the Brazilian squad when they select and bring in players like Neymar they cut out as many strong players and don't realize that they are doing an injustice to the Brazilian national team and to all Brazilians, i think that Ancelotti was forced to call him up, and i don't think he would have been happy!

I don't even know why Carlo Ancelotti decided to call Neymar Jr as part of the squad that will feature in the world cup. Players should be selected based on their level of performance and not out of emotions. I just see it that Ancelotti called Neymar out of emotions considering how desperate the player is to play at the world cup. We all saw the emotions in Neymar because he didn't expect that he will be part of the team. Brazil deserves active players who are still full of life and energy so that they can show their talents and work together to see the team advance pass the group stages. Brazil used to be a team that pulls influence at the world cup but over the current years that they appeared at the world cup; they have been poor in their performance, so opportunities like this is not something to joke with. I'm in the same line of thought with you because after they lost in the last World Cup to Argentina, where they played to the last game, and they would easily know how to navigate through the knockout stage and to the final stage.

Yes, having the best squad isn't the only criterion, but also it's about surviving the 7 games for the 1 month, and France has many players who don't suffer many injuries, so they can equally rotate their players Mbappe, Thurman, Dembele, and the rest.

At the very least this decision could be a good step towards strengthening the Brazilian squad for this World Cup, even though there were some names that Ancelotti didn't call up based on his assessment. I'm quite happy with this decision because these players are great talents and their inclusion in the squad will add to the team's attacking power. Some other great players weren't called up, but that decision was probably based on his assessment, so Ancelotti had to make that decision and we hope Neymar can maintain his physical fitness and not get injured.

Well, alarms went off in Brazil because there was an injury, and he'll miss a Santos match. Neymar is not in a good form anymore since he started going to injury but I think he can make the country proud now since is in good fit and is very happy to play for Brazil for many long term and I still get believe on Neymar because is very good and he can do is best and help the country but I no that they have many players in Brazil that are much form then Neymar but Ancelotti is trying to give him another chance in the country and see how he will perform in the Brazil team. Neymar is definitely has blood in his eyes to win this World Cup, imagine the pressure on this guy? Practically a whole generation of stars helped brazil win the World Cup, except him (so far), This includes Kaká, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Fenômeno, Romário, Rivaldo... there are so many names.

I'm not so sure that brazil is in a position to compete in the World Cup against giants like France, Argentina and other European teams, but I hope Neymar scores some interesting goals and emerges as a standout player in this Cup.

For now it is actually not too much when bringing Maguire even though sometimes his performance at club level is not too clear what kind of defense direction especially at Manchester United but sometimes when we see his performance in the national team actually it is still quite good on several occasions.

But indeed the initial benchmark for selection in the national team certainly all boils down to performance at the club and I agree if there is an argument that Maguire is not that good so Tuchel certainly does not want to play around with the squad he will bring because in this case performance at the club can be one of the references no matter how expensive their prices are but when the performance at the club is not too good then there is no more reason for some players like Maguire, Shaw or even Trent not to be brought to the world cup this time.

Even you and me don't like France to win World Cup this year, it's only our personal emotional thinking as France actually have a best player resource in World Cup 2026. They have also gone too far in latest World Cup and Euro tournaments so their national team actually are one of best candidates for the title this summer.

Between Portugal and Netherlands, I'd like to see Netherlands winning their first World Cup as in history, they are the only national team that have yet won any World Cup title after playing three final matches, that's crazy. However in this World Cup 2026, Netherlands don't have too good squad that is even weaker than Portugal squad. Without emotional bias, I think Portugal national team have better chance to win this title than Netherlands national team and it can be a last big achievement for Cristiano Ronaldo in his player career.

That's just it. Despite the love show from fans, and his feelings to be in the world cup squad, I still believe there is more to the call up. I think before he is called, then there must be something the coach feels or sees about him that made him include him in the squard.

I still believe Neymar will still have some influence in the pitch of play. Even though he may not show enough like during his prime, there may be well a good impact from him for his country. It is a world cup, one of the biggest show for all players and dream, and thus, I believe Neymar will put up his best performance if he is fit to feature in any game
