I have been thinking about Tuchel and his World cup team. He produced a team that shocked many people and I don't know how he had such a gut to make the selection. I just wish he is successful because English fans can do crazy things that he will not imagine.

I think Tuchel made two notable mistakes in his selection;
1. Droping Maguire who had a very good season and also a threat on aerial contests is not the best choice for him.

2. Dropping Palmer/Foden totally and going with Madueke is not so good. No matter how poor Palmer is, he has a name to protect and good be a good substitute when England is failing.

I just wish Tuchel the best, but me as a coach must find a way to squeeze in Arnord Alexander.

The selection is not really that bad, he just ignored a few players that would have really been of help and selected some that wasn't even deserving. The like of Arnold, Palmer, Shaw and Foden should have been selected but he's the coach so he knows who he likes better.

Maguire also deserves the call up and replacing him with John Stones is something I can't understand. His selection wasn't only based on performance else some wouldn't have made the list.
I think we shouldn't pray for a bad result because of the selections, let's just wish them well and see how far they can go.

Maybe Harry Maguire should have made the list ahead of John Stones but what do I know?! Personally I don't fvck with Harry Maguire but I'm confident he was better than Harry Maguire this season.

According to Jamie Carragher, Foden had his chances but he didn't use it well to seal himself a place in the national team,  as for Cole Palmer, we all know he dropped form and failed to even score a penalty when it was important.

Arnold is not his typical kind of defenders, there's no way he makes it ahead of Recce James.

Maguire is the only person he dropped that I feel should have gotten a chance. Maguire really improved this season. His performance was very good and he showed some leadership qualities. The likes of Palmer and Trent, I understand. They have been underwhelming this season, especially Palmer. He has really struggled to make an impact. Even when he has played, he has not shown that he could do anything with the ball. Foden too has not impressed, so I understand why he was not called.

Calling Madueke was not a very good call, either, but only time would tell. Madueke is not a good player. He doesn't have a good football IQ and has very poor decision making. Tuchel will be under a lot of pressure because the English fans are not forgiving. They got to two Euro finals with Southgate, so they would demand more than that from his successor. Even though I consider England among the favourites, I don't see them as a team that can win the World Cup. They have good players, but a lot of those players are inconsistent.

Another day, another change. UEFA is planning to use Champion League style for its next WC qualifier. So we will see WC qualifier to adopt the swiss format system. So the big teams won't get advantage, and i think this sounds good.

So it's likely we're gonna see more even with better qualifty fixtures in this new format. I also think it will be much more fair.

However, i hope UEFA will change the nation league. It makes no sense when a team with 0 wins like swedent went to the WC. Nevertheless, even if UEFA changes their system so many times. I'm still doubting Italy can qualify to the WC again.

UEFA doesn't know that if they use this style of the Champion League for the next World Cup qualifiers, it won't change that much, if they do it to favor the big world teams like Italy i don't think it will be wise, as an Italian i don't think this is an advantage, but if you're satisfied with seeing mediocre matches go ahead.

I don't see Portugal as winner honestly unless their route was filled with easy teams honestly.
I am aware that their group contains mild teams like DR Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia. They will most likely pass to the next round along with Colombia while collecting all points unless they got a draw in one of the games. Otherwise reaching semi-finals would be great. I am routing for Argentina then France. Maybe another European team could impress like Spain, less likely England and Germany.

I wonder if it ever happened before. I am pretty sure this is the very first time in history that Spain didn't call up a single player from Real Madrid for the World Cup. Let's not forget that we are talking about Real Madrid, the biggest club in the world and, of course, the club of the Spanish capital. This is one of the worst seasons ever for them, there is not a single good news.

It's truly sad that there are no Real Madrid players in Spain squad for this World Cup. This shows how Madrid direction has changed in recent years. Currently, there are no key Spanish players in Madrid and even if there are foreign players they are often on the bench. While Madrid used to be filled with Spanish national team players now the majority of their key figures are from various other countries.

This is very different from Barcelona, ​​where the starting lineup contains 10 Spanish players. Meanwhile, Real Madrid squad only has one Spanish player in the starting lineup, Dani Carvajal. I’m not surprised because I already suspected that Trent Alexander-Arnold wouldn’t be called up to the England national team by Tuchel, even though he’s actually far more deserving of a chance to play for England. I suspected this because in several friendly matches and the like, I didn’t see Trent Alexander-Arnold’s name. To be honest, I think Tuchel is too fixated on the tactics he’s devised without considering how important a highly experienced star player is. Because star players can also be the focus of attention due to their abilities, which are recognized by everyone. As for Palmer, he does have some injury issues. Well, that decision is somewhat understandable. Although I’d prefer he still be given a chance. Because we’ve already seen how Palmer sometimes brings good luck to the English national team. Portugal is not part of my top list of countries to win the World Cup in this edition. Spain, France,  Brazil, and England are my favourites to win the competition. Don't get me wrong Portugal has sound players but these countries I have mentioned have a better squad. Roberto Martínez is a good coach but managers like Carlo Ancelotti,  Thomas Tuchel, and Didier Deschamps are better in my view. I don't think Ronaldo couid play much influence on the squad on the pitch. His experience, leadership skills, and mentorship would be more useful.

I don't think this prediction is going to come true. I'm not ready to believe this prediction yet, it's just a guess, nothing more. But I would definitely be happy if this happens in reality. Messi and Ronaldo are two of the best players in recent history, we've seen Messi win the World Cup, now seeing Ronaldo win it fulfills my expectations as a football fan. Although I'm not a Portugal fan, Ronaldo needs this title to make his football career more successful. In terms of facts, I see Portugal's chances of winning the World Cup very small.

Yes, I completely agree with you. To win a match or a trophy, a team doesn't need just one or three players to play well; every player has to play their best and fight for the team. Portugal's defense seems quite weak to me, and it is very important to strengthen it in important matches, both in defense and in midfield. France can win this World Cup, because we have to accept reality. France is one of the strongest teams in this tournament. Although it is impossible to predict the result based on luck alone, let's see what happens.

Portugal to win the world cup is going to go demand a lot of effort from the players. They have a good squad, but we have teams like Brazil and France with a better squad and far more technical players. In as much as they have one of the greatest football player to ever live, I still don't think they're the favourites. Imo, France top my list of the favourites to win, followed by Brazil and Spain, then Portugal coming 4th, while Argentina and Germany coming 5th and 6th respectively.

And mind you, when we compare all players that were called up, the countries that topped my list, have more in form set of players. Ooh, and I forgot to mention England, well, maybe they can just go on to surprise me.

This behaviour is deep down in their culture. They have this superiority mentality which makes them feel that they are the best in everything. You would see the real quality of an English player when he leaves the EPL to play for another top league. Only a few of them have been able to prove themselves. Tuchel is the coach and any decision that he takes will stand but , the truth is that taking players like madueke in place of Palmer no matter how he has drop in form is not a too good thing. Madueke is one player that I don't fancy much because he is not calculated when playing. He only runs and uses his big body to force his opponent left in a one on one position with defenders he is one player that loses possession easily to defenders. Palmer should have been picked ahead of madueke no matter what happen this season.
