For now it is actually not too much when bringing Maguire even though sometimes his performance at club level is not too clear what kind of defense direction especially at Manchester United but sometimes when we see his performance in the national team actually it is still quite good on several occasions.

But indeed the initial benchmark for selection in the national team certainly all boils down to performance at the club and I agree if there is an argument that Maguire is not that good so Tuchel certainly does not want to play around with the squad he will bring because in this case performance at the club can be one of the references no matter how expensive their prices are but when the performance at the club is not too good then there is no more reason for some players like Maguire, Shaw or even Trent not to be brought to the world cup this time.

Excusing years of mistakes is a mistake in my opinion and it is not reasonable, if there is no improvement in his performance it will be a problem for the team in the future, unless he has made improvements in terms of performance on the field that can be considered, imagine you invite a player who always makes mistakes, the probability of making mistakes on the field is more likely than a player who can really be relied on.

I don't even know why Carlo Ancelotti decided to call Neymar Jr as part of the squad that will feature in the world cup. Players should be selected based on their level of performance and not out of emotions. I just see it that Ancelotti called Neymar out of emotions considering how desperate the player is to play at the world cup. We all saw the emotions in Neymar because he didn't expect that he will be part of the team. Brazil deserves active players who are still full of life and energy so that they can show their talents and work together to see the team advance pass the group stages. Brazil used to be a team that pulls influence at the world cup but over the current years that they appeared at the world cup; they have been poor in their performance, so opportunities like this is not something to joke with. It says that the probability can be anywhere between 1% to 2%. BTW, I am surprised to find out that Brazil is being given good odds by most of the sportsbooks. France has the best squad for sure, but the world cup doesn't really with having the best squad. It requires a lot of hard work and teamwork for a team to win the world cup.

Argentina also has a fair squad and considering their performance in recent times, one can say that they are good for the world cup and also an opportunity for Lionel Messi to add another world cup to the one he also has but we might see something totally different in the world cup tournament.

Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved a lot in his football career, and he recently won the Saudi League with his club Al Nassr, i think the only important trophy that he needs now is the world cup, if he can achieve it with Portugal it will really be a fulfilling football career for the Portuguese professional player.

Many have criticized the inclusion of Neymar rather than Joao Pedro or Anthony, but I'm sure Ancelotti has plans for Neymar. Neymar is a kind of player that shouldn’t and couldn’t be underestimated because of how great a player he is and he was. It’s true that he’s gotten older and doesn’t have the physicality factor now that a younger player has but he has something greater and that is experience. I would always back a more experienced player than any other one because experience is a very important thing. These other players might be physically capable and more active but that’s not always what a team needs, sometimes it needs some experience.

Tuchel dropping out Maguire for the World cup doesn't mean Maguire is not in form, he has Guehi who we have seen on different occasion going forward to join the attack at Man city, even Maguire does the same in Manchester United. So, Tuchel needs a CB that is strong at the back, I think that's why he picked Dan Burn over Maguire. Dan Burn has played incredibly for the past 2 seasons now in Newcastle and he is more of a versatile CB, he is also good at winning aerial duel. Both Maguire and Burn has been fantastic this season, but Burn fits for Tuchel play style while also considering the age factor.

I have seen England’s World Cup squad and I was very surprised that players of the calibre of Cole Palmer, Luke Shaw and Phil Foden were left out. Whilst I expected Trent Alexander Arnold to be left out because he’s been playing really badly for real Madrid, the others had seemed to be in good form; I would even have considered Mason Greenwood as well, as he’s been playing very well.
