I had similar suggestions on Meta but that was totally ignored. I think I can get more attention here.

The current name "Development & Technical Discussion" is misleading. It can't reflect the purpose "Technical discussion about Satoshi's Bitcoin client and the Bitcoin network in general. No third-party sites/clients, bug reports that do not require much discussion (use github), or support requests." The current name attracts all those project and alt-coin development discussion and technical support requests.

Perhaps better to suggest just having an "Alternate cryptocurrencies" > "Development & Technical Discussion" subforum?
However, Bitcoin 'generic' "Development & Technical Discussion" does make a lot of sense, despite those who see others as impure.
"Bitcoin Protocol and Reference Client" is a rather limiting.

I don't care alt coin, just don't want them to contaminate this section

Please also note the description of this section: "Technical discussion about Satoshi's Bitcoin client and the Bitcoin network in general. No third-party sites/clients, bug reports that do not require much discussion (use github), or support requests." It's basically "Bitcoin Protocol and Reference Client".

That's the kind of stupidity that fuels all conflict in the world. If you can't see other people's perspective, then you are the problem. The world isn't here to satisfy only what you want. As above, a sub forum that does cater for that other clutter, might help that 'problem'.

Please ask the mods whether those project development topics and technical support requests should exist here

This is a _bitcoin_ subforum, it's not a subform for altcoin stuff.  This is already the established practice, and I think it's already unambiguous.

+1.  Dev would be a highly relevant topic for the altcoin forum; it would be very nice to have it separated.

+1 from me too for altcoin dev forum.

Although I'm not holding my breath for that.

Thanks to @roslinpl who demonstrates how misleading the forum name is.

come on this is development discussion

You think so?
For me this is Technical Discussion and as I know this sub channel is called " Development & Technical Discussion "
so this thread IMO is placed just right.

And what about my answer @ "Best way to keep my Bitcoins safe?"

offline wallets - but I must say I don't know which "offline wallets" service is the best.
Maybe some more experienced members will tell us some more.

My question to more experienced members: is this good way to make offline wallet?
