar I am sure it is a huge success, I hope that this will still continue or you'll be conducting part 2 on this as it would really spread awareness to those people who really want to get into bitcoin or they are just putting their money into banks.

Yes, it was free because I personally decided to take up whatsoever it's going to cost me. I know this is a big opportunity for everyone that participated to enlightened them of what Bitcoin is all about and how it can help us to escape the vulnerabilities of holding and investing in local fiat currencies. The turnout was massive and many of them had to congratulate me for bringing Bitcoin to them in a simple and very comprehensive style. That was why I decided to make us of projector with so many materias they can read which I got from this forum.

I hope that this will still continue or you'll be conducting part 2 on this as it would really spread awareness to those people who really want to get into bitcoin or they are just putting their money into banks.

I have plans of conducting another seminar which will be an advance part of what I discussed about and where they can always ask questions to further their learning.

Might I ask, where they informed on the use of cold wallets? Because this would eliminate any fear of their coins being stolen once it has been purchased.

Although I couldn't emphasized on that as I was supposed due to many reasons but I talked about wallet and what is required to have a wallet and other things. We have seen so many complains about hacked wallet due to different vulnerabilities both from the recipients and the core project team. One of the things that guaranteed out safety is having a suitable wallet like the cold wallet, that will be more difficult for hackers to penetrate. Wow I'm delighted to have a great support senior forum members always ready to help me out. Initially I thought of asking questions here on how to go about the seminar and the materials I could have used but I knew it will bring a lot of bone of contention that could discourage me from achieving this. If I had drop a post here for everyone perspectives, the ideas from ramdom bad posters could halt my interest but not withstanding I will give that a try in my next endeavours.

I did the research myself both with many random educational posts I encantered here and outside here to make it up. I also never bothered to disturbed anyone's dm for materials because I don't want to get tagged for unsolicited dm. Doing this alone took a lot of my time but still look strong with the help of your posts.

I've seen those bad presentations that they think they should share it without thinking it first of how vast the knowledge they've got. I think it's all about being excited for those people that I've seen and they have the thought to share it to the others.

It is now up to those whom you have instilled knowledge in to take the appropriate action when they are fully prepared to enter the bitcoin world. Joining bitcoin requires a great deal of courage, patience, and understanding in order to flow with the market's volatility. They should take their time, join when they are ready, and conduct additional research to increase their understanding of it.

We don't know on what aspect he did the seminar, but it shows the active involvement of our forum users into spreading the word of bitcoin. For what reason the participants joined the seminar, we don't know. Somehow through the seminar they would've got some awareness and the need of bitcoin. I see it as a burden to me when people keep investing and holding fiat even when inflation keep rising without having a better alternative to invest their funds. Fiat keeps losing value with more threts to employees. We all know that Bitcoin is very volatile and this had been keeping the price to fluctuating creating the overbought and oversold gap. I see a great fortune investing in Bitcoin which was one of the reasons that complelled me to keep advocating about Bitcoin so that people could see the light.

Yes, it’s the notion that you could get rich overnight that mostly attracts people to the cryptocurrency space and sadly, some folks with nefarious and criminal intent are just waiting to eat all those ignorant and mostly greedy folks up. Get paid and pay with bitcoin sounds more better and is a more better approach to teaching newbies about bitcoin.
It’s not possible to get rich overnight with bitcoin and I dislike the fact that some folks see bitcoin as a get rich scheme and not as an alternative and somewhat better means of payment.

Bringing people together is not an easy task especially passing information from one person to another about your thought. This was something I had been planning for more than three weeks to make sure that all necessary things is out in place for positive. I worked hard for this and I was much happy that it turned out successful.

Currently I had been receiving invitations from few persons to help them through there journey of getting full acquainted to the Bitcoin world. This is my passion to get the news across large number of audiences around my region. This is just my first attempt, looking like I was not good enough based on random views from here and I'm still strong to make it more bigger and better.
